Damerey is the het ship between Poe Dameron and Rey from the Star Wars fandom.

Poe and Rey are both friends and allies with Finn, who were both concerned for him following his fight with Kylo Ren. In the novelization of The Force Awakens they meet after they get the star map to locate Luke Skywalker. They hug and introduce themselves to one another.
In The Force Awakens, only Poe and Rey are brought into the interrogation room of the First Order and are both tortured by Kylo Ren.
In The Last Jedi, Finn gives Poe Rey’s tracking beacon, passing Rey’s means of returning to Poe’s hands. A similar meeting happens in The Last Jedi, following the near complete destruction of the resistance.
In The Rise of Skywalker, after the Battle of Exegol, Poe and Rey hold hands while hugging Finn.

Behind the Scenes[]
Back in 2016, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly wrote an unused Star Wars script, later confirmed to be titled Duel of the Fates that had a Poe and Rey romantic plot.[1]

Fanon[]
Due to the fact that Poe and Rey hadn’t met during The Force Awakens, many had speculated on the surrounding of two’s first meeting. Although shipping between them was rare given the popularity of the other ships they were a part of at that time. Shipping them became more popular after their meeting in The Last Jedi. However it is not as prominent as other shippings within the fandom.
Damerey shippers argue of a romance similar to that of Han and Leia due to parallels on Han and Leia’s dialogue on the Original Trilogy and Poe and Rey’s interactions on the Sequel Trilogy such as the “I know” line which is now a staple to most Damerey fanfictions. This also fits in to Han and Leia’s occupations that like Rey and Poe, Leia and Han are force sensitive and skilled pilot respectively.
Fans also state certain objects that symbolize Rey and Poe as a couple. The old Rebellion helmet Rey found and when she finally met a true Resistance pilot and Shara Bey’s ring Poe had that he will only take off once he found his right partner, in this case Rey.
Damerey is the second most popular ships for both Poe and Rey on AO3.
A popular nickname shippers use is the word ‘sunshine’ that is used when Poe is referring to Rey. This is because of one fanfiction pointed out that Rey was Poe’s ‘ray of sunshine'’. The nickname ‘flyboy’ is also put forward by shippers thanks to name Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo gave to Poe in The Last Jedi.
Some fans also point out that because Poe and Rey are both tortured by Kylo Ren, they became what fans call “torture buddies”.
