Damned Husbands is the non-binary ship between Crowley and Gabriel from the Good Omens fandom.

Canon[]

Season 1[]

In the beginning, Gabriel mentions Crowley when he notes that something is “afoot” about the Antichrist. He orders Aziraphale to keep check on him, noting that it’s a miracle that Crowley hadn’t discovered him yet.

11 years later, Gabriel visits Aziraphale again in “The Book”, noting that something smells “evil” in the bookshop’s back room, implying that Gabriel would’ve figured out that Crowley had been there if Aziraphale didn’t come up with a story to get him off-track. In “Hard Times”, it is revealed that Crowley had to worry about Gabriel ever since Arthurian times. Aziraphale warns Crowley when they meet again that he doesn’t want the higher ups to find out about him. In the present day, Aziraphale stammers to tell Gabriel about what happened to the Antichrist, so he only tells Gabriel that Crowley is at fault for causing the Antichrist to be mixed up with an ordinary human boy. Gabriel dismisses that, saying that there will be a war anyway, citing the war in heaven that caused fallen angels like Crowley to be cast out.

Gabriel and Crowley do not meet in person during the events of the series until “The Very Last Day of the Rest of their Lives”, where both Gabriel and Beelzebub arrive to try and tell the Antichrist to start the apocalypse anyway. However, though Crowley and Gabriel do not exchange words, Crowley is the one who points out that they are in trouble thanks to Gabriel and Beelzebub telling Satan about what his spawn did. Later, when it seems that the Apocalypse is averted for good after the Antichrist fully severed his ties to his infernal father, Aziraphale and Crowley try to relax only to be ambushed by the forces of Heaven and Hell. At the same time, they are both put on trial in Heaven and Hell, with their execution being inevitable via Crowley being doused in Holy Water and Aziraphale being burned in Hellfire. However, when Aziraphale tries to avoid that, telling Gabriel that what they did was for the greater good, Gabriel just tells him to go into the fire. When Aziraphale tries to get some last words out, Gabriel tells to shut up and die already. However, when Aziraphale doesn’t die in the Hellfire, Gabriel thinks it’s worse than they thought and nearly gets scorched by Aziraphale breathing the fire towards him. When Aziraphale and Crowley reunite on Earth, it turns out that they had swapped bodies to avoid their executions, so all the things “Aziraphale” told Gabriel were actually Crowley masterfully impersonating him. Crowley and Aziraphale reassure each other that neither side will bother them for a while.

In “The Arrival”, Crowley gets a call from Aziraphale and discovers in complete shock that Gabriel had been walking to his bookshop, buck-naked and amnesiac, to deliver something he didn’t remember. Crowley suggests that they should just get rid of Gabriel. However, when Aziraphale says he wants to help Gabriel, Crowley reminds him that Gabriel sentenced him to death before and leaves. However, when Beelzebub warns him that whoever is responsible for Gabriel’s disappearance will be erased from history, Crowley hurries back to the bookshop to apologize. Telling Aziraphale that both forces want to find Gabriel, they agree on casting a miracle that disguises Gabriel so neither Heaven nor Hell could recognize him.

Much like Gabriphale is for Aziraphale, Damned Husbands is the most popular romantic ship for Crowley after Ineffable Husbands.
