Darocks is the cargo ship between Daruk and rocks from The Legend of Zelda fandom.

Canon[]

Breath of the Wild[]

Daruk has always had a passion for eating rocks and it often seems to be the only thing on his mind. When Daruk starts his journal, he refuses to call it a diary as it doesn't sound man enough and he wasn't sure what to write, but as Gorons live a simple life, he hopes simple stuff counts and writes about the Rock Roast that he found on Death Mountain, and he liked it and hopes to eat more of it soon. He came across some Hylians, where the number one topic is about Calamity Ganon reminding him of the Sheikah who dug up Divine Beast Vah Rudania while back in the day, Gorons did not have to worry about the relics they could not eat and decides to look for a Prime Rock Roast for dinner. When Daruk was looking for rocks to have for lunch, he finds a Hylian named Link fighting some monsters, so he rolled down to help him, but Link already taken all of them out before he even arrived. Link's skills distracted Daruk to which he did not pay attention to the monster trying to ambush him only for Link to defeat it before it could land a blow on Daruk and the Goron Stalwart had a weird look on his face and hopes Link never saw it. When he finally learns Link's name, he also learns that he has a large appetite for just about anything like fruits, vegetables, and meat. Daruk does not find it agreeable that they are meant to be eaten while not understanding that this form of a diet is normal for non-Goron folks and offers Link his Grade A Rock Roast and comments that he like it so much he was speechless, and he knew Hylians can eat rocks too.

When Princess Zelda meets with him to inquire his assistance in being Vah Rudania's pilot, Daruk agrees and learns that there are other Champions for him to cooperate and befriend and he eventually gives her a Rock Roast which she politely thanks and holds back a grimace. When Daruk was having trouble controlling Vah Rudania while the Champions did better, he inquires Link help though he pushes him onto Vah Rudania to have them explore aimlessly to enjoy the scenery, and during the cutscene itself, Daruk mentions that the sirloin rocks that the Gorons eat are really tasty and are the most popular choice with his race. Daruk learns that the best way to learn is through experience and decides to reward him with a gourmet sirloin rock. As Daruk observed how Link and Zelda are starting to get along with the latter commenting that they have their similarities when they were cooking food together which got Link to open up about his problems. Daruk believes that it might be their food preferances and notes journal writing makes him hungry.

Age of Calamity[]

After the conclusion of Daruk, the Goron Hero Scenario, Daruk agrees to become Divine Beast Vah Rudania's pilot and sees that Link must have been starving after all the fighting and climbing to the top of Death Mountain and gives Link a Rock Roast which Link ate without question and keeping a straight face while Zelda and Impa are shocked that Link actually did it, which Daruk misses the point and forgets that he forgot to provide enough for them and promises to remember next time. Various scenarios involving Daruk and the region being Eldin, specifically Death Mountain, Daruk would end up bringing up the subject of Rock Roasts and sirloin rocks at least once. During the secret DLC ending, Daruk and Yunobo are seen sitting on the cliff and they both eat their Rock Roasts together.

Fanon[]

While it is very common for various Gorons who love to eat rocks across the franchise to occur both in the actual games and in fanfiction as well, Daruk in particular is very well known for taking his love of sirloin rocks to the extreme, more so than the other Gorons do, who note their love of rocks only a few times, and he often brings up the topic of eating Rock Roasts in many of his journal entries. The love for food as well as being well known for fighting skills, it was these traits that had Daruk befriend Link the moment he met him and given that he grew up in a simple lifestyle, he does not understand that Hylians and other races eat different things that are normal to them. It's common in many fanfics that Daruk would give anyone of any race a Rock Roast as he did that to Link and almost did that to Zelda as well and often treated as a running gag and done for comedic effect.
