Daruk's Protection is the cargo ship between Daruk and forcefields from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Breath of the Wild[]
Daruk is noted to have been born with the ability to project a forcefield around himself to grant himself full protection from any attack thrown at him. He is seen using it in the cutscene Champion Daruk's Song when he activated it at the sound of the barking dog he unknowingly saved from the Bokoblins, which reveals that it can activate on instinct, and he clearly fears dogs ever since he was a child. In Daruk's Mettle, when a giant boulder from Death Mountain was rolling down in his direction, Daruk uses it to block it just in time before it hits him or Link, which the size of the boulders concerns him.
After his death, while he can still project his barrier, the fact that he was a spirit made it pointless for him to use for self-protection. After Link helps him liberate Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Daruk passes his power down to Link so that he can make use of it. When Link raises his shield, he projects Daruk's Protection which will block any attack he fails to parry and Daruk' spirit will briefly appear before vanishing and it can be used up to three times before requiring a recharge lasting up to eighteen minutes in real time and six minutes in Hyrule Castle, but in The Champions' Ballad, Daruk will upgrade his power to Daruk's Protection + which reduces to six minutes in real time and two minutes in Hyrule Castle once the EX Champion Daruk's Song sidequest is completed.
On a related note, Yunobo is also capable of using this ability due to his lineage with Daruk and it is used when he is scared and when he is shot out of a cannon to attack Vah Rudania which is more effective than normal cannonballs.
Age of Calamity[]
As Daruk is a playable warrior, in addition to his many fire abilities, he can activate his barrier at any given time when the Guard (R Button) is held. When he does, he cannot run or roll while it is active as he needs to raise his arms to project the barrier effectively and he is restricted to walking or standing still. Daruk can also use it like a weapon which is seen when he dives into enemies during the point where the enemy's weak point is exposed and during his Special Attack where it damages any foe that comes close to him. Like most forcefields across all media, Daruk's Protection is shown to be capable of shattering whenever it took a very hard hit, which is shown in the cutscene, Water and Fire where Daruk was using it to shield himself against Fireblight Ganon and the latter strikes it so hard that it broke, rendering Daruk vulnerable but Yunobo, with Terrako's help came to his rescue using his power, which surprised him that another Goron can use his power. He would later return the same favor to Yunobo just before help arrives.
Fanon[]
Daruk's Protection is the most prevalent in numerous fan fic stories and has some appearances in fan art as well. Daruk is the most notable user of this ability as it is named after himself, and fans have seen that it is passed down through many generations as shown with Yunobo also being capable of using it as well. Fan arts have Daruk saying, "Daruk's Protection is now ready to roll!", on multiple occasions which is often used for comedic effects such as startling Link and making him fall off a cliff or generally breaking his concentration when he is focusing on something.
