We couldn't have asked for a more generous team captain.
—Marvin about Daffy; To Bowl or Not To Bowl.

Darvin is the slash ship between Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian from the Looney Tunes fandom.

Canon[]

Looney Tunes Shorts[]

Since Marvin only appeared in 5 classic shorts, he and Daffy never really interacted. The only exception was the short "Duck Dodgers in the 24th and A Half Century" where Daffy was his superhero persona Duck Dodgers and Marvin was still unnamed. The two interacted when Duck Dodgers wanted some uranium on the planet Marvin was on, but Marvin was able to outsmart Dodgers since Dodgers disintegrated himself and his own gun.

The Looney Tunes Show[]

Similar to how this show fueled Baffy and Dorky shippers, it also fueled Darvin fans. In this series, Daffy and Marvin have known each other since high school and are still very close friends. While Marvin appears very rarely in the series, he still has his moments with Daffy that are very sweet and wholesome. Such as in the episode "Reunion" where Marvin vented about how horrible high school was for him as he was an exchange student and he's since been planning to destroy Earth. Daffy wishes him good luck and he hopes he does it better than he did, as in earlier in the episode, Daffy was trying to destroy the Earth before his reunion. Another sweet moment happened in "To Bowl or Not to Bowl" where Daffy is the captain of the bowling team. Marvin believed in Daffy, even though he knew that Daffy sucks at bowling (at first). And while they did in fact lose the bowling tournament, he still stayed friends with Daffy until the end of the series.

In the episode "Sunday Night Slice" Daffy and Marvin are assigned to make pizza in the kitchen. However, Daffy is deluded into thinking he is a military general and tries to boss Marvin around. However, Marvin stands his guard and straight up tells Daffy that he's power hungry and isn't fit to lead. But the two managed to work together to try making pizza, even if Daffy's plan to bake a pizza box resulted in a fire.

Trivia[]

  • In the Looney Tunes episode "Jailbird and Jailbunny", Daffy is looking through custom license plates for his name and while he doesn't find his name, he finds one that says "Darvin" on it, in which he's angry about since he thinks Darvin isn't a real name... until a kid named Darvin appears, in which Daffy takes back what he said.
