Davamy is the het ship between Dave and Amy from the Total Drama fandom.
Canon[]
Dave and Amy didn't interact much during the season, as they were placed on opposite teams. In their shared debut episode, "So, Uh, This is My Team?", Dave was placed on Team Wâneyihtam Maskwak and Amy was placed on Team Pimâpotew Kinosewak. Dave made it abundantly clear that he hated the cards he was dealt with, when it came to teammates. Contrastly, he thought the opposing team was comparatively better, which would have included Amy.
In "Twinning isn't everything" Amy and Samey team up to eliminate Dave from the challenge, plotting a sneak attack. Amy and Samey hid behind a bush and waited for Dave to arrive. When he showed up, Amy lept out and threw two water balloons at him, both of which missed. Dave was already paralyzed in fear just from seeing Amy in his presence and did little other than flinching helplessly, while she tried to pelt him. It wasn't until Samey threw a balloon, that she struck Dave and covered him with itching powder. Dave almost instantly starts scratching himself silly, while Amy gleefully smirks at him and revels in his pain. Jasmine came up and congratulated Samey for her attack on Dave. Amy gets territorial and claims that she was the one who knocked out Dave, not Samey. However, Jasmine doesn't believe her, as she saw exactly what happened.
In "A Blast from the Past", Dave expresses confusion on seeing Amy return to the island. In the confessional, he tries to work out what had just happened. He tries to determine whether Amy returned or Sammy never left. He then says, "No wait, that's not right", implying that he thought the one who stayed at the island was Amy, and the one who returned from elimination was Sammy. Considering he was among the ones who didn't say anything about Sammy during the previous challenge at the previous episode, it's likely he didn't feel as negatively towards the mean twin as the other competitors.
Earlier in the episode, he uses the fact that Shawn saw a zombie on the island to his (team's) advantage and tells him that the entire Kinosewak team has turned into zombies, which got their team a point, eventually leading to his team winning and hence Sammy (and Amy) getting eliminated
Fanon[]
As many were fans of villain couples such as Aleheather, Scottney, and Bowlia, people tried to pair them up as well, considering the fact that both play the role of antagonists in the season. Although they haven't met, they do have a few parallels which include attempted murder, beefing with Shawn and Jasmine, stopping someone from winning rather than winning for themselves, etc. However, as it is confirmed that Dave still resides in Pahkitew island to this day, and that Gen 4 of Total Drama is currently ongoing, it is unclear if they would get to be canon after all.
They also have a few traits in common (insufferable whiny personalities, generic designs), hence making people ship them, although in a non-serious way. Since we aren't given much info about the characters, as they are from the third generation, there can be a multitude of creative ways for writing them, whether they are in your top or bottom two.
The ship is largely popular among people who hate Dave and Amy as characters. Haters agree that since Amy is such a vile and disgusting person, she deserves to have an obnoxious and classless boyfriend like Dave. Likewise, after seeing how selfish and inconsiderate Dave is toward women, he belongs with a spiteful and abrasive girlfriend like Amy. Fans relish the toxicity of this potential relationship, seeing it as being somewhat karmic for both parties' behavior toward Sky and Samey.
Conversely, people who like them as characters also find the appeal into shipping them as stated from the above reasons, as well as the fact that they're fairly unpopular among the rest of the cast, after the season happened (if they have seen it, they'd know that Amy's the meaner twin and Dave tried to kill Sky in the finale). Considering the fact that they have the same enemies would make them form an alliance and eventually some type of bond.
However, there are also fans/haters of the characters who either dislike the ship or just ship them platonically, and also ship rival pairs. They don't get why people ship them apart from them being their least favorite characters from the season, and the ship usually gets in the way of headcanons where either like people of the same gender.
Rival ships include TophAmy, Davella, RodAmy, and Skave, the latter of which is regarded as one of the most low-quality canon relationships in the franchise, meaning it doesn't pose too much competition in the popularity department.
On AO3, there is currently one written work.
