Dean is the het ship between Sean Everett and Daisy from The Music Freaks fandom.
Canon[]
Pink-Haired Devil[]
They first meet in “Pink-Haired Devil”. As Sean is cleaning the music room alone, Daisy walks in and asks if she’s the music room. Sean seeing her, blushes a bit thinking she’s really cute. He replies that she’s in the right room. Daisy thought band rehearsals for the competition would be going on, but Sean says that the music club now practices during lunch time and tells her to come tomorrow. Daisy asks Sean what instrument he plays as she is very interested in the music club’s band. Sean replies he doesn’t play any instruments, instead he produces the music and find beats for the band. Daisy thinks it sounds fun and Sean laughs agreeing. There then was a brief awkward silence between the two. Sean asks if there was anything else he could help her with. Daisy was wondering why Sean was cleaning all by himself, when it’s usually the janitor’s job to clean. Sean says he likes cleaning himself, as it’s sort of a hobby of his. Daisy believes that he felt lonely as he has to stay behind after school to clean. Sean says he wanted to stay behind and that he isn’t lonely either as he has Mr. Broom with him. Daisy offers to stay to keep him company. Sean was hesitant at first, but Daisy says it’s okay because she loves cleaning too and thinks it’s much more fun when there’s company around. Sean thanks her and they properly introduce themselves to each other. Daisy recognizes Sean’s name as Jake told her about him. Sean asks if she wants to listen to a new track he’s been working on while they clean and Daisy says she’d love to.
Lovesick Luke[]
Hailey comments that Daisy is the epitome of cute and both Jake and Sean agree saying “Yeah.” at the same time.
Out in the Open[]
Sean notices Daisy sitting on a bench by herself, crying. Daisy sees him and attempts to walk away saying she was about to leave, but he stops her. Daisy wasn’t expecting someone from school to find her and feels embarrassed of it. They sit down and Sean asks Daisy what happened. She replies that she didn’t have a good day because she got into a fight with her mom. Sean asks Daisy if she’s comfortable to talk about it, even though the two don’t know each other very well, but he says he’s there if she wants him to listen. After Daisy finishes telling Sean of her issues, she apologizes for feeling pathetic. Sean says it’s alright, and that he understands her as he knows what’s it like having family issues. He gives her advice that she shouldn’t be forced to do something just to please her parents. Daisy says she wasn’t unhappy about all the responsibility she has to deal with, she just wishes that she had something to escape it all that’s fun and carefree. Sean says he feels that way about music. Daisy tells Sean that she’s jealous of him because he’ll be graduating soon. Sean was surprised by this. Daisy continues that when she graduates, she wishes to get out of the city, explore new places and trying new things. Sean then sings the song Getaway to Daisy as they walk around to different places together.
After hanging out together, Daisy thanks Sean for keeping her company. Sean says he had a lot of fun tonight. Daisy says she has to go before her parents start a search party to find her. Sean hopes that Daisy won’t make it a habit of her to cry on the park benches anymore as it’s dangerous. Daisy says she has take self-defense classes so she isn’t completely defenseless. Sean says if she ever needs backup, he and Mr. Broom has got her covered. Before she leaves, Sean asks if she would like his number. Daisy is confused, but Sean says that it’s so she could have someone to talk to by calling or texting him and that he’ll be there to listen. Daisy accepts and they share each others numbers. Daisy tells Sean to not tell anyone that he saw her that night and he says she won’t. Daisy leaves and they goodbye to each other.
Wavering Betwen[]
Jake spots Daisy and Sean talking together in the music room. Jake watches outside as the two are talking. Daisy thanks Sean for the playlist he sent as she finds it very sweet. Daisy had to leave soon as her parents just called and they both say goodbye. Later, when Jake is hanging out at Drew's place with the Jomies, Zoey, and Lia, he mentions that he saw Daisy and Sean in the music room and assumed they were close friends. Zoey and Lia saw Sean and Daisy the other weekend the night that they were hanging out. A flashback shows Zoey and Lia spotting Daisy and Sean together. Daisy puts a rose on her head and Sean blushes seeing her have it. Lia takes a photo of the moment and in present day, shows the photo to Jake. Zoey assumes that the two went on a date.
KARMA[]
Sean calls Daisy in hopes she can help him with the music club and about Jake getting kicked out. Daisy face turns to shock after Sean finishes explaining what happened to Jake to her.
A Singer’s Resolve[]
Jake tells Sean that if he and Daisy are dating, he’d totally be cool with that. Sean reacts with confusion. Sean clears up the misunderstanding that he annd Daisy are just friends and he knows Jake likes her, so he wouldn’t date her behind his back.
Fanon[]
Dean is a fairly popular ship within the fandom. It started gaining popularity after episode 7, Out in the Open, even overshadowing Daisy’s other popular ship, Jaisy. It’s Daisy’s most written ship and second most written ship for Sean on AO3. Fans of the ship love the dynamic between the two and that they’re meant for each other because of how similar the two are. There are a bunch of fan videos, edits, and fan works of the two. However, the ship has some controversy due to the fact that Jake has a crush on Daisy and Sean knows this. Some fans find it strange that him having feelings for one of his friends crush. There are also a few fans that also just prefer these two being a platonic relationship rather than romantic due to other reasons.
