Dendish is the family ship between Kujou Sara and Nahida from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Kujou Sara and Nahida have never met nor interacted.
Nahida has a box of toys that she cannot play with alone. This includes two player games that she cannot play by herself, as well as single player puzzles that she created and thus would not have any fun solving. In contrast, Kujou Sara has a spinning top which she likes. However, in respect to the purpose of the top, which is meant for one person to play with, Kujou Sara rejects invitations to play with the top together. Thus, Nahida has toys that are meant for two but no one to play with, while Sara has a toy that is meant for one though there are those who offer to play with her.
Some of Nahida’s powers include the power to read minds. Kujou Sara is known to have a stone face that rarely smiles, and her citizens view her as a cold military personnel. However, her character story describes that such a description is too shallow, as passion burns within her. In addition, Nahida is often depicted with many birds, and Nahida herself has been described as a caged bird due to her time trapped in the Sanctuary of Surasthana. Kujou Sara is a tengu, which is a type of youkai linked to crows. Both characters are related to birds, whether literally or figuratively.
In her voicelines about the other archons, Nahida expresses an interest in meeting them. In her voiceline, she asks for the Traveler’s assistance in meeting the others. Among the seven is Raiden Ei, who Kujou Sara is deeply connected to. One of Sara’s titles is “Raiden Shogun’s helper”. Nahida is looking for someone to introduce her to the other archons, and Kujou Sara is someone with connections to one of those archons.

The creation of this family ship is largely a result of the romantic rare ship between Kujou Sara and Scaramouche. A popular head canon for that ship is that Kujou Sara eventually quits her job as the Shogun’s general and moves to Sumeru with Scaramouche. From there, she would meet Nahida and form a found family bond with her similar to the existing bond between Scaramouche and Nahida. Thus, a popular role that fans of this family ship cast Nahida into is one of a wingman or supporter who watches and encourages Kujou Sara in a romantic relationship with Scaramouche. A popular head canon towards this end is that Nahida would sign Sara up for Vahumana, the same Darshan as Scaramouche. However, she would ultimately allow Sara to explore her own interests and settle into the role of someone who helps the two communicate smoothly. After all, she believes in guiding all forms of wisdom.
As the goddess of wisdom, Nahida has been shown to be very curious about the unknown. Given that she has been trapped for most of her life, fans of this ship imagine that Nahida has never met a tengu. Thus, combined with her like of birds, perhaps Nahida would be excessively curious about Kujou Sara and her wings. This may be further fueled by Sara’s ability to make Faith Eternal, her specialty dish. Since Nahida’s favorite food is Candied Ajilenakh Nuts, which is sweet yet substantial, fans of this ship believe that Nahida would also greatly enjoy Sara’s sweet rolled omelet.
It is also widely believed by fans that Nahida feels burdened by her role as archon. Thus, a relationship with Sara, who is from Inazuma, may allow her to relax slightly. That is to say, she would not have the obligations of an archon in her interactions with Sara. In the same vein, Sara would interact with an archon on equal footing. This may be helpful in helping her overcome her previous tendency to put certain people on pedestals.
Other popular headcanons for this ship include that Sara would have the patience to go through Nahida’s toys, the two would encourage each other to reach out and make more friends, Sara could help Nahida reconnect with Raiden Ei, and Nahida would help Sara find out about her biological parents through Irminsul.

- The ship name, Dendish, is modeled after the popular family ship name between Scaramouche and Nahida: Lodish. The ‘Den’ refers to Dendrobiums, which is an ascension material that only Kujou Sara uses.
