Dewedain is the het ship between Dew and Edain from the Fire Emblem fandom.

Canon[]

Dew and Edain are two playable characters in Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War. Edain is the daughter of the Duke of Yngvi (a part of Grannvale kingdom). Dew is a commoner from Verdane (a kingdom next to Grannvale). Dew was caught by Jamke (Verdane's youngest prince) while trying to steal the castle's treasures and is imprisoned. Some time after Verdane took advantage of the fact that most Grannvale's forces are away to attack the country, Verdane's forces invade Yngvi. Edain is captured by Crown Prince Munnir, and is imprisoned as well. Jamke disagrees with the invasion, frees Edain alongside Dew, and tasks him to protect her.

When Dew and Edain become playable, they have a special conversation. Dew give to Edain a Warp staff. She asks him where a got it. He answers that he just found it. She thanks him and say that she will cherish it. They finally joins Sigurd army.

If Edain reaches enough love points with Dew, they will wed. At the end of Chapter 5, Sigurd is betrayed and killed by Arvis, and most of his army dies with him, including Dew. Edain manages to escape to Isaach. (where some members of the army had sent their children to safety). She becomes an abbess in Tirnanog where she raises her own children, Lana and Lester, and acts as a mother figure to Seliph, Diarmuid/Tristan, Larcei/Creidne, and Scáthach/Dalvin. In the second generation her two children that she has with her husband are playable. Her daughter Lana inherits her class and inventory while her son Lester inherits his father's inventory.

Fanon[]

Dewedain isn't widely popular due to the fact that strategically, their kids won't get many advantages, and that they only share one special conversation. However, a very small part of the fanbase ship them. They are considered to parallels Julian and Lena's relationship from the first game. Dewedain's shippers like the contrast between a naive thief and a humble cleric. In fanwork, Dew is often show among the members of Sigurd army that are attracted by Edain.

This ship has also a family/friendship variant where Dew marries Edain's twin sister Brigid.
