DianaHippolyta is the family ship between Diana of Themyscira and Hippolyta from the DC Comics, DC Animated Universe, DC Extended Universe and DC Super Hero Girls fandoms.

Canon

The Queen of the Amazons, who longed to have a child, one day carves one out of clay. The gods decided to grant her this gift and brought the baby to life. Hippolyta named her Diana and raised her as the only child of the Amazons. Her daughter and princess to her people. One day, when a man crashed onto their island, Diana decided that she had to leave to return him. Hippolyta granted her daughter with many gifts to help her when she got to mans world, and wished her daughter luck.

After Diana saw the little girl she saved be reunited with her mother, she begins to think about her own mother and how she left for man's world behind her back. Superman advices Wonder Woman to go see Hippolyta, so she can know that her daughter is safe and so the two could patch up the rift that Diana's departure might have caused. On the way back to the island Diana was struggling to decide on the words she should use to explain her absence, as she wonders if she should either try to make it sound like she never left at all or simply explain her reason for leaving in the first place.

Wonder Woman

As Diana starts to board the boat with Steve, a group of riders show up, led by Hippolyta. Diana goes over to her, and says that she's leaving, unable to standby as innocent live are lost. She must leave, and Hippolyta says that she knows. She says that there is so much that Diana doesn't understand, but Diana says that she understands enough. She's willing to fight for those that can't fight for themselves, just like Hippolyta once did. Hippolyta says that if Diana leaves, she won't be allowed to return, and Diana asks who she will be if she stays. Hippolyta gives Diana a tiara, telling her that it belonged to the greatest Amazon warrior, and that she better make sure that she's worthy of it. Diana assures her that she will, and Hippolyta tells her to be careful in man's world, for they do not deserve her. Hippolyta says that Diana is her greatest love, but today, she is her greatest sorrow. Diana then heads to the boat and sails away as her mother watchest.

DianaHippolyta, isn't a relationship often explored by the transformative half of fandom. Many preferring to explore Diana's relationship with potential love interests rather than her family. Still, many find the relationship interesting. Though many wish that Diana would spend more time with her Amazon family nowadays. On AO3, DianaHippolyta is the most written ship for Hippolyta. There are currently 55 written works.
