Dibper is the slash ship between Dib Membrane and Dipper Pines from the Invader Zim and Gravity Falls fandoms.
Canon[]
Dib Membrane and Dipper Pines are from separate series. Thus, they have never met. However, they have some similarities. For example, both of them are socially awkward. Both of them are intelligent. And they are both passionate about the paranormal. They also share the fact that their names start with "Di." They both want to impress father figures and are sometimes a little selfish. They both have sisters they are sometimes resentful of, but are sometimes compassionate to. In spite of their dorkiness, they can be brave in the face of adversity.
Despite their similarities, they have different strengths and personality traits. Dipper is anxious, self-conscious, and sometimes mean, but mostly an affable character. However, Dib's antagonistic and can be perceived as self-confident, though in reality Dib can be self loathing and could even be read as suicidal. While Dib and Dipper are both not particularly social, Dipper is significantly better at making friends. Dipper also tends to have a more positive relationship with his father figures than Dib.
Fanon[]
Dibper is a relatively popular crossover idea within their respective fandoms. Common headcanons for both Dipper and Dib are they are transgender, nonbinary, bisexual, etc. They have many traits showing they could be autistic, or otherwise neurodivergent. They are also perceived by fans to have a "cryptidcore" aesthetic.
A dynamic seen in fanon works of Dibper is the idea that Dipper can balance out Dib's "feralness" and Dib helps Dipper with his anxiety, in addition to Dipper and Dib resenting each other when they first meet but then becoming good friends and eventually lovers. The crossover nature of this ship means that it tends to be mostly fun and goofy.
