Season 1[]
APPRENTICE
Robin chases Slade through the desert, Slade coming to a stop and saying that he's doing some dangerous behavior. He says that Robin must have wanted to see him badly, but Robin says that he's here to stop him. Slade asks how he'll do that when Robin doesn't even know what he's planning, and Robin starts attacking him. Slade dodges his attacks, and momentarily disappears when debris causes dust to appear. Slade says that the two of them are equally matched, which he doesn't find surprising given how similar they are. Robin says he's nothing like Slade, and turns around to punch him. He grabs him by the shirt and says that all Slade cares about is destruction, but Slade says that anything Robin cares about he destroys himself. Robin looks to the side and sees that the rocks he destroyed earlier were statues of the Titans. He demands to know who Slade is and pulls off his mask, revealing that it's himself. Robin then awakes, revealing the past events to be a dream, when Cyborg comes in and tells him that Slade's made a move.

The rivalry and history between Dick Grayson and Slade Wilson is well known among DC fans of the two characters and the Teen Titans series. Both comics and cartoon, as well as other adaptations of the two. Despite the age gap in the animated series, many fans actually started to ship them within that series. Or at least were interested enough in their relationship to look into the comic version. Starting to ship another version as well. With many liking that the two are each other's main adversary, making it easy for fans of "Enemies to Lovers" to ship them. It is also often compared to BatJokes and Clex.
On AO3, DickStroke is the most written ship for Slade and the tenth most written ship for Dick. It is also the fifth most written ship in the Nightwing (Comics) tag and fourth most written in the Teen Titans (Animated Series) tag. There are currently 2500+ written works.
