- “After his coronation, Dimitri assumed the throne of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and his loyal vassal, Dedue, remained ever at his side. Among Dimitri's achievements was the reconciliation with Duscur: an extraordinary effort that required extensive negotiations to get past a history of betrayal and oppression. It was a trying task, but Dimitri never once considered giving up. While they behaved as lord and vassal in public, it is said that Dimitri and Dedue were more like family in private. When Dimitri finally fell to illness, Dedue tended to his liege's deathbed, and then took up a post at his grave for the rest of his days. When the time came, they were buried beside each other.”
- — Dimitri & Dedue's paired ending, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Dimidue is the slash ship between Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd and Dedue Molinaro from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Fire Emblem: Three Houses[]
After a majority of the Faerghus royal family were murdered during the Tragedy of Duscur, the people of Duscur, including Dedue, became scapegoated by the kingdom. However, the family's sole survivor, Dimitri, defended the Duscurians and saved Dedue from certain death. From that moment on, Dedue devoted his life to protecting Dimitri. Four years later, the two would attend Garreg Mach Monastery together as students under the Blue Lions house. Their fates from then on will be determined by which class the player chooses to teach.
Part I: White Clouds[]
Dimitri and Dedue will rarely leave each other' side. Towards the end, Dedue shows visible concern for Dimitri's health, suggesting that he should get some sleep, even though Dimitri himself insists that he doesn't need it.
Part II: Azure Moon[]
The only route where either are playable. At some point during the timeskip, Dimitri gets captured and is about to be executed when Dedue saves him and is presumed dead. However, if the player completed the paralogue "War for the Weak" in Part I, Dedue returns to rejoin Dimitri and the player's army at the Great Bridge of Myrddin, revealing that the Duscurians whom he saved five years earlier returned the favor and saved him from death's doorstep. Should they share an ending, the two will work together to reconcile with Duscur. The two prove to be so close that their bodies are buried next to each other.
Part II: Crimson Flower[]
Dimitri and Dedue appear together in the penultimate battle against the player and Edelgard as bosses in the battle at Tailtean Plain. Shortly before the battle, Dedue gave the soldiers Crest Stones from the vault at Garreg Mach Monastery, turning most of them into monsters. Dimitri calls Dedue out for this, but Dedue justifies his actions saying that if they were to lose here, it would be the end of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus in which they live. If certain conditions are met, Dedue will turn into a monster in one last act to fend off the opposition. Dimitri is shocked, and vows to fight for the honor of everyone else at the battle, including him. Regardless of Dedue's actions, both will be killed in the battle. If Dedue was killed as a human, he and Dimitri will have a touching dialogue in which Dedue will calm Dimitri in their dying breaths, saying that he was forever thankful for the nine years he had spent at his side up until the end that night, before finishing with a request to be at peace before they draw their last breaths.
Part II: Silver Snow & Verdant Wind[]
On both routes, Dimitri will be killed at the Battle of Gronder Field, but Dedue will survive. He hides out in the imperial capital of Enbarr until the player's army invades the palace to depose Edelgard, and agrees to help them as an ally. Should he survive, he will leave having fulfilled Dimitri's last request, yet lonely and regretful that he could not save him.
