Doki Doki Squad is the poly ship between Monika, Natsuki, Sayori, and Yuri from the Doki Doki Literature Club! fandom.

Canon[]

Natsuki and Yuri[]

Both Yuri and Natsuki bicker a lot. They're both rivals and often make fun of each other's issues. In one of Natsuki's poems, Natsuki uses another girl to ridicule Yuri. Nobody came out and said why Natsuki and Yuri are prone to fighting but most of it is implied. Yuri's shyness makes her vulnerable to Natsuki's rude comments, which blow up into an argument.

It is also revealed that Natsuki is worried about Yuri later in the story. She writes a poem to the Protagonist about her concerns. She is embarrassed to say it, but according to her poem, she's wanted to be Yuri's friend for a long while, but was never given the chance, and with all the fights, it would be stupid of her to ask. She claims Yuri is acting differently, and it scares her. She also mentions how dismissive Monika is of Yuri's change in emotion. It is later revealed that Monika is the cause of Yuri's insane mood swings, Natsuki's mood swings, and Sayori's depressive behavior.

In the side story "Self-Love" from Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, Yuri and Natsuki help each other past an argument and often talk to each other during their lunch hours. Yuri is later seen to help Natsuki with a panic attack, sprouted from Natsuki leaving her former friends. They then get comfortable next to each other and talk about hanging out in the future.

Natsuki and Monika[]

Not much can be based on Natsuki and Monika's relationship in the regular game. Subtly, Monika can be seen in Act One asking Natsuki if she enjoys writing poems. Natsuki, embarrassed, asks her why she thinks that in which, and Monika mentions a poem Natsuki tried to hide from everyone else. Before she could get out the title, Natsuki changes the subject, leaving everyone else in the dark.

Natsuki and Monika's dynamic is explored more in DDLC+. In the side story "Respect," Natsuki joins the Literature Club and is greeted by all three other club members. When asked what her favorite type of literature is, Natsuki happily responds with Manga, which disappoints Monika, who believes Manga is not a type of literature. After Natsuki is out of sight, Sayori tries to cheer up Monika. When Monika asks Natsuki the next day about her taste in literature, Natsuki gets frustrated and runs out of the room, assuming no one likes her or her tastes. Monika then spies on Natsuki and her friends days later and finds out that her friends aren't the best of people. She suddenly gets a change of heart, feeling sorry for Natsuki; she tries to make it up to her.

Natsuki and Sayori[]

Just like Natsuki and Monika, not much is written down or known about the two.

Natsuki is known for her baking in the Literature Club. She bakes numerous sweets, and Sayori herself is a sweet tooth. She usually steals extra sweets from Natsuki. Both girls also have a pink color palette. Sayori is often found calling Natsuki "cute" and tries to help her open up about her poems.

In the side story "Balance," Natsuki helps Sayori understand people's boundaries and they go off talking about the manga that Natsuki showed Sayori. They have a very close bond and are seen talking a lot more in later side stories.

Sayori and Monika[]

The two own the Literature Club together. Because of this, it was assumed that Sayori was the first person to join the club, right after Monika created it, then came Yuri, Natsuki, and the protagonist.

In the side story "Trust," Monika and Sayori share their own story. While Monika is sleeping, Sayori comes in, wanting to join the literature club. Sayori wakes up Monika and asks if she’s in the wrong club, Monika, embarrassed, apologizes to Sayori. Sayori asks if she can become vice president since she’s the only person who wants to join the club, Monika agrees but asks if she’s sure about it since there are no other members. Sayori claims she still wants to join since the Literature Club sounded fun to her.

Sometime later, Monika finds out Sayori is depressed. When she confronts Sayori, Sayori is hesitant to say it. Monika allows Sayori to vent whenever she needs to afterward. Sadly though, it is later revealed in the main story, after Sayori invites her childhood friend —the protagonist— to the Literature Club, Monika uses Sayori’s depression to her advantage and makes her commit suicide.

Sayori and Yuri[]

In the beginning of the main story, Sayori introduces all the girls of the Literature Club to her friend. She makes it a point to call Yuri the “Smartest girl in the club” which makes Yuri blush.

There are not many other interactions the two share, as they aren’t much similar. The only thing they seem to have in common is their depressive behavior, Sayori being suicidal, and Yuri being prone to self-harm.

In the side story "Understanding," Yuri and Sayori start reading one of Yuri's books together. When Sayori puts a lot more effort in than Yuri is used to, she breaks down, assuming that Sayori is only doing what she is out of pity. They share a hug after as Sayori comforts Yuri and puts an effort into understanding her.

Yuri and Monika[]

In the beginning of the main story, Monika and Yuri are on good terms. Monika tends to stand up for Yuri when she’s in an argument with Natsuki.

Later on in the story, Monika and Yuri’s relationship takes a turn for the worst. Monika uses Yuri’s unstableness to her ability. She messes with Yuri’s character to make her unlovable, she also insults Yuri several times to try and make the protagonist hate her as well.

Many people like the two being shipped together due to their mature bodies and characteristics. The two are also Yanderes.

In the side story "Reflection," Monika helps Yuri write a letter to Natsuki, apologizing for what she's said but also stating her emotions and needs. They end up holding hands and talking in a way that could seem romantical.

Fanon[]

Doki Doki Squad for Natsuki and Yuri seems to be one of the popular ships in the fandom. And by that, the fandom doesn’t have many. The main reason why this ship probably sailed is due to the two’s many interactions. Also with the fact, Natsuki made point of Yuri’s emotion changes, and brought her concern to the main character. Another reason they might have been shipped is them being total opposites, fandoms tend to favor opposites attract ships over others.

Many haters of Natsuri bring up the fact that Natsuki is basically a bully. She tends to bring up the fact Yuri does self harm in conversations, and pisses off Yuri. This fact has turned off some Natsuri fans; yet, the ship remains one of the most popular ships in the fandom.

Natsuki and Monika is a rarepair by default. With the two having more popular ships like Natsuri or Sayonika, Natsuki x Monika tends to get forgotten. The two don’t hold much interactions in the main game either.

Natsuki and Sayori is a fairly popular ship in the fandom. It is not the popular ship for either characters, but it holds a place in many fans’ hearts. One of the reasons Natsuki and Sayori might have been shipped is due to Natsuki being a baker, and Sayori having a sweet tooth. Sayori often will steal sweets behind Natsuki’s back; because she likes them so much. The more obvious reason might just be because Natsuki and Sayori have a pink color palette. This ship tends to get less hate than the more popular ships because the two have no drama in between them.

Sayori and Monika is one of the more popular ships in the Doki Doki Literature Club! fandom because the two share multiple interactions. Sayori and Monika are both club presidents; so they interact several times in the plot, because of their roles. The side story goes more into depth about their relationship. Mostly, how the two met.

Many haters of the ship bring up the fact that Monika used Sayori’s depression to her advantage, to make her want to commit suicide. This has made fans leave, as some might consider this ship to be toxic.

Sayori and Yuri do not interact much in the game, making them a rarepair. Probably, the main reason why the two are shipped in the first place, is because of their similar names.

Yuri and Monika—just like Natsuki and Sayori—is a fairly popular ship in the fandom. Many shippers ship them alongside Natsuki and Sayori; to pair all the girls up. There are several reason this ship might have started; and it is not clear which one started this ship to begin with.

Doki Doki Squad isn’t a rarepair in it’s fandom, but mostly just forgotten. Shippers in the fandom tend to just ship the main popular ships. And, poly ships aren’t as popular as two person ships in the fandom.
