In the Pilot, the duo are seen engaging in a friendly conversation over a feast.
Candy Carrier Chaos![]
The two are seen conversing with each other when entering the candy kingdom. Ragatha points out the beauty of the castle, and Kinger amazes over the candy bugs. Skipping ahead, Kinger and Ragatha find themselves in a car chase against a gang of criminals. As the car throws everyone around, Ragatha asks if everyone is doing well after the tumble. Kinger claims he can't hear her over the knives impaling him.
Without Pomni, the circus crew's truck falls into a river of fudge, meeting the fudge monster. Jax teases Ragatha by saying her hair is similar to licorice, in which Ragatha demands him to stop calling it that to prevent the fudge monster from consuming her for the candy-like traits. Kinger steps in and agrees with Jax's statement and Ragatha demands him to stop as well. Kinger then places a bucket on Ragatha's head, telling her to hide her hair with it.
They eventually find themselves escaping the chasm and successfully capturing Gummigoo's gang mates. From there, Ragatha expresses her concern for Pomni, who is still missing from the truck. Kinger reassures her that they can always contact Caine to locate her. Ragatha claims she's more concerned about Pomni's experiences with the circus and believes Pomni doesn't like her. Kinger supports her and elucidates that she shouldn't take it too personally and Pomni just needs time to adjust. He uses Ragatha's difficulty becoming contempt with the circus as an example. Ragatha expresses her surprise that he remembers, but he proves her statement wrong by strangely questioning "Remember what?"
The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor[]
Ragatha and Kinger are separated from each other, leaving him to travel through the haunted mansion along with Pomni. When returning, Ragatha immediately asks if they were okay. Kinger explains Pomni was very brave during their haunted trip.

Out of everyone in the episode, Kinger treats Ragatha with the most respect and care. Towards the beginning of the episode, Kinger asks Ragatha to help him count his eggs before they hatch, and she obliges. During the stargazing adventure, when Jax gets upset with Ragatha, she decides to go to Kinger instead, and asks him if he's seen the fireflies. During the bar adventure, Kinger and Ragatha arrive at the bar together. However, when Ragatha shares her story, Kinger, along with the others, look at her like she's crazy.
During the softball adventure, Kinger serves as the coach of the Big Tops. Due to Caine messing with the rules of the game, the Big Tops win by doing nothing. Even so, Kinger is delighted at the team's win, and joyfully lifts Ragatha in celebration. However, at the end of the episode, Ragatha is abandoned and Kinger goes off somewhere with Gangle and Zooble instead.
They All Get Guns[]
In the team adventure, Ragatha teams up with Kinger, not wanting him to get stuck with Jax. During the game, Kinger restores Ragatha's HP using a butterfly he conjured out of nowhere. Ragatha eventually loses all her lives and is sent to the Losers' Corner. Once Kinger is sent to the Losers' Corner too, he notices that Ragatha is upset, and asks her if she's alright. Ragatha is very sad, thinking that everyone hates her, that she failed Pomni and Jax, and that she tries too hard to get on peoples' good sides. Kinger tells Ragatha to let people do things their own way, but not giving up on them. Ragatha just wants everyone to be happy and she doesn't want people to hate her. Kinger tries to reassure her her saying he thinks nobody hates her, but she sadly mentions Jax does, and that Gangle and Zooble barely talk to her. Kinger asks if she hates herself, to which she remains in silence. Kinger admits he hated himself, thinking he was responsible for Queenie's abstraction and for other actions, but since. Ragatha showed up, he changed his whole perspective. Ragatha is pleasantly surprised at Kinger's wisdom, and even wonders how he has been able to stay in the circus for so long. Kinger happily mentions he has a resilient mind. Later on, they, along with Gangle, pretend to be cats.
Beach Episode[]
During their time at the beach, Kinger, Ragatha, and Pomni are seen playing ball in the water. At one point, when Kinger throws the ball to Ragatha, it accidentally hits her on the head, causing her button eye to fall off. Afterwards, the two are seen building a sandcastle together.
During the escape plan with Abel, Ragatha asks Pomni if she truly believes what he says, to which Pomni replies that she only wants to know what Kinger thinks of all this. Ragatha then smiles and says she was thinking the same thing. Seeing Ragatha's expression, Pomni asks how much she knows about Kinger, and Ragatha replies that she probably knows as much as everyone else, but that he helped her overcome her most difficult moments in the Circus. She then asks Pomni if it's strange that she says she trusts Kinger more than anyone else. Pomni says it's not strange, since she had a similar experience, and that Kinger must know more about the Circus than he lets on. Ragatha agrees, saying that he's the one who's been there the longest, but finds it strange that Abel isn't interested in him.
When they arrive at the administrator zone, Abel asks Pomni and Ragatha how many administrator passes he should get, and Pomni replies "six," to which Ragatha agrees. Abel then asks if they are sure about this, as allowing Kinger access to the main computer could be dangerous due to his mental state. Pomni then asks if it will be dark in there, and when Abel says it will probably be quite dark, she confirms that everyone will have a pass. Hearing Pomni say this, Ragatha seems to understand how Kinger manages to have his moments of sanity. Pomni then says she will place her trust in Kinger, to which Ragatha replies that he has a lot of wisdom within him.

- Ragatha – [Scoffs] "Jax does! Gangle and Zooble don't ever talk to me, and Pomni probably won't after today, either. She came to me wanting to be on my team. I said no. Why did I do that?"
- Kinger – "Maybe you just needed a break. It sounds to me like you put a lot of pressure on yourself to be there for everyone, and when you're not, you beat yourself up for it. You said you failed Pomni. W-Why do you feel that way?"
- Ragatha – "I don't know. I feel like every day, we're drifting further apart. Like she's seen through all my tricks and doesn't trust me anymore. Before I know it... she'll be a different person. One who doesn't even want me around."
- Kinger – "The way I see it, relationships are two-sided, and sometimes, it doesn't make sense to do all the heavy lifting when the other isn't in the mood. We all go through and deal with things differently, and sometimes, you just need to let people do things their own way -- as long as you're still there when they need you. Giving someone space should never be the same as giving up on them."
- Ragatha – "I don't even know what I want. I just want everyone to be happy. And I don't want people to hate me."

You need to look out for yourself in all this, too."

Fanon[]
DollChess is an extreme rarepair within the fanbase with only six romantic pairings on AO3 and over 100+ fictions as platonic. It's shown that the two are on very good terms and feel comfortable with each other. This could be due to their prolonged time in the circus together since both are confirmed to have spent the longest time in the digital plane; this is later pronounced and confirmed in They All Get Guns. They are also the oldest members of the circus crew with Kinger being forty-eight and Ragatha being thirty. This triggers the May-December Romance trope due to the eighteen year age gap.
Since Kinger mentioned his recollection of Ragatha's struggles to cope with the circus, it implies he was a source of emotional support for her. This can be believed after his trip with Pomni in The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor. Notably, both members are the characters known for ensuring everyone is mentally stable. This is said since Ragatha also worries about others emotional and mental health, even attempting to support the infamous Jax once.
Fans have been filled with theories and have reached a consensus that Kinger could be a father figure to Ragatha. Some go as far as theorizing the two are canonically relatives, similar to the BunnyDoll sibling headcanon. TikToks and fan art spurred into fruition, often captioned with how much of a supportive, heartwarming dad he is to her.
In a romantic light, the ship is heavily rivaled with Ragapom and the canonical pairing Checkmates. Since Kinger is known to be widowed, some may suggest Ragatha could be his next fiancée.
