DonGoof is the slash ship between Donald Duck and Goofy from the Mickey Mouse and Friends, Kingdom Hearts and DuckTales fandoms.

Canon

Donald and Goofy's relationship has always been bumbling idiot and angry straight man. Goofy will say or do something stupid and Donald will often scold Goofy for it, calling him a "big palooka". While Donald is annoyed at Goofy and his idiocy, they are still very best friends and Donald does care about Goofy. There were even classic Disney shorts that had only the two of them, as opposed to the short that had Donald, Goofy and Mickey as a trio.

Kingdom Hearts

Their relationship is more developed in the Kingdom Hearts series of games. In those games, Donald and Goofy work alongside Sora to save his friends from the Darkness. In Kingdom Hearts 2 when Goofy is killed by a falling rock saving King Mickey, Donald mourns Goofy's death, apologizing for the ice cream (alluding to an earlier scene). He cries and then rages, vowing to take revenge. When Goofy shows up later perfectly fine (He was actually knocked out cold), Donald hits him with his staff and tells him to never do that again.

The reverse happens in Kingdom Hearts 3 when Goofy runs to Donald when he passes out after using Zettaflare (A very powerful spell). He looks really upset but don't worry, Donald is fine.

DuckTales (2017)

In the Season 3 episode "Quack Pack", Donald made a wish to Gene the Genie that his family could be "normal" (which Gene interpreted as them being a nuclear sitcom family with boring adventures), with Goofy also being brought into the wish as Donald's "wacky best friend" and taking the role of the family photographer for the episode.

After Huey started noticing cracks in the sitcom reality, Donald quickly takes Goofy aside in order to prepare for the family photo, but also frets about how hard it is, being the only "normal" guy in a family full of wacky adventurers. Goofy then gives him a pep talk about how much he loves spending time with his son Max, showing him a picture reel of Goofy embarrassing his son while being the third wheel on a date with Roxanne, reminding Donald that hard times are better when you stay true to your family.

When the wish goes fully awry, with the live studio audience who has been watching them the whole time suddenly getting up and attacking the McDucks, Donald and Goofy get caught up in the fight, with them managing to defeat the audience with Donald's quick thinking and Goofy's comic relief, ending the wish. Though after everyone is brought back to their old reality, Goofy remains, revealing that he wasn't just a projection from the wish and that his decade-long friendship with Donald is indeed canon.

Kingdom Hearts 2

• Donald mourns over Goofy's death and seeks vengence.
• When Goofy turns out okay, Donald hits him and tells him to never do that again, as he was still depressed over losing Goofy.

Kingdom Hearts 3

• Goofy walks over to Donald after he uses Zettaflare and stays with him when Sora and Mickey go to fight the heartless.

Mickey Mouse (2013)

• Goofy switches bodies with Donald.
• Goofy in Donald's body says that Donald looks handsome.

Duck the Halls

• Goofy offers Donald hot cocoa to warm him up.

DuckTales (2017)

Quack Pack!

• Donald had wished for Goofy to be apart of his sitcom family as the comic relief,
• Goofy gives Donald a pep talk.
• Donald and Goofy fight together against the live audience.

Fanon

In terms of gay ships in the Mickey Mouse fandom, this ship is up there next to Donmick and The Three Caballeros (Panchito, Jose and Donald). It is the third most popular Donald Duck ship and the second most popular Goofy ship. While not a lot of fan fiction is made about the two, there is a lot of fanart made of them, usually depicting Goofy and Donald raising Huey, Dewey and Louie (and sometimes Max) together. The idea that Max used to babysit the triplets while Donald and Goofy hung out together is also popular, especially in the DuckTales fandom.

On the Kingdom Hearts side of the fandom, most fans jokingly refer to Donald and Goofy as Sora's parents since they're with him during the entire series.
