Doofenkota is the slash ship between Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Vinnie Dakota in the Milo Murphy's Law fandom.

Canon

Overview

Vinnie Dakota and Heinz Doofenshmirtz became the best of friends after they were both betrayed by their, former respective best friends. They met up at Skate Ashbury, where they vented their issues to each other and bonded over their similar situations. it was difficult for them to get accustomed to each other, as they were both very different from each others' former friends. Dakota was a lot more talkative than Perry and Doofenshmirtz didn't keep Dakota from doing anything stupid the way Cavendish used to. However, they eventually came to accept that they'll never be able to completely replace their former colleagues with a perfect copy and they were just going to have to acknowledge that change is a part of life. This helped Doofenshmirtz and Dakota to get along better and start a new friendship with each other. Interestingly, most of the time when Doof and Dakota hang out, they tend to spend a lot of their time eating and having discussions over a meal at a fast food restaurant.

Doofenshmirtz first met Dakota when he, Cavendish, Milo, Diogee, and Orton snuck into his building and got captured in Doofenshmirtz' snare trap.

ABDUCTING MURPHY'S LAW

Dakota had just been brainwashed by Cavendish after a huge fight between them, leading to Cavendish storming out and abandoning him, without telling him where he went. At this time, Doofenshmirtz had just cut all ties with Perry the Platypus, after finding out he had essentially just been getting paid to hang out with him, leading him to believe that their friendship wasn't genuine. Both down in the dumps, they went to Skate Ashbury and talked about their problems over pizza rolls.

LOOK AT THIS SHIP

Dakota and Doofenshmirtz cleaned up a huge mess they made in the ice cream store, thanks to one of Doofenshmirtz' inators going haywire. Dakota was sad that without Cavendish, he didn't know what to do with his life. Doofenshmirtz offered to help Dakota find him, since this is something that a good person would do. Dakota took Doofenshmirtz to his and Cavendish's former apartment, which is the last place he saw him, trying to find clues about where he went but they had no luck. They later went to Slushy Dawg, where Doofenshmirtz suggested that the best way to find Cavendish would be to think and act like him. Doofenshmirtz went through a bunch of ridiculous characters to try and emulate Cavendish's character but this wasn't making any progress. Dakota complained that he ate way too much food and blamed Doofenshmirtz for not stopping him from overeating, the way Cavendish used to do. Doofenshmirtz defended himself, saying that partners aren't supposed to stop you from doing stupid things. They're supposed to beat you up and blow up whatever you're working on, reflecting on his past rivalry with Perry the Platypus. The two of them got really annoyed with each others' failures to live up to expectations and insulted the way their voices sounded. They stormed off in different directions, only to immediately return, hungry for more Slushy Dawg. After engorging on more burgers and corndogs, Dakota and Doofenshmirtz were suffering from some severe stomach aches, even worse than before. After going through all of this, they had some clarity and apologized for the way they acted in their little falling out back there and were quick to forgive each other. Doofenshmirtz also had an epiphany and realized that he can't expect his new friend to act the same as his old friend, which Dakota agreed with completely. They knew that if they wanted their new friendship to work, they had to get used to each others differences. They also decided to stupidly eat some more food.

CAST PARTY

Doofenshmirtz and Dakota were both at Zack's cast party, where they told the story of how they broke their legs. They were eating at Melty McScoopsalot, where they were discussing whether or not things happened in the universe for a reason or if it was all chaos. Just then, the billboard for the restaurant came down and crushed both of them, which Doofenshmirtz declared aleatory.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Doofenshmirtz and Dakota sat with each other at Skate Ashbury again, telling each other the stories of how they first met Cavendish and Perry.

Fanon

When it comes to shipping, Doofenshmirtz and Dakota are somewhat of a rarepair, with only 2 fictions about them existing on AO3. However, they are far more popular as a friend ship, with 9 stories. This is likely due to the popularity of rival ships such as Cavenkota, Perryshmirtz, and Savota.

Their friendship was seen as a very genuine and likeable pairing in the canon of the series, due to both of them having been abandoned by their former partners at the time. People enjoyed how heartwarming it was for both of them to seek solace in each other and bring the gift of friendship back to each others' lives, when they were both down in a rut. The way how this friendship is very different from their previous friendships with Cavendish and Perry, also makes it original and gives it a unique vibe that couldn't have come from either of the previous pairings.

So much more of their friendship could have been explored but was unfortunately cut short due to the cancellation of Milo Murphy's Law. To make matters worse, due to Doofenshmirtz' network-mandated relapse to evil in the upcoming Phineas and Ferb reboot, it can be assumed that their newfound friendship has ended, almost as quickly as it started.
