Dragon Rose is the family ship between Ruby Rose and Taiyang Xiao Long from the RWBY fandom.
Canon[]
Ruby is Taiyang's younger daughter he had with Summer Rose. Though he sometimes annoys her, the two seem to have a healthy, happy father-daughter relationship. In the finale of volume 3, Taiyang is at Ruby's bedside when she wakes up and demonstrates relief when she regains consciousness. However, he seems hesitant to tell her more details when Ruby asks about what she could not remember. He then kisses her on the head before he leaves the room.
Later, when Taiyang discovers that Ruby left for Haven Academy, he madly dashes throughout the house, though he is unsuccessful in finding her. After several months have passed, in volume 4, it is shown that he wants to bring Ruby back home, but is unable to since he feels that he has to look after Yang.
Taiyang has not been in direct contact with either Yang or Ruby since that time. In volume 8 chapter 5 when Ruby broadcasts her message to all of Remnant Taiyang is shown to be watching her on the TV at their home. When her broadcast was cut off abruptly, he yelled out "No, come back!", before burying his face in his hands in despair. In Rwby Chibi volume 2 chapter 8 Taiyang attempts to make Ruby laugh by making a bad pun about how he tai-dyed his shirt. In episode 10 he constsntly tries to impress Ruby and Yang by how much of a cool dad he is. In episode 18, Tai tries to guilt-trip Ruby into fixing things for her. In season 3 episode 2 Ruby tries to help Tai setup a profile on a dating website. In episode 11 Tai is shown trying to give Ruby driving lessons.
Fanon[]
While Taiyang and Ruby are father and daughter, there have been fans who treat Dragon Rose as a Het ship. For some, they feature them as non-related or ship them as incest. Then there are those who strongly prefer to ship Dragon Rose as a family, and hate the idea of pairing them romantically due to them being father and daughter. Regardless, most people can agree that the two have a healthy loving father and daughter relationship. It has a small fanbase on tumblr.
