London Holiday[]
Durandal successfully deals with a Honkai outbreak in Dubai. Otto assigns Rita to investigate ruins relating to the 2nd Divine Key in Britain, since Rita is English. He also allows Durandal to take a holiday, which she chooses to go to London (Prologue). Before starting her mission, Rita shows Durandal around some places in London. While eating lunch out, Durandal remarks that Rita could probably make this food better. Rita gives her a reference book and wipes Durandal's face, then sets off on her mission (Ch 1).
While investigating the British Museum, Rita encounters a cat named Stan, who has transformed into an artificial Honkai beast thanks to a collar Jackal gave him. Rita later explains to Durandal that she was attacked by a large Honkai beast that must be targeting Schicksal. Durandal tells her she doesn't have to do this alone. Rita assures her she can handle it, so Durandal says she can call her for help any time (Ch 2).
Durandal and Rita pick up B rank Valkyrie Susannah from the airport, who has been sent as Rita's aide. Susannah fangirls at both the Valkyries, and assures Durandal she will keep Rita safe (Ch 4).
In a passageway in Glastonbury Tor, Rita is trapped away from Susannah and the museum curator, Catherine. Stan ambushes Rita, but is forced to retreat per Jackal's orders. Stan then encounters Durandal, who easily swats him away. Durandal breaks through the wall, meeting with Rita and Otto (who had been disguising himself as Susannah). (Ch 7) It turns out Otto had Durandal track Rita in case World Serpent set a trap. Rita says she is touched by Durandal's care. Rita wants to kill Stan since he is a Honkai beast, but Durandal convinces her and Otto to bring it back to HQ (Ch 8).
Otto successfully locates the 2nd Divine Key, sending Durandal to retrieve it. The ELF protecting the key had been preparing to cast the 2nd Key into the Sea of Quanta. Durandal, who is able to traverse the Sea for three minutes, jumped in to retrieve the key, which greatly worried Rita. One day after the mission, they have lunch in the Schicksal Gardens, reflecting on the mission. Durandal says this was quite the memorable holiday and that she hopes to experience another one with Rita as her guide (Ch 9).
Second Key[]
Durandal is transported into a bubble universe inside the 2nd Key where she meets Previous Era pioneer Su. As part of Su's trials, Durandal experiences Su's past by taking on his role. Here, the role of Su's close friend Kevin is represented by Rita. In the third trial, Durandal is faced with the same choice Su had, which is to seal away his friend to stop him from enacting Project Stigma. Much to Su's surprise, Durandal chooses to stand with Rita, giving her a hug and saying they will take on this burden together. While Su is distracted, Durandal uses the opportunity to break free from the dream world.
Once Durandal exits the bubble universe, Rita immediately hugs her, a deviation from her normally calm disposition.

In Chapter 8, Rita is ordered by Otto to help Fu Hua on her mission. Fu Hua wonders why Rita isn't with Durandal. Rita replies that she is indeed worried for Durandal's wellbeing, but she must follow the Overseer's orders. In Chapter 9, Rita and Fu Hua conflict because Fu Hua wants to stop the Herrscher of the Void, but Rita was ordered not to let Fu Hua interfere. Durandal arrives to stop the fight, and Rita obeys when Durandal tells her to stand down. Durandal lets Fu Hua go. Rita asks why, and Durandal replies it's her choice.

They point out Durandal and Rita don't need words for them to know what the other is thinking, an exemplification of how deeply they understand each other.
