EarthBound ships. This page is for ships with a lack of content, or for ships with minimal interactions. Please add as much content as you can to the sections below. Once a ship meets the requirements, you are welcome to create a page.
The current requirements for ship pages are:
- 20 sentences split between the canon and fanon sections, with content in both sections.
- One minimum link under the fandom section (e.g. AO3 tags, Tumblr links)
Please refrain from adding more than five images to a ship section, and refrain from adding any fan art. If you're unsure if a ship meets the requirements for a page, discuss with a member of our admin team.

Clausten[]
Clausten is the slash ship between Claus and Ninten.
Canon[]
Due to being from different games, Ninten and Claus have never met in canon. As for similarities between the two, both are young boys who wear a striped shirt, and have at least one sibling and a dog.
Fanon[]
Clausten arose from the shipping of Nesscas. Since Ness and Lucas as a pairing is so popular, the remaining two striped protagonists were put together. The ship is one of the most popular ships in the fandom, and the most popular ship for both Ninten and Claus, only rivaling the Lucas & Claus familyship. As a result of Clausten mostly coming out of Nesscas, the two ships are typically shipped alongside each other.
They tend to be portrayed as a more chaotic duo than Ness and Lucas, in part to both being energetic individuals. Claus and Ninten are often best friends who get up to shenanigans together.
While highschool AUs are the most prevalent, some AUs exist where Ninten has to fight against the Masked Man.

Flinawa[]
Flinawa is the het ship between Flint and Hinawa.
Canon[]
Flint was introduced to Hinawa by Lisa.
Flint and Hinawa are married and have two children.
In the prologue, Hinawa sends a letter to Flint telling him about how much fun they are having at her father's cabin, and that hopefully next time Flint can come too.
In Chapter 1, after the rain puts out the forest fire, Flint naturally helps in the effort to find the missing Hinawa and their kids. While searching, he finds a scrap of her dress on a tree. Upon finding it, he becomes a little more discouraged and anxious, and pockets it. After the kids were found, Bronson delivers the horrible news that he found Hinawa dead. Flint breaks down and though the Tazmily residents try to comfort him, he lashes out at them. Lighter knocks Flint out to stop him from hurting anyone else, and while unconscious, Flint dreams of the last time he saw Hinawa.
Hinawa is buried, and Flint faithfully visits her grave every day for over 3 years, often bringing her flowers. However, Flint is regarded as obsessive over Hinawa by multiple of the villagers.

Hinawa and Flint have twins, Lucas and Claus.

Fanon[]
As a canon and wholesome ship, Flinawa seems like it would be popular, but doesn't get a lot of recognition in the fandom. This is likely because Flint and Hinawa are only minor characters, and their history and relationship isn't explored very much, especially since Hinawa dies early on. Flint's reaction to Hinawa's death is viewed as a job well done of conveying the emotions he felt, and a real portrayal of how someone might feel in response to hearing their loved one has died so suddenly.
With the existence of the White Ship, some think that the two met when they were younger and first rode the ship. Due to the memory replacement aspect, a small number of people think the two of them could have been forced together, however most are in consensus that their love is genuine.

Trivia[]
- Flint and Hinawa's names match; Flint's name comes from a flintlock gun, and Hinawa's comes from the Japanese name for a matchlock gun (hinawajuu).
Jeffana[]
Jeffana is the het ship between Jeff and Ana.
Canon[]
Jeff and Ana have never met in canon, but they do have a few similarities. Both are blonde, live in a snowy place, and are rather weak physically.
Fanon[]
Jeffana is a rarepair since they have never met. They are mostly shipped because they live in similar places, and would be able to understand each other in that respect. The fact that they live in cold places gives way to headcanons that both of them are terrible at tolerating heat.
Both of them have had someone close to them kidnapped by Giygas, and they had to rescue them from a stasis tube; for Jeff, it was Tony, and for Ana, her mother. As this is something they have in common, they could find comfort in each other over it.
As for differences, Jeff is commonly headcanoned to be Atheist while Ana is a canon Christian, so this contrast in beliefs could be interesting, despite seeming like a relationship might not work out because of it.

Jeffpaula[]
Jeffpaula is the het ship between Jeff and Paula.
Canon[]
EarthBound[]
Despite being two of the four main characters in Earthbound, Paula and Jeff don't really have any notable interactions. When Paula and Ness are trapped together underground in Threed, Paula uses telepathy to call out for Jeff's help. Jeff promptly decides to go on the adventure to save these people he's never met.
MOTHER 2 novel[]
In Chapter 8, when a giant woolly caterpillar suddenly appears in front of Paula, she clings to Jeff in fright. Later on, when Paula is in helpless shock from a gigantic rock, Jeff tries to help her to her feet.
Fanon[]
A common headcanon is that Jeff has a crush on Paula while on their journey. In the case that Nesspaula doesn't work out, Jeff would try to go out with Paula or even eventually get together. However, some think they wouldn't be good together because Jeff doesn't have PSI and Paula needs someone like her to relate to. They are also sometimes seen as siblings, which may be because they both have blond hair. Jeffpaula rivals the aforementioned Nesspaula, as well as Jefftony.

Lloydjeff[]
Lloydjeff is the slash ship between Lloyd and Jeff.
Canon[]
Lloyd and Jeff have never met in canon, but they have many similarities. Both wear glasses, use guns and bottle rockets, and have high Wisdom/IQ.
Fanon[]
Jeff and Lloyd are shipped together for having the same role as the tech-savvy non-PSI user in their respective games.
Due to both having fathers who hide in trash cans, some theorize that Lloyd took after his father's habits and thus is actually Dr. Andonuts, Jeff's dad. A rarer theory is that Lloyd's dad is also Dr. Andonuts, which would make Lloyd and Jeff brothers.
