Einsla is the femslash ship between Lieserl Albert Einstein and Frederica Nikola Tesla from the Honkai fandom.
Canon[]
Einstein and Tesla are scientists who work together in Anti-Entropy, an organization established after Schicksal's North American Branch split completely from headquarters. In 1955, Einstein and Tesla were co-workers who used to cohabitate together in the Lab 42 of Imperial Institute in London.
Einstein usually teases Tesla in a variety of ways, but she thinks good of her, even calling her cute a few times. Tesla usually gets annoyed by Einstein's jokes, but she still tries to constantly get her attention and complains when she doesn't. Tesla likes to refer to Einstein as mophead due to her hairstyle, but it's not used as an insult, and Einstein doesn't mind that she calls her that. Also Tesla is one of the few people who refers to Einstein by her first name. Only Planck, who represents a mother figure to Einstein, used to call her Lieserl too.
Pre-Main Story[]
Anti-Entropy Visual Novel/Light Novel[]
The day after Welt Joyce is transferred to Lab 42, Dr. Tesla bursts into his room to introduce herself. There she discovers an empty plate that smells like her truffles, making her angry at Einstein for taking them. She also finds a welcome letter from Einstein written for him. After reading a couple of sentences, Tesla complains about Einstein not being polite with her too. Then she realizes that Einstein had the hidden intention of messing with her with the content of the letter. Finally, Tesla threatens Welt with castrating him if he dares to lay a finger on Einstein.
When they gather with Einstein, Tesla complains to her for taking her truffles without her permission, Einstein easily diverted the topic several times to distract Tesla from her anger. Due to Tesla's persistence, Einstein ends up kindly reminding her that the truffles were purchased with laboratory funds, shutting her up.
After Einstein receives Dr. Schrödinger's letter and the hidden message from Billings, Montana, she decides they have to travel back to North America. Einstein orders Welt to wake up Tesla in her room and inform her about it. When he does, Tesla starts complaining about Madam Planck's true intentions and claims Einstein and Lab 42 as hers.
On the car ride to the airport, Tesla scolds Einstein for reading a book instead of playing with her the last time they traveled by plane. Einstein tries to look away acting innocent and then admits, staring at her expressionlessly, that she got them a double room together. Tesla gets very excited, hugs the blue haired girl and says she loves Lieserl to death. In return, Einstein makes Tesla promise that they will only sleep together if she dresses appropriately after drinking and bathing. However, this is also overheard by the other people on board the car, the Finn and Joyce, so Tesla tries to cover it up by calling Lieserl a tease to undermine her credibility. Welt remembers how he accidentally found Tesla half naked in her room earlier and Tesla hits her before she says out loud what Einstein is referring to.
During their flight to New York, when Welt informs Einstein he's going to the plane's bathroom, she uses a slip of paper to write to Welt to avoid waking up Tesla, who's sleeping between them. In their first layover, Einstein and Tesla go together to a lingerie store without the company of Welt Joyce and the Finn. Tesla buys a dress in the airport for Einstein. She puts it on before boarding the flight to Chicago, even if it doesn't fit her clothes style. Tesla paid for it completely even though she's been having money issues. During the flight, Tesla plays Texas Hold'em Poker with the boys, but ends up raising her voice angrily after they both fold consecutively. Tesla blushes when she wakes Einstein up accidentally, but she tells her not to worry and asks for chocolate. In the end, Tesla snatches the chocolate chips from the Finn and Welt and gives them to Einstein.
Once they make it to their destination in Billings, they find Madam Planck and Dr. Schrödinger waiting for them. Professor Planck is happy to see her Baby Lieserl, hugging her too tightly to the point of suffocating her. The action triggered Tesla at first, so she looked at her with a sour look and complained about her squeezing Einstein. Planck ignores her and kisses Einstein's forehead. The kiss triggers Tesla even more, exploding in rage, but Planck counterattacks asking what's wrong since they all are girls, and winks to Einstein.
On their way to Yellowstone Lake, Einstein and Tesla can be seen sleeping together in the van with Tesla's head on Einstein's shoulder. When Schrödinger sees Einstein awake, she tells her where they are at the moment. Planck suggests she should let them both sleep, but Einstein complains that Tesla has already slept enough, calling her drunkard and hitting her on the head to wake her up. Tesla groans due to the abrupt way of being woken up. Einstein gives her a disapproving look and scolds her for getting drunk the night before and being hungover.
After arriving at their destiny and entering the Duck Lake ruins, Einstein is the only one that notices a low high-pitched noise, thanks to her sharp hearing from her younger age. To find the source of the mosquito tone, she closes her eyes and right away, it'z Tesla who grabs her arm to guide her along the path. The noise takes them to a room deep in the ruins where they find a message written in the ceiling: "To the young that came here, I leave the last Soulium to you. Knight of Maiden Castle, H. Londinium Doire A". Not fully understanding the meaning of the message, Tesla and Schrödinger argue about whether the Soulium has been relocated or simply stolen. When Tesla runs out of arguments, Einstein intervenes, finding out the location of the Soulium in the message: Londinium was the old name of Londonderry in Ancient Rome and it's also known as Doire, Maiden City and Castle. After the discovery, Tesla looks admiringly at Einstein.
In their visit to Londonderry, Tesla gets upset because Einstein and Joyce are whispering with each other. Einstein translates to Welt exactly what Tesla is asking and explains how he could answer her, catching her interest once she knows the conversation topic.
One night during their "quasi-holidays", Welt stays awake to wait for Tesla to come back home. Einstein instead is used to Tesla going partying until late-night. She went upstairs to clean up Tesla's room as her own way of caring about her. When Tesla wakes up the next day, Einstein teases her, reminding her what she's done yesterday night. Once she had returned home she started to flirt with Welt when she was still drunk. Tesla's face turns red and she tries to hide under the sofa while Welt awkwardly shakes his head. Einstein says that person is "pure and innocent". Tesla doesn't get at first who she’s referring to until Einstein calls her cute and makes her completely flustered, covering her face.
On their way to the West Cliff Rita Resort, it's Tesla who drives Einstein and Welt after getting her license back. Upon arrival, both Einstein and Welt feel motion sickness, but Tesla reacts in different ways. Tesla shows concern for Einstein and offers to piggyback her, but yells at Welt that no one cares about him. Nevertheless, during their stay in the villa, Tesla tries to improve her relationship with Welt giving him some comfort. This gets Einstein's attention so Tesla asks for her praises. Einstein laughs at first and then calls her cute again, making Tesla stutters. Next morning, Einstein wakes up in the hotel room which she shares with Tesla. While she's asleep, Einstein broods about Nancy Thomas Edison, someone Tesla had problems with in the past. Einstein believes she's turned people around her such as Tesla into a tool to achieve her own desires. She recognizes that Tesla also lets her emotions drive her decisions as Nancy, but Einstein thinks she's much cuter while she looks at her sleeping. After that Einstein goes back to sleep again.
Second Eruption[]
Einstein sees Salome and Shub having a little quarrel. Their interaction and personalities reminds her of Tesla and herself. After that, they both wait for each other's call.
During their fight with Honkai beasts summoned by Sirin, Tesla calls Einstein from her mecha to report the situation in battle. Then they discover that Welt succeeded alive in his mission on the moon with Siegfried. Tesla asks Einstein to stay alive, including Joachim, and she promises her that they will be meeting soon again.

Main Story[]
Under the Falling Sky[]
In order to save Kiana and fight the Herrscher of Void, Theresa allies with Anti-Entropy. For the mission Einstein and Tesla worked in separated groups, but numerous times they express worry about each other when they lost connection. Himeko and Tesla found information about the Spear of Destiny, a serum able to eliminate Honkai. Tesla puts her life at risk injecting Honkai in her arm to test it in herself. After being out of danger and checking the efficacy of the serum, Tesla brags that she is a true genius, right as Einstein says.
Elegy to Yesterday[]
When Tesla goes to Nagazora with Mei to find Kiana, she criticizes Raven and the situation of the city, mentioning that this is messier than Einstein's bedroom at the moment. The next morning while Mei tries to wake up Tesla, she asks half-dreaming what happens to Einstein instead. She was dreaming about having a trip to Alpha Centauri with her.
After finding out Kiana's weak condition and lifespan, Tesla also gets very shocked. When Mei leaves, Einstein tries to comfort Tesla to make her feel better. Later, Mei eavesdrops on Einstein and Tesla's conversation with Kiana. Tesla notices and apologizes for Einstein's words sounding too harsh.
Remaining Flames[]
Einstein asks Seele a favor to buy the goods for the AE 60th Anniversary. Einstein turns sad when she confesses that Tesla told her to stay out of the task because she doesn't trust Einstein's taste. Later Seele and Bronya comment about the special interaction Einstein and Tesla have during work.
Thus Spoke Apocalypse[]
In Salt Lake Base, Einstein has a talk with Fu Hua about people who was important for her and reveals she feels lucky to have good people like Tesla.
After Otto's retirement announcement as Overseer, the Schicksal Valkyries organize a meeting to know how to proceed. As usual, Einstein is being called as mophead by Tesla, but she demanded her to be referred as "Dr. Einstein" in front of others. Later, Einstein requests that Tesla accompanies Durandal and Theresa. She also praises Tesla's mech piloting skills. This makes Tesla complain because no one asked her opinion about it. Einstein teases her asking her if she wants to stay to attend Otto, which annoys Tesla. Tesla decides to leave to not lower herself to Einstein's level, making her laugh. Later when they regroup during Otto call, Einstein is the one covering Tesla’s mouth to avoid her free her anger.
While Tesla prepares the experiment for the Honkai core, she asks Einstein to share the memo she wrote. Einstein belittles it saying it was only a conjecture, but Tesla believes she's right even before proving it with the experiment. Apparently, Einstein and Tesla have their own writing code based on difficult equations that only they understand. Einstein asks Theresa to give Tesla a note in that code in Kolosten with the things she needed for one of her experiments.
When Theresa decides to work with Amber, Einstein accepts it but also warns that she won't forget what she's done to them. The moment Tesla sees Amber with Theresa she stays quiet at first but ends up welcoming her help too without questioning. She trusts Einstein has told her the same she wanted to say and adds that Einstein has a good temper and expresses herself better.
In Kolosten, a kid named Oulis asks the player to guess the genre of the story he's writing. If the answer selected is a romance novel, he'll tell the story of Dr. Lobster trying to save Dr. Mophead[1].
The Day of Transcending Finality[]
In Salt Lake Base, while Einstein and Tesla are working together to fight the Project Stigma Einstein mentions the motto of lab 42. Tesla remembers that wasn't the spirit of the lab, but Einstein's excuse to eat junk food that's written in their kitchen. The failed teasing caused Einstein to blush, but she is only like her younger self when she is around Tesla.

Fanon[]
Einsla is known in the fandom because they often appear together many times in the main story. They also tend to appear together in a variety of game events and official manga. Nevertheless, when their ship gained popularity was due to the unofficial English translation of Anti-Entropy visual novel in 2021, four years later than it came out in Chinese and three years than Japanese. Einstein and Tesla have known each other for 60+ years, being coworkers almost all their lives. They are used to cohabitating and even shared hotel rooms together. They both usually act like a comedy duo where Einstein teases Tesla triggering her tsundere personality. However, several interactions remark how important they are for each other, such as Einstein acting only as her younger self with Tesla around. Despite their deep bond, Einsla is still considered a rarepair due to them being secondary characters.
With the release of Part 2 of Honkai Impact 3rd it's expected to see them again due to Coralie (Einstein's adoptive daughter) being one of the main protagonists. There's also the possibility of them appearing in Honkai: Star Rail after being together in Welt Yang splash art and the close relationship they both have with him.

Trivia[]
- A small Tesla drawn with chalk can be seen in Einstein Stigmata (M).
- When Einstein interacts with the bookshelf in the dorms she picks a manga made by Tesla and says it is elegant and very romantic as her. She also confesses she'd be very happy seeing somebody reading it.
- In the Previous Era, Dr. EINSTEIN wears red glasses as Tesla and has a lock dyed with Tesla's hair color.
- Tesla and Einstein share almost the same description of their Stigmata Memory Clip 1, with the difference that Tesla's titles are self-styled.
- There’s a comment of Tesla in the enemy data of Basic Jun-Ninja where she recalls Einstein due to her haircut. Paralelly, Einstein does the same in Basic Lich entry because Tesla shares the same hairstyle.
- In the first chapter of Gemina Invasions Manga, Tesla has an Einstein keychain on her phone.
- During the story of the Honkai Impact 3rd x Evangelion Event their relationship seems deeper. Tesla refers to Einstein as Lieserl and it's the only moment that Einstein calls her as Frederica.
- It seems common for them to apologize for the other's behaviour. This is seen when Tesla apologizes to Mei for Einstein's harsh words in Nagazora arc and when Einstein apologizes for Tesla's infiltration in the Spring Feast Event.
- They've shown they know each other very well. Einstein knows different situations that trigger Tesla's anger such as being interrupted while she's hacking or bringing her damaged equipment. On the other hand, Tesla knows to read Einstein's expressionless face easily, as she did guessing her worry during the HoD arc.
- From a few dialogues in the dorms and Gemina Invasions Event, it's revealed that Tesla enjoys eating sweets with Einstein[2].
- As it's shown in Once Upon a Time in Shenzhou story, Tesla has access to Einstein's credit card. She invested all Einstein's money in her own fireworks to make more money and defends herself saying "I did it for us".
