- I may not know what the 'right' thing to do is yet... But I hope we can figure it out together. By combining our strengths, our skills, and our knowledge, I'm sure we can make it through this. I'll fight alongside you from now on. Whenever you need me... I'll be there. You can count on me, Takumi-kun.
- —Eito to Takumi at the end of Day 7 (Route 0)
Eitaku is the slash ship between Eito Aotsuki and Takumi Sumino from the The Hundred Line fandom.
Canon[]
Takumi is the main protagonist of the game while Eito is one of the main characters. They are both "students" at the Last Defense Academy, which they were forcibly transferred into by Sirei, the school's "headmaster."
In his character profile, Eito is described as "Takumi's most trusted ally."[1] Eito initially avoided fighting, due to his distrust towards Sirei and the Hemoanima powers, but decides to join the frontlines officially after Takumi and the others saved him.
Route 0[]
During their first meeting, Eito proceeds to ask a lot of questions about Takumi's life, practically to the point of coming off as noisy. When Takumi tells him to slow down, Eito apologizes, mentioning that he had been hospitalized throughout his life and as a result he isn't particularly good at socializing. (In the localization, some of the things that Eito asked Takumi - what his favorite manga and game were, as well as if he belongs to a school club - were cut out, with a line about Eito asking Takumi if he is single added in instead.) Takumi reassures he's doing fine and not overcompensating, and promises to tell Eito if he ever does anything strange. In his thoughts, Takumi wonders if Eito is doing fine and was properly discharged from the hospital, as he doesn't have any visible scars or injuries.
After Sirei reveals what is on the line if the students don't fight the Invaders and leaves, Eito tells Takumi to not feel scared, and speculates that Sirei was most likely lying, in order to get the students deployed on the frontlines. The two then discuss their situation, and Eito mentions how he can feel his condition becoming worse with how anxious he feels.
Later in the evening, Eito suddenly mentions feeling faint, and Takumi immediately asks if he's okay. Eito assures he'll be fine and that "the symptoms come and go."
At the school's entrance hall, Takumi finds Eito investigating the area. Sirei pops in and explains that there's a "whole lotta nothing" on the other side of the flames but students are free to go through them and leave if they "need a change of scenery." He then leaves, and Eito points out something he examined before - special model fire extinguishers next to the school's entrance. On cue, Sirei pops in again and Eito asks Sirei to repeat what he told Eito about the fire extinguishers. After Sirei explains everything again and leaves, Eito confidently says they have some hope about escaping back home. When Takumi asks if he wasn't listening to Sirei's words, Eito counters how he really can't believe anything that Sirei says. Takumi, in his thoughts, finds it hard to determine whether Eito is making the right call on Sirei.
The next morning, Takumi finds Eito standing outside his room. Eito greets him before grasping his chest, and Takumi in return asks if he's okay. Eito reassures the other, that his body always takes some time to get used to change. Takumi thinks that Eito doesn't look okay and hopes being in the academy isn't making his illness worsen.
On Day 4, after Sirei still hadn't returned, Eito suggests they should start looking all over the school for him. Takumi is surprised by his suggestion, and Eito says while he still doesn't believe Sirei's words, they should still try finding him. Eventually, Eito questions whether they should follow Sirei's rules, and that since he isn't around, they should take the risk and venture outside the school to find a way back home.
On Day 6, after hearing that Eito really had taken one of the fire extinguishers and gone beyond the school grounds, Takumi, Darumi and Takemaru embark on a rescue mission. They eventually find him on the ground, surrounded by Invaders, and after rescuing him, Takumi carries him back to the school on his back. While carrying him, Eito wakes up, questioning why Takumi and the others saved him instead of just leaving him to die, as a payback for doing something so risky. Takumi answers that they'd never do something like that to a friend and that they're all in this together. Eito goes quiet for a bit, before thanking the three, and talks how he wanted to find a way for everyone to escape, but as he ventured outside the school grounds, he found nothing but the things Sirei had mentioned before. Eito faints again and after they reach the school, Takumi carries him to his room and tells him to rest for time being.
On Day 7, after another wave of Invaders attacks the school, Eito joins the frontlines just in time to save the others, and mentions it was due to Takumi's words from the previous day that helped him make up his mind. After the battle, at night, Takumi is in his thoughts suspecting Sirei's words about them being able to return to their loved ones after 100 days, before hearing his doorbell ring. He finds Eito on the other side of the door, who proceeds to thank Takumi for everything and drop one of his speeches about friendship. Eito then promises that Takumi can count on him for anything, and the two shake hands, before Eito expresses feeling a bit sick, and Takumi tells him to go rest. The two wish each other a good night, after which Takumi thinks back on Eito's words, agreeing that as bad as things are, they aren't alone now.
When Eito wants to convince Hiruko not to kick out the non-fighters, he goes to Takumi for help, saying that he always feels better with Takumi and that he had a way with words. After their leader dies, Eito asks Takumi to be the new one. He says he thinks Takumi would do a wonderful job because he was considerate of others, had everyone's backs, and never gave up hope. Eito even adds that he'd be proud to follow someone like Takumi, making Takumi blush. In turn, Takumi later says that Eito would make a great leader.

On Day 55, Takumi and Eito are talking together in the Courtyard during the surprise fireworks party. Following Takumi's words, Eito proceeds to enthusiastically compliment him. He then blurts out how wonderful it is for two guys to be able to talk about their true feelings under fireworks, and how that must be what it means to be best friends. Takumi, in return, blushes and remarks Eito is being super corny, while in his thoughts thinks it doesn't feel all that bad being showered with compliments by him.

Instead of sparing Eito for a second time and letting him tell the truth about their true mission on the planet after he was nearly killed by V'ehxness, Takumi proceeds to finish Eito off. While arguing with Takumi and taunting him before his "execution," Takumi plunges his sword through to deliver the final blow as he yells out Eito's name. To his shock, Eito's cryptoglobin starts immediately flowing into Takumi on its own, despite Takumi's protests and attempts to stop it. Immediately after, he is hit by a strange and violent feeling coursing through his body, and following up the conversation between the team and Sirei, Takumi returns to his room to rest. However, he is struck between doubting his choice to kill Eito and trying to rationalize it by telling himself how the latter was going to find a way to make everyone suffer again, before feeling the same sensation hit his head, leading to him having hate-filled thoughts.

Eito taunting Takumi in his mind
The next morning, Takumi wonders why he's feeling worse in comparison to yesterday and how his head hurts, but decides to go to the cafeteria after looking at his reflection in the mirror. To his utter shock, he ends up encountering Eito who enters the cafeteria after him. After hearing more footsteps approaching the cafeteria entrance, he attempts to call for help but is horrified to see three more Eitos enter the room. When the fourth Eito asks if Takumi is feeling okay and the rest of them offer their help to Takumi, he bolts out and returns to his room, attempting to get more rest. Instead of getting a peaceful rest, he finds himself face-to-face with Eito in a space identical to his own room. Eito taunts him in his usual style and Takumi, in disbelief, asks if he's in a dream. Eito laughs at him and calls his question a "very Takumi thing to say," before making Takumi wake up with the snap of his fingers. Takumi initially dismisses it as a nightmare but as Eito welcomes him back to the same setting, Takumi slowly starts learning what is happening - that Eito now exists in his head, how his consciousness was transferred upon Takumi killing him, and as a result ended up developing a cognitive disorder nearly identical to Eito's, which causes him to perceive all of his friends as Eitos. Eito then proposes a challenge - Takumi must find and kill the hidden 11th Eito, an illusion created by his remaining hemoanima, within a few days or Eito will completely overtake his body. Takumi reluctantly accepts the challenge, followed by Eito's teasing, and during his first try sets on to look for his friends around the academy and ask them for clues. However, due to Eito's influence on his mind, he ends up twisting everything they say towards him, eventually leading to Takumi returning to his room in frustration.

Moments[]
- Route 0
- While in the fake dating sim world, Eito is worried over Takumi losing his memory and asks if he's feeling okay. Yugamu then teases him, saying he really must like Takumi, leading to Eito quickly denying it.
- Free Time
- During a Student Activity, Eito wants to bring the Ration-o-Matic back to the Tokyo Residential Complex because he can't keep such convenient technology away from others. Takumi thinkss that he's always thinking of others and that he himself could stand to learn from Eito's thoughtfulness.
- Another time, Eito excitedly shares his knowledge of scythes with Takumi over the course of several hours.
- Goodbye Eito
- As Eito sits in the Second Last Academy's cafeteria, he thinks back when he rejected Takumi's suggestion of him staying at the Last Defense Academy, after Eito himself was rejected from re-joining the Special Defense Unit. While reminiscing Takumi's words, Eito mentions how they made him waver for a bit and that he wanted to cling to them, selfishly believing he had been fully forgiven and given a full chance to redeem himself.
Quotes[]
- “(This guy seems pretty easygoing. I'd never pegged him for the socially awkward type, but I guess being isolated from others will do that for you.)”
- — Takumi's first impression of Eito, after their introductions
- Eito – “I can't remember the last time I was around this many people... It really puts things into perspective.”
- Takumi – “Are you going to be all right? Let me know if there's anything I can do, okay?”
- Eito – “...I will. Thank you.”
- — Day 1 (Route 0)
- “Don't get met wrong. I'm not here because I suddenly believe everything Sirei told. But... Something you said got through to me, Takumi-kun. Even if we disagree on some matters... we're still friends. I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to hear that. It's been a long time since anybody's thought of me as a friend.”
- — Eito on Day 7 (Route 0)
- Eito – “I just... wanted to say thank you. With all the craziness today, I never got the chance to tell you how grateful I am.”
- Takumi – “You're exaggerating... If anything, I should be thanking you for bailing us out when the commander has us pinned down.”
- Eito – “You saved my life, Takumi-kun. I'll never forget what you've done for me.”
- Takumi – “Seriously, it's fine. You don't have to go all dramatic on me...”
- — Day 7 (Route 0)
- “I'm not very good at making friends, so I tend to spend a lot of time in my own head. Maybe that's made me a little stubborn... But thanks to your actions, I've managed to realize something very important. Sometimes, it may seem like we're all alone in the world, helpless to fight back against the forces that control our destinies. But the thing is... we're not alone. Not really.”
- — Eito to Takumi at the end of Day 7 (Route 0)
- Eito – “Aw, hello Takumi-kun. What a pleasure to see you first thing in the morning.”
- Takumi – “(You're making it sound like we woke up together...)”
- — Day 20 (Route 0)
- Eito – “Why don't you do it, Takumi-kun? I think you'd do a wonderful job.”
- Takumi – “Me? You've got to be kidding! I'm not leader material!”
- Eito – “I disagree. You're considerate of others, you always have our backs in battle, and you never give up hope. I'd be proud to follow someone like you.”
- Takumi – “Knock it off, you're making me blush... I'm telling you, I don't handle responsibility well.”
- Eito – “Well, if you don't want to, I won't force you... But leader or no leader, we'll still be there for each other when it counts. That's what being friends is all about. Whatever happens, we'll be okay... Right?”
- Takumi – “Right... We'll find a way to make it work.”
- — Day 20 (Route 0)
- “But I can't just sit here and do nothing...! Takumi-kun saved me before... in more ways than one. Now it's my turn to do the same for him.”
- — Eito on Day 29 (Route 0)
- Eito – “There really is something... special about you.”
- Takumi – “Nah, I just got lucky...”
- Eito – “Don't be so modest. When times are tough you shine like the sun, chasing away the shadows and warming our hearts. Whether we're drowning in the depths of despair or tossed around by the winds of chance, it always works out in the end. And that's because we have you here, bringing us together and showing us the way forward.”
- Takumi – “Aotsuki, are you sure you're all right...? Maybe you should lie down.”
- — Day 39 (Route 0)
- Takumi – “You haven't been coming to the Cafeteria lately. Are you okay?”
- Eito – “Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for thinking of me. You're such a nice guy, Takumi-kun... Really... just too nice...”
- Takumi – “Huh? What's gotten into you all of a sudden?”
- — Day 91 (Route 0)
- Eito – “All that stuff about the future... Is it really true? What have you done, Takumi-kun...?”
- Takumi – “You don't need to know that. You'll only try to use anything I tell you against me anyway. It's over, Aotsuki. I won't let you destroy humanity.”
- Eito – “You're going to kill me, then? Is that what you're saying?”
- Takumi – “...”
- Eito – “Hehe... You seem like such a nice guy, too. You must really hate me. What did I do to deserve such malice, Takumi-kun? Think about it—I haven't actually done anything! Are you really going to take my life because of something you think I might do?”
- — Day 2 (after Takumi travels back in time)
- Eito – “What do you say, Takumi-kun? Why don't you stay and chat a while? I can help you in other ways, too. I've spent most of my life reading—there's bound to be something useful I can teach you.”
- Takumi – “Are you serious? I thought I looked like some kind of hideous monster to you.”
- Eito – “You do! The sight of your face and the sound of your voice make me want to puke. But at the same time, I find you fascinating. I suppose I... respect you for what you've done. It's such a novel sensation, feeling this way about a human being. I loathe you so much I can't stand it, but... I think I like you, too.”
- — Day 4 (Second Scenario)
- “Yes, Takumi-kun... There's something I want to talk to you about, my dearly loathsome friend.”
- — Eito on Day 48 (Second Scenario)
- Eito – “I'll accompany you even if you refuse me. I'll follow your scent to the end of the world...”
- Takumi – “Okay, fine. You can help me.”
- Eito – “Thank you, Takumi-kun. As much as I loathe you, I'm starting to like you more with each passing day.”
- — Day 84 (Second Scenario)
- “The Aotsuki I'd been spending the past few days with isn't the Aotsuki I once knew. The guy who pretended to be kind so he could trick us... The guy who later showed us how insane he was... The guy who hated humanity so much he joined the invaders... The Aotsuki here now isn't any of those. I've never seen this side of him before. I still can't forgive him for what he's done. But he's clearly changing, growing into a different person than the one who betrayed us. Maybe I really can put my trust in him.”
- — Takumi on Day 84 (Second Scenario)
- “Despite myself, I couldn't get Aotsuki out of my mind, and I fell asleep while still thinking about him.”
- — Takumi on Day 84 (Second Scenario)
- “Farewell, Takumi-kun... You know... until the very end... I loathed, despised, hated... And deeply loved you.”
- — Eito on Day 100 (Second Scenario)
- Eito – “Yesterday, I saw you cut off ties with those foolish humans of your own free will. You refused to help with the invasion any further and chose to protect the people of this planet. That was beautiful... So beautiful, I almost wept. It made me want to fight by your side. That's all there is to this, I swear.”
- Takumi – “...All right. I'm going to trust you one last time.”
- Eito – “Wait, what? That was all it took for you to trust me again? How did a monster as ugly as you come to have such a heart of gold?”
- Takumi – “Who's the real monster here, traitor? Still, we have no right to call you a traitor now that we've turned against humanity ourselves. We were born the same way and now stand in the same position... What's more, we now share the same feelings. I think all that's reason enough to call you an ally.”
- — Day 78 (Rebellion)
- Eito – “Back again? How nice to see you, Takumi-kun. It's quite pleasant in here, but I do get rather bored.”
- Takumi – “Pleasant? That cage?”
- Eito – “It's practically heaven to me. It means I don't have to see or hear any ugliness.”
- Takumi – “Then it's odd that you'd be happy to see me. It must be unbearable for you to hear and see me.”
- Eito – “Heheh... You're special, Takumi-kun. Your intrigue outweighs your ugliness.”
- — Day 35 (Casual)
- Eito – “Well done, Takumi-kun. You killed her with your own two hands!”
- Takumi – “Shut the hell up...”
- Eito – “Of course, how could it go any other way? How heroic you are with the power you got from sacrificing her. A shame I'm going to kill you anyway! Ahhhh, you gotta love it!”
- Takumi – “SHUT UP! I'm going to KILL YOU!”
- Eito – “I'm so glad you have such strong feelings for me, Takumi-kun! Then let's do it! Let's kill each other! In this moment, here and now... It's just you and me!”
- — Ending 048
- Takumi – “Okay, fine. I'll do it. I'll accept your challenge or whatever.”
- Eito – “I didn't have to offer you this chance, you know? I'm doing you a favor here. Couldn't you act a little more grateful? Maybe say 'Please allow me to take your challenge' instead?”
- Takumi – “...Please allow me to take your challenge.”
- Eito – “Wow, you actually said it! I was only kidding! You're so easy to fool, Takumi-kun. It's no wonder I got the best of you in your last timeline.”
- — Day 58 (Multiple Eitos Route)
- “You regret killing me as quickly as you did, don't you? I'll bet you wanted to draw it out a little longer. A slapdash murder like that wasn't enough to satisfy your hatred, was it? You wanted to see me writhe in pain, crying and pleading for forgiveness. You wanted to torture me relentlessly, again and again and again, until I begged for death. That's how you really wanted to kill me, isn't it? Now that I'm no longer registered in the Revive-O-Matic, you'd have to get really creative to keep me right on the border of life and death. That's prboably too much for a feeble brain like yours to handle. Would you like me to give you some ideas? It's the least I can do for my worst enemy.”
- — Eito on Day 58 (Multiple Eitos Route)
- Eito – “You're not giving up yet, are you? What are you going to try next?”
- Takumi – “Why even ask? You can tell what I'm thinking, right?”
- Eito – “Oh please, you think I've been reading your thoughts to get the jump on you? I'd rather die than go poking around in your nasty little mind!”
- — Day 59 (Multiple Eitos Route)
- Takumi – “I think I'll try hanging this time. It won't leave a very pretty corpse... But I look hideous to you anyway, so it barely makes any difference.”
- Eito – “And people call me crazy... You're far more unhinged than I could ever be.”
- Takumi – “I'll take that as a compliment. I don't usually think about morbid stuff like this, so you'll have to forgive me if I run out of ideas. Even if I end up killing myself the same way several times, you'll have to stick with me to the very end anyway.”
- Eito – “S-Seriously... What do you think this is going to achieve...?”
- Takumi – “You're dead, Aotsuki. I'm just trying to remind you of that.”
- — Ending 009
- Takumi – “Ready for another...?”
- Eito – “You're a demon... No normal person would even think of doing something like this... What happened to you?”
- Takumi – “I don't mind becoming a demon, so long as it gets rid of you.”
- Eito – “Ahaha... What admirable hatred. You might hate me just as much as I hate humanity. Maybe I'm rubbing off on you after all.”
- Takumi – “You are not!”
- Eito – “I wonder... if I disappear, who are you going to direct all that hatred toward? You're only fighting the invaders out of duty. Your hate for ME is what gives this war meaning. Do you really want to lose that?”
- Takumi – “What a very 'Aotsuki' way to beg for your life.”
- — Ending 009
- Eito – “Yes, that's it... I did this all for you, you know. To help you become the real you.”
- Takumi – “Shut your damn dirty mouth!”
- Eito – “Ooh, so scary. You're really letting the hate take over now. But it's still not enough. Your blade will never reach me like that. Embrace it even further, Takumi-kun! Give in to hate, the strongest emotion of them all! The one thing that unites you and me!”
- Takumi – “I'll... kill you...”
- Eito – “Yes, kill me! Fill me with your hatred!”
- — Day 62 (Multiple Eitos Route; path to Endings 011 and 012)
- “Sometimes, when I'm all alone at night... I can't help thinking about Aotsuki. But there's no use regretting my choices now... I just have to keep moving forward.”
- — Takumi on Day 28 (Comedy Route)
- “Shall we have a little chat, Takumi-kun? You have to tell me what I want to know first. Like the sensation you felt when you killed those people... The feeling of bathing in the warm blood of your victims... That squelching sound was so nice and satisfying, wasn't it? It's not so bad to be caught if I can get to see you looking like that. But I'm nowhere done yet. Don't think you can get away from that ugly soul of yours for even a moment. I'll be sure to remind you of your sin from now on. Every. Single. Day.”
- — Eito on Day 86 (Killing Game)
- Takumi – “You... You haven't changed at all... You're still a liar! A traitor! An untrustworthy scumbag!”
- Eito – “Oh, I feel so terribly wounded. Maybe it would make me feel better if I told everyone about your little trips through time...”
- Takumi – “...”
- Eito – “Apologize. On your hands and knees. Put that low, sloping forehead of yours on the ground. Then scream about how sorry you are, with tears streaming down your face. Do that, and I might forgive you.”
- — Day 36 (S.F Route)
- Takumi – “And what do we look like to you?”
- Eito – “Hmm... How can I explain it? [...] You look like a half-rotted cherry tomato that's been left in the back of the refrigerator too long.”
- Takumi – “He's still glitched!”
- Eito – “Haha, that was a joke. In truth, you're a beautiful young man with a dignified face, full of courage and passion.”
- Takumi – “*blush* ...”
- — Day 46, after Eito is fully "cured" (S.F Route)
Fanon[]
Eitaku is one of the most popular ships in the fandom. The ship caught the attention of the fanbase starting from September 2024 with the Hundred Line booth during TGS 2024 (TOKYO GAME SHOW 2024), where a particularly suggestive CG of the two was previewed. With the release of the demo, which covered the first seven days of the game and gave plenty of moments between the two, the ship started gaining more fans.
Pre-release, due to his Japanese voice actor commenting that Eito is "a very unpredictable person," and many theorizing what Eito's actual illness is, there was also speculation about Eito possibly becoming yandere towards Takumi or some kind of plot regarding jealousy or attachment issues happening.
Following the release of the game and the reveal of Eito's true nature, while many were surprised about the twist and what it meant for the Eitaku ship, a lot of the fans also welcomed it and were pleased about the ship's toxic yaoi nature, seeing it as a breath of fresh air following Komahina and Saiouma, which the ship had been previously compared to, especially pre-release. Some also see it as a "doomed yaoi" ship due to the fate of their relationship in various routes in the game.
It is currently the most written ship under the Hundred Line tag on AO3.
In the Eastern fandom, the ship is most commonly referred to as "Eitaku" and "Takuei(to)", depending on the ship order. While "Aotsumi" was a more popular alternative in the Western fandom, especially pre-release, it has since been overtaken by "Eitaku".

Trivia[]
- Their ship is referred to with the combination of "🟦🌙🌊" emojis, with the blue and moon emojis representing Eito (as his surname means "(the) blue moon"), and the wave emoji representing Takumi (as the second kanji for his given name means "ocean").
- Their ship name, or rather a version of it, is directly mentioned by Eito in Ending 11, where he says the line "[...] You and I are one now, after all... Like a clear, empty field lit by a pale blue moon." or "澄み渡った野に浮かぶ蒼い月のように" in Japanese. In this case, Takumi's surname is referenced (as the first kanji in it means "clear", and the second one means "field".)
- They have a height difference of 16 cm, with Eito being 184 cm, and Takumi being 168 cm tall.
- Kodaka Kazutaka, the main writer and creator of the game, has quote-retweeted Eitaku fanart multiple times.
- An Eitaku clear file was available to those who pre-ordered the physical Switch version from WonderGOO (Japan only).[2]
- In his direct messages on Bluesky, a fan asked Kodaka whether Eito's confession to Takumi in the 2nd Scenario was meant platonically or romantically. Kodaka answered that his words were meant both ways (loving him both as a friend and romantically).
- On May 20, 2025, Kodaka posted a drawing of Takumi on Xiaohongshu and a drawing of Eito on Weibo, in commemoration of the Chinese Internet Valentine's Day.
