EldritchTerrors is the femslash ship between Serial Designation J and Cyn from the Murder Drones fandom.
Canon[]
Cyn and J have been displayed to share an antagonistic relationship with each other due to Cyn’s extreme connection with the AbsoluteSolver. J seems to believe that Cyn is the cause of the destructive and horrific events occurring between Earth and Copper 9. In reality, Cyn is a mere puppet for the Solver and has become the new host for it. It currently is unknown if Cyn is actually deceased, which would explain how she lost her consciousness to the deadly program completely with no signs of brief moments of “awaking”. Nonetheless, the Solver still identifies itself as Cyn due to taking full possession of her body. Notably, Cyn is responsible for transforming J into a Disassembly Drone.
Heartbeat[]
After J aggressively kicks N to the floor, she stops herself from insulting him when she notices Tessa’s presence in the room. After greeting the human nervously, she notices a drone, Cyn, standing by her. She immediately reacts with annoyance, expressing her frustration to having an additional worker to the mansion. Cyn slowly unveils herself from behind Tessa, glances at N, and smiles at him before the latter awakens, realizing the scenario was memories in the form of “dreams”.
Cyn, after J’s body is obliterated by Uzi Doorman’s railgun, begins her regenerative process moments afterwards. Once the colony realizes that the area is clear of Disassembly Drones, a cleanup crew is released to tend to J’s corpse. Two male workers arrive, and one of them notices that J’s body has disappeared once his back was turned. As he is left alone since his co-worker has exited, Cyn initiates her plan and murders the innocent man, utilizing his corpse to add to J’s body. This continues for as long as Uzi’s self exile lasts.
When Thad informs Uzi and N about this mysterious yet terrifying situation, Uzi is convinced to return to the colony with this exception. During Thad, N, and Uzi’s travel, they reach the location where the Eldritch J, created by Cyn, resides. She kidnaps Thad and attempts to convince Uzi and N that the holographic form of him is his true self. To no avail, the duo launches a ninja star directly into a supposed tentacle restraining Thad and freeing him. The Eldritch J, which is assumingly Cyn and J’s conscious combined and or Cyn impersonating as J is greatly frustrated by the team’s resilience.
The Eldritch J, or Cyn, explains that it is currently rebuilding J to revive her to Uzi, thus signifying that J is not directly speaking to the purple worker drone. During the painful conversation with Uzi, the Eldritch J manages to separate N from her. After producing a holographic image of Nori Doorman, Uzi’s mother, the Eldritch J’s head appears, which is still in the process of being reconstructed. She then proceeds to decapitate and brutally murder yet another holographic model of Khan Doorman, Uzi’s father, in front of the latter much to her distress. Identifying an opening in Uzi’s form, it swiftly attempts to attack and trick her before being interrupted by N, who swiftly rescues Uzi from a fatal attack.
After exploding the Eldritch, the core of her heart that continues to carry the conscious of assumingely Cyn and J combined boasts as it tries to escape the scene. Comically, its movement is halted by N piercing it repeatedly with his nanite acid tail. It then escapes using a mysterious black hole. Towards the end of the episode, the Eldritch J appears again; she projects a holographic image of Lizzy to the true Lizzy herself, along with Doll, with the goal of luring the worker outside. Lizzy surpassingly falls for this ludicrous bait but is rescued by Doll who smashes the door to prevent her from opening it.
Lizzy is irritated by this but accepts it. The Eldritch J’s Lizzy hologram stares back at Doll in anger before disappearing.
Home[]
Cyn asks N to try to convince the Elliots to allow her to attend the gala underneath her hidden homicidal agenda. He accepts and they nervously approach the gala filled with guests in search of them. They bump into Tessa and J; Tessa’s attention jumps to N at first sight of him and she showers him in affection. She notices that he has someone with him, and when she notices that someone is Cyn, her mood immediately shifts to skepticism and confusion as she glares at the latter. This is due to Cyn originally supposed to be locked away in the basement, and Cyn points this out and explains that J forgot to release her from her basement time out “again”.
J spins the key to the basement in her hands, which proves Cyn’s statement. J makes it known that despite this, Cyn somehow managed to escape anyways. Before any more interaction can be exchanged, Luisa Elliot arrives at the scene and intimidates everyone to form a horizontal line in front of her. Cyn, who is not taking Luisa’s scolds and insults lightheartedly, speaks back to her as J and the others watch. She is spared by Luisa’s wrath for N takes the blame for her.
Nonetheless, N is not the only one being punished; Tessa is chained to the floor in the same room as Cyn and J. However, Cyn escapes her “confinement”. J rescues Tessa underneath the latter’s influence. They sneak out of the room to avoid being caught by the Elliot’s and travel on the indoor balcony. They bump into N and Uzi in her crow form before eventually being provoked by a Cyn controlled V.
Cyn commands V to attack and prevent J and the others from ceasing her plan. J engages in battle with the Eldritch V while N and Uzi locate Cyn’s basement. Meanwhile, moments after the Eldritch V shifts her attention away from them, J and Tessa enter the gala to provoke Cyn from continuing the act of tragedy. Tessa attempts to attack Cyn to no avail. Cyn consumes the consciousness of all Worker Drones in the room, including J.
She controls J to slam the door shut begin her to trap her and Tessa in the gala as she ensues her act of presumably mass genocide upon the humans. From episodes further into the series, whereas J is convinced she is teamed up with her boss, Tessa, it is truly Cyn who had fused herself with Tessa’s corpse. However, this was a trick to the audience and the characters, and J was very much aware that Cyn had become her new boss and works for her.
Absolute End[]
J is revealed to be working for Cyn out of cowardice of being on the losing team and perceiving it as much better on the dark side. V is enraged by J's betrayal, but J defends herself and claims that she has been tricked by the Solver like the others, but she came to realize that there is no escape; this could explain why she decided to join Cyn rather than fighting against her. J assists Cyn in the battle against Uzi and N, but she is eventually kicked down into a pit by N and V after she attempted to kill of Uzi when the Worker Drone was falling for Cyn's distraction. Eventually, Cyn is freed from being the host of the AbsoluteSolver and is declared as deceased. Cyn and J notably have differing personalities that make them complete opposites from the other; however, the “personality” Cyn bears undoubtedly belongs to the AbsoluteSolver, so the audience is not yet sure of how Cyn truly behaves.
Cyn is more loose and aloof to everything around her, whereas J is serious and stern. Cyn bears the demeanor similar to a child in comparison to J’s mature and professional characterization, which activates the “Sun and Moon” trope between them. The trope “Amnesiac Lovers” play as well due to Cyn removing her image from J’s memory during her transformation of becoming a Disassembly Drone.
Moments[]
- In The Promening, although Cyn doesn’t make an appearance in this episode, it reveals that she had successfully reconstructed J and had brought her full consciousness and life. J pretends that Tessa is still alive, when in reality, Cyn is fused with Tessa's corpse.
Fanon[]
EldritchTerrors is a rare pair within the Murder Drones fandom. This is due to minimal interaction between them and the antagonistic relationship Cyn has with all characters. The antagonistic relationship, however, subsided into an alliance, thus upbringing the ship although in a problematic light among fans. The dynamic of Cyn and J triggering the Sun and Moon trope attracted many shippers. Fans make fanart of Cyn asking J if the latter thinks she is cute, in which J responds with that she is the cutest being in the world.
This is a reference to a Togachako scene. However, some may view the two as siblings due to N and Cyn’s domestic relationship. Fans of the ship remind others that Cyn is not the perpetrator for foisting J into becoming a sadistic Murder Drone; this lead to fanart of Cyn regaining control of her mind and body and getting together with J. The episode in which Cyn regenerates J could be a huge factor for the ship’s upbringing as well. Problematic tension occurs in this pairing due to fans believing that Cyn is a child for various reasons.
