Elsaya is the femslash ship between Elsa and Raya from the Frozen and Raya and the Last Dragon fandoms.

Elsa and Raya coming from two separate Disney films means that they have never met in canon. Although, a few Disney crossover medias, mostly games, do have their paths cross through the choices of the player.

The two grew up looking up to their leader fathers and were devastated when they lost them. Thanks to the friendship that Elsa and Raya formed with their magical creature friends, the two were able to bring people who were divided for years together. One of their magical friends is a blue colored reptile (Bruni and Sisu). Even though Elsa wasn't trained in combat like Raya was, Elsa is capable of defending herself from those who wish her harm. Because of a scary moment from their childhoods (lost of control, betrayal and seeing a family member harmed), Elsa and Raya build walls around themselves, until someone helped them to take those walls down.

Fanon

Elsaya is one of Raya's most early crossover ships with another Disney character, that people also headcannon as a lesbian. With people shipping Raya with Sisu (as a human or dragon) and another group having Elsa take the place of Sisu's human form or have Sisu serve as Elsa's dragon form, from her having a similar energy to the dragon Raya befriends, the two ideas merged with the one to ship Elsa and Raya together. Even though the idea sometimes have Elsa take Sisu's place in Raya's story. There also been occasions when fans have Raya journey to the Enchanted Forest, where she meets Elsa the ice spirit. Although the ship is lacking fanfics, its support has come in the form of a decent number of fanart, manip, videos and Tumblr posts on the two.

Due to the mistrust Raya has with other humans, it has people thinking that Raya would trust Elsa for being revered as the fifth spirit of the forest and the bonds she has formed with the other spirits. Along with Elsa using her powers to help other humans, like the dragons of Kumandra had done. Which would help Raya to lower her guard around Elsa. Who also didn't know who to trust when she forced to hide her powers at a young age.

Raya wasn't the first woman warrior that Elsa has been paired up with. The other two being Merida and Mulan, who are also Disney characters. Warrior x Mage/Magic wielding couples and duos helps to make the idea of shipping Elsa with a warrior or simply a capable fighter not entirely new, as well as explored. Those who prefer warrior x warrior ships can take into account that Elsa is capable of defending herself through the use of her powers and there beings times when people have drawn Elsa as a type of warrior.

In resent years, however, Elsaya has been overshadowed by Elsabela. Just as Elsamaren and Rayaari overshadows it from being Elsa and Raya's main femslash ships, that aren't cross ships. As not everyone are cross shippers and those kind of ships don't normally have large fanbases. Along with there being a group that would prefer to ship Elsa and Raya as friends than lovers. From feeling that the two might already have love interests within Honeymaren and Namaari.
