Elsuno is the het ship between Elsa and Bruno Madrigal from the Frozen and Encanto fandoms.

As they are from two separate Disney films/franchises, Frozen and Encanto, Elsa and Bruno have never met.

Both grew up as outcasts in their families and communities, due to being born with a strange power that they can't explain. Elsa was born with the ability to create ice through her body and freeze anything she touches at will, while Bruno was given the ability to see into the future by the miracle at age 5. They both have sisters, though Elsa is the older sister while Bruno is the youngest brother of his triplets. Both of their relationships with their sisters were strained because of an accident involving their powers, Elsa knocked Anna unconscious with an ice crystal while trying to save her from falling, Bruno made it so that Pepa ruined her own wedding by causing a hurricane with her weather-controlling powers, simply because she overreacted to a well-meant comment Bruno had made about her sweating (comparing it to rain).

At the end of Encanto, Bruno makes a reference to Elsa's famous song, "Let it Go."

Fanon

Following the "Let it Go" reference from Bruno, fans were quick to create art with the two characters singing together. This is only exacerbated by the fact that both Elsa and Bruno have extremely popular songs associated with them, being "Let it Go" and "We Don't Talk About Bruno." The songs are one of the reasons that their respective films (and the characters themselves) are so-well recognized and loved in pop culture. Thus, much of the early fan work crossing the two films over was related to music. The crossovers eventually led to more exploration of how the characters would interact with one another if they were to meet. Since both are extremely popular characters who end their movies without a love interest, this inspired some fans to ship the characters romantically. This is not an extremely popular ship, (mainly due to the gap in canonical ages between the characters), especially not in comparison to the other known Frozen/Encanto crossover ship, Elsabela. Thus, while some like to ship them romantically, there are many fans who prefer the relationship between Elsa and Bruno to be platonic.

Whether romantic or platonic, however, it is easy to see where Elsa and Bruno have many similarities. Not only were both characters ostracized because of their respective powers, but the powers themselves are mirrors of one another; Elsa has the ability to see memories of the past by manipulating water, while Bruno has the ability to see visions of the future using sand. Some fans like to explore how the two powers would work in conjunction, since both have some basis in elemental and temporal concepts. Aside from this, however, fan works often portray one of the characters helping the other through their familiar struggle. Sometimes Bruno acts as the mentor because he is older, and other times Elsa is portrayed as the mentor because her film takes place "before." (This can be due to the canonical time periods of the movies, or simply the fact that Frozen was released first). Popular plots involve Bruno somehow ending up in Arendelle during his ten-year exile (rather than going into the walls as he does in canon), or the opposite, where Elsa (and often Anna as well) travel to the Encanto either as a political gesture or through magical means. Fan creators often need to take many creative liberties, since the two films are set in vastly different regions and time periods. Since an element of alternative reality is required for the characters to even exist at the same time, some shippers use this as a way to get past the age gap. They simply adjust the timelines and line them up in a way where the characters are of similar ages when they meet. Other shippers don't care to adjust the ages and are okay with the age gap since both characters are adults.

Currently, Elsuno has 4 fanfics in the AO3 tags and about 3 Tumblr posts, making it a rarepair.
