EmiMob is the het ship between Shigeo Kageyama and Emi from the Mob Psycho 100 fandom.
Canon[]
One of the arcs introduces Emi, Mob’s fellow student at Salt Middle School. After Mob froze up during his speech for the class president election, she seems to show an interest in Mob and asks him out. He starts walking home with her every day and she tells him about her interest in writing. Mob gets excited whenever they are together and seems to enjoy the time they spent together.
However, at the end of the week, Emi revealed that she had only confessed to him because she lost a bet she had made with her friends. Soon afterwards, Mob saw her with her friends as they teased her about her written novel before ripping it up. Mob asked the girls to stop desecrating Emi's novel, saying it was important since she put her effort and feelings into it.
A strong gust blows between the pair, with Emi’s novel floating away. Defeated, she thanks Mob for helping her regardless noticing a bright blue hue radiating off him. Mob uses his powers to recollect the entire book and forge together its pieces. Shigeo hands Emi’s book back encouraging her to continue her work as she’s an amazing writer.
It is then revealed that Mob had made a recount of this entire story to Dimple, in which the floating ghoul questioned Mob’s motives, and if Emi had indeed fallen in love with him for his psychic capabilities. Mob denies this stating that no one would ever fall in love with him over his powers. Meanwhile, Emi tries to start her new novel but is hitting major writers block, that is until she is inspired by aforementioned events and begins drafting her new narrative about a middle schooler with esper abilities.
From this experience she came to greatly respect Mob, and even used him as a writing inspiration for her next project.
Emi also makes another small appearance in the Divine Tree Arc. Emi approaches Mob after seeing him talk to Tsubomi, Tome, and Mezato in the same day to tease him about how many girls he's been talking to lately. Her playful remarks make Mob get carried away in fantasies of being popular and having random girls on the street eye him up.
Fanon[]
EmiMob gained some popularity after the chapter 51 of the manga and the episode 13 of the season 2 of the anime. Despite not being as popular as other ships in the Mob Psycho 100 fandom, the ship is highly appreciated in the community, especially since Emi was important to showcase Mob's growth and maturity, and that he started to care more for his feelings.
Some fans of this ship think that Emi should have ended up with Mob in the series finale, or that the creator should have developed more of their relationship. Some fans also prefer this pairing over another Mob's canon love interest, Tsubomi Takane.
