Emirube is the het ship between Emi and Daikichi Karube from the Alice in Borderland fandom.

Canon

Season 1

Episode 1

Karube and Emi are first introduced when the scene switches to a bar. Emi and Karube can be seen kissing, however they stop as soon as Emi’s boyfriend, who is also their boss, walks in. The two immediately act like nothing happened. Their boss comments that Karube is early. Karube says that he just happened to come in early. Right after Emi asks him why he is here at this time of day. Kazu says he has business to attend to and goes on to punch Karube. Kazu continues beating Karube up whilst asking how he dares to put his hands on his woman. Emi tries to stop Kazu from beating Karube, however he pushes her away. A moment later Karube punches the guy back and knocks him out. After Karube knocked Kazu out the two stand there looking at each other before Karube leaves the bar to meet up with Arisu and Chota.

Some time after Karube had entered the Borderlands along with Arisu and Chota, they all split up to see if they could find anyone. Karube goes to the bar to see if Emi is there. When entering the bar Karube sees no one. After looking at something Karube softly says Emi's name and looks for her in the bar while calling out to her.

Episode 3

After returning from the game along with Arisu, they talk with Chota and Shibuki about what he heard and the group makes a plan to first join a game and then to search for the Beach the next day. Karube then goes on to leave and is later shown looking for something in the bar where he used to work. Eventually he finds the thing he is looking for which is a box with a ring in it. After he looks at the ring he thinks of Emi and hopes that she stays safe, he goes on to take the box with him.

At some point during the Seven of Hearts game, Karube goes after Arisu but eventually falls to the ground. This causes the ring to fall to the ground. Karube notices this and goes on to pick the ring up and thinks about a conversation he had with Emi. During this conversation Emi asks if it is about Arisu and Chota again and goes on to mention that Karube is a kind person. After this Karube thinks about things including his time with Arisu and Chota and their friendship and gives up his pursuit of Arisu and goes on to hide from him.

Fanon

Emirube is more known by fans of the live action. This is because Emi does not exist in the manga. Despite that Emirube is also liked by fans of the manga.

Despite the fact that not much was shown of their relationship it did gain fans. This is due to the fact that from what is shown the two seem to have a good relationship. Another reason is that Karube was likely going to propose to Emi at some point. This has led fans to create stories of the two inwhich Karube is able to propose to her.
