- I knew it! I was right...! I was right, grandpa! That zingy-zing feeling I got when I saw him during those interviews sent me in the right direction!
- —Emu in Wonder Magical Showtime! Episode 4 "The Star's Big Speech!"
Emukasa is the het ship between Emu Ootori and Tsukasa Tenma from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
Main Story[]
In the main story of WonderlandsxShowtime, Emu first sees Tsukasa while spying on him and listening to his audition. When Tsukasa gets sent to the Wonder Stage, Emu jumps from the stage's roof and lands on Tsukasa, appearing out of nowhere shouting "Wonderhoy!" and insisting he says it too. He asks her where she came from, and she answers saying she wanted to surprise him, and introduces herself. She asks Tsukasa to create wonderful shows together with her, though Tsukasa is still confused. They talk a little more, with Emu complimenting Tsukasa, and says that with him, she's sure they can gather a full audience. Tsukasa begins talking about his dream to become a star, but she ignores him. Emu then reveals that while she was listening to his audition, her head was saying that with Tsukasa, they can make a great stage. Tsukasa then makes an autograph for Emu, who compliments his handwriting and thanks him. He then proceeds to walk away, but Emu dashes up to him and stops him, grabbing him by his collar, shaking him and begging to do a show with him, believing it'll be fun for the both of them. She continuously begs for him to do a show with her for a while, yet he still doesn't accept.
Later on, the two end up transporting themselves into the Wonderland SEKAI. Emu calls Tsukasa a star, saying stars like him can make a place like that, which she believes is amazing. While Tsukasa ignores her. KAITO then begins explaining everything to Tsukasa. Emu says that a show with all of them, including Tsukasa, sounds fun. Suddenly, a stuffed bunny plush flies up to them, scaring Tsukasa who hits his head and passes out, and Emu yells his name in shock.
When Tsukasa wakes up, Emu is already there and asks him if he's okay, while he still assumes that was a dream. Tsukasa says he'd do anything to leave, and Emu once again asks him if he'll do a show with her at Wonder Stage. This time, he accepts the offer. Emu says it's a promise, and begins thinking about where to find his smartphone. She easily finds it, and hands it over. He then teleports back to the Wonder Stage, and Emu asks Tsukasa to create a show together with her, once again. Later one of Emu's bodyguards goes up to Tsukasa thinking he's kidnapping Emu, and grabs him aggressively. Emu tells the two to stop fighting and calls Tsukasa an important friend of hers. When Tsukasa finally actually accepts her offer, Emu thanks him and says she's happy. The two then go to find more members.
Eventually, the two go through trials and bring Rui Kamishiro and Robo-Nene (Nene Kusanagi) to join their troupe. Emu is overjoyed, and the four plan their first show as a newfound theater troupe. However, things run downhill as Nene, forgetting to charge Robo-Nene, inadvertently ruins the show. After the audience is dismissed, Tsukasa begins to lash out of Nene while Emu watches glumly. After Rui defends Nene and chides Tsukasa for his arrogance, the two end up leaving the stage.

Emu talking with Tsukasa in the ferris wheel
Further in the story in Episode 15 of the main story, Emu believes herself to have been selfish, realizing that insisting to do a show with Tsukasa caused everyone's frowns. Tsukasa, realizing his fault later on, runs to Emu and attempts to apologize, but she quickly interrupts him and solemnly invites him to Phoenix Wonderland's ferris wheel. Tsukasa is confused, and he tells himself he should apologize to Emu for shouting yesterday. The two remain silently in the ferris wheel until Emu breaks the silence. She begins to talk about her family, and how her grandfather passed away, leading to Tsukasa's condolences. She explains she wishes to make everyone smile and follow her grandfather's wishes. Tsukasa is touched by her story, but he’s quickly flabbergasted when Emu tells him she’s giving up on the Wonder Stage. He asks her why, and she explains the stage will be demolished soon, because she believes it is selfish of her to keep her dreams alive while it resulted in everyone's unhappiness. However, Tsukasa shows his anger, calling her a dummy and saying that right now she's unhappy, something her grandfather wouldn't want. He fervently promises and reassures her they'll do another show, telling her that her thoughts matter and that she should be smiling as well. He apologizes for his actions and tells her that he wishes to perform shows together.
In episode 20, Emu says Tsukasa's awesome ideas make everyone happy and calls him the brightest star in the whole galaxy, and Tsukasa jokingly demands her to praise him as the star he is. The two of them start laughing together.
Smile of a Dreamer[]
Emu's family members are introduced, and it is revealed that they want to renovate Phoenix Wonderland entirely differently in order to cater to a different audience. Emu keeps wondering if she should communicate her problems with her friends or keep everything to herself, troubled by her anxieties. Later in the story, Tsukasa recalls the moment that he shared with Emu on the ferris wheel that day, resulting in his inspiration for his plan to help her by bringing her back to the same place where she once opened up to him. Tsukasa invites Emu and the other troupe members. He tells her that anything is possible and she should not be afraid to tell others what she is worried about, which makes Emu realize she's not alone anymore. She then starts bawling and thanking her troupemates.
In Tsukasa's "Balloon Presenter" first side story, he worries about Emu's situation after their encounter with her brothers, wanting to find a way to help her. While talking about it with his sister, she mentions how it's rare for her to see him this angry. In the second side story, Tsukasa notices Emu standing alone, with a troubled look on her face. He approaches her, letting Emu know that she can tell him anything that's bothering her. Emu happily takes his offer, and shows the caterpillar she was pondering about. Tsukasa starts to freak out, but attempts to compose himself in order to stay away from the caterpillar. However, his politeness was seen as strange, and causes Emu to come closer anyways.
Later on, despite being exhausted by Emu's antics, he expresses relief after seeing her improved mood. While resting, Emu's bodyguard appears. Tsukasa, assuming that the mascot was upset, starts to brace himself, but was actually met with gratitude. Kigurumi thanks Tsukasa for allowing Emu to open up more about her feelings instead of keeping her problems to herself as she often did. Tsukasa responds by proudly stating that he naturally put in his best effort to ensure that she would smile, promising Kigurumi that he would continue to do so in the future as well. When Emu asks Tsukasa about his conversation with the mascot, he summarizes Kigurumi's words by saying, "He essentially told us to look out for our stubborn, little princess here."
Doll Festival at The Tenma's[]
Emu tells KAITO she came to play, however, Tsukasa tries to stop her, telling her they're there to practice as she runs off. While they talk about the doll festival on March 3rd, Tsukasa says he won't be able to make it, which saddens Emu. She says that they can instead have it on another day if he's not coming, however, Tsukasa tells her not to worry and try to have fun with the others.
Wonder Magical Showtime![]
After Tsukasa begins their strategy meeting, Emu says "sir, yes sir!", which Rin also repeats after. After Emu calls Rui's ideas such a Wonderhoy Show, Tsukasa agrees, calling it a fantastic idea.
Later on, Emu remembers the exciting feeling she felt when she watched his audition. While discussing the ideas, Emu notices Tsukasa looks a little down, and is concerned for him. She realizes he still wants to win the contest. Tsukasa, however, tells her it's alright.
Admist a Dream, Towards the Shining Stars[]
Emu, Rui and Nene watch Tsukasa's performance as Peter Pan. It's a story Emu has always wanted to make a show about. In fact, she's amazed by his performance: she says he looks sparkly and dazzling and she feels like she can't take her eyes off of him. Emu says she's sure Tsukasa will be able to become a star one day, and if they'll ever separate she'll continue to support him.
The next day, Emu tells Tsukasa his performance felt "super-duper-fun and exciting and sparkly and ultra wonderhoy!" Suddenly, Tsukasa gets a flashback of Emu's older brother Keisuke telling him he'll have to make a big decision one day, and gets upset. Emu asks him what's wrong and he reassures her saying it's nothing.
Towards The Phoenix at The Sky's Edge[]
In chapter 6, Tsukasa almost faints due to him starving himself. Emu notices that he looks wobbly and immediately catches him before he could fall. Emu then asks him if he is alright. Tsukasa apologizes and tells her that his dizziness may have been because of him not eating.
In chapter 8, while waiting for Tsukasa's turn to perform, Emu claims she can't help but feel a "squeeze" in her stomach. Rui finds it odd, as she never gets nervous before a performance.
Our Happy Ending[]
During the event, Rui hears Emu crying. Tsukasa reassures the rest of the group and Emu that he will allow for them to cry. As the moment between the group grows more sentimental, the rest of the unit break into tears alongside each other. Tsukasa tells Emu that he's truly grateful of her for inviting her earlier on, and that without her help - he'd have never met his best friends today, and would never have pursued his dreams. Hearing this, Emu bursts into tears.
In the midst of all the crying, Tsukasa and Emu are seen lightheartedly making fun of each others' "scrunched up" faces as they cry together.

Fanon[]
Emukasa has a decent following in the Project SEKAI fandom and is commonly seen as one of the more popular het ships, though it still has more traction in the Eastern fandom. Emukasa sailed mainly due to Emu always trying to help Tsukasa, especially after Chapter 15 of WonderlandsxShowtime's Main Story where they had a bonding moment at the Ferris wheel, and further gained fans after later events showing Tsukasa's dedication to making Emu's ideals a reality, and Emu constantly supporting Tsukasa whilst cheering him on. Many people also like the ship due to their "birds of a feather"-like dynamic, considering they make up the more loud and energetic half of their group and are shown having a few traits in common (such as their hearty laughs). It is rivaled by RuiKasa, Emunene, Ruiemu, and sometimes Nenekasa as well.
The ship has 400+ romantic works and 220+ gen works on AO3.
