Emuramu is the friendship between Emu Ootori and Ramuda Amemura from the Project SEKAI and Hypnosis Mic fandoms.
Canon[]
Ramuda is from Hypnosis Mic, a Japanese multimedia project with a rhythm game. He is a fashion designer and leader of Fling Posse with an obscure and unsavory background. Emu is from Project SEKAI, a similarly Japanese rhythm game. She is a second-year student at her school and a member of the theater troupe Wonderlands x Showtime.
While both worlds are vastly different, with Hypmic set in a post-WWIII universe while Project SEKAI is semi-realistic, Ramuda and Emu share many similarities. For one, both Ramuda and Emu fall into the superficial and high-pitched innocent trope despite having a deeper story to them.

Emu and Ramuda with the same default pose and expression
Both of them share similar poses and expressions in official art. Additionally, they are portrayed to have star or heart emojis at the end of their daily sentences. They both use over-the-top, dramatic examples and way of describing things, both using various onomatopoeia such as kira-kira and doki-doki. Both of them have short pink hair and an exaggerated cutesy way of speaking. They both have a habit of jumping on people excitedly or hugging them or being slow to notice others’ irritation, with many characters viewing them as annoying. Both of them are mistaken for being younger than they are or generally dubbed childish and immature, as well as being very short, though Ramuda is 3 cm taller. Both of them are known to be extremely friendly and carefree regardless of the individual or situation, both seeking fun and joy and both optimists. Both Emu and Ramuda are acquainted with almost the entire cast of their respective games. Both of their voices could be described as forced or grating. They both like sweets, and Ramuda dislikes ghosts while Emu dislikes dusk.
With that said, both Ramuda and Emu have the habit of keeping up a facade and front, though Ramuda’s is more intense as his personality is artificially suppressed. However, both Ramuda and Emu, to different degrees, feel a pressure to conform to society’s expectations of them. Ramuda feels the pressure to keep up his flirtatious and cutesy ruse to satisfy fans, while Emu felt the need to hide all negative emotions in order to avoid becoming a burden. Along with that, Emu was ridiculed and mocked by her older brothers who tried to shut down her dreams, while Ramuda is treated as a tool and lapdog by Chuohku who shut him down at any sign of free will. Despite their fronts, Ramuda and Emu carry many burdens and grievances they try to alleviate or hide around those they care about.
Ramuda and Emu’s character arcs, “The Loneliness, Hopes, and Tears of a Puppet” and Emu’s early focus events respectively, are rather similar as well. Both of them learn to express themselves freely and rely on their teammates, and both of them end up crying at the end with a change in heart. Additionally, both Emu and Ramuda share a similar dynamic with their friends; Rui often enjoys and goes along with Emu's antics despite seeming more mature. On the other hand, Tsukasa is often confused and startled by Emu's energetic behavior. The same goes for Gentaro and Dice respectively towards Ramuda.
Both Ramuda and Emu were inspired by an important person in their life who is presently absent. Emu was inspired by her deceased grandfather to make everyone smile, and Ramuda was inspired by his overseas former partner Hanabi who inspired him to make the world a fun place.
However, Ramuda and Emu have quite a few differences. Ramuda is ruthless and unforgiving while his personality is a fake adapted from Hanabi, which is contrast to Emu who is naturally, at heart, kind-hearted and fun. They have a lot of design differences, although their family situation is fairly comparable. Fling Posse and WXS are fairly different as well, since Ramuda's group is held together by a sense of nihilism while Emu's aims to make people smile and have fun. Unlike Emu who means good intent, Ramuda is more taunting and provocative and doesn't hesitate in talking trash about others if desired. Both Emu and Ramuda sing in an exaggerated and high-pitched manner, but they have different singing styles despite having similar patterned songs, as Ramuda is a rapper while Emu leans more on the vocalist side.
Fanon[]
Ramuda and Emu are believed to make good friends in a modern AU by fans. Emuramu is appreciated as a friendship and not popular as a het ship, since Ramuda is 24 and Emu is 17. Even if some people headcanon Ramuda as younger, Emu and Ramuda are seen more as siblings. There are many posts about Ramuda Wonderhoy-ing with Emu, or fans making jokes that a room would explode with the duo around, so they are often the subject of conversation. Some fans believe Emu would sense Ramuda’s fakeness and help him find his true self, similarly to a Mafuemu scenario. Fans also believe they can relate to each other to a large extent.
Generally, many Project SEKAI and Hypnosis Mic fans make comparisons between Ramuda and Emu, as some fans have pointed out that Ruiemu is scarily similar to RamuGen with similar characteristics.
