Esmerelly is the femslash ship between Esmeralda and Cinderella from the The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Cinderella fandoms.
Canon[]
Cinderella and Esmeralda never met in canon, since both of them are from different Disney movies. However, both Cinderella and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are set in France. As such, it is easy to imagine that Cinderella and Esmeralda's paths may have crossed if their movies exist within a shared universe. Cinderella makes an appearance with the rest of the Disney Princesses in the film Ralph Breaks the Internet. Although Esmeralda is not present, it is possible that she may exist in the Oh My Disney section of the internet off-screen.
Esmeralda and Cinderella both grew up poor. While Cinderella lives in a large manor and her family had money to her name, she was treated like a servant by her step-family and forced to wear rags. Esmeralda grew up in the Court of Miracles and the streets, dancing for coins to help keep herself fed. Both of them end up in higher standing by the ends of their respective movies; Cinderella by marrying the Prince, and Esmeralda by ending up with the Captain of the Guard. They are both shown to be incredibly kind-hearted individuals. In Cinderella's sequel films she is also prone to showing spunk, much like Esmeralda.
Fanon[]
Esmerelly is not such a popular ship within each of the characters' respective fandoms. This is mainly due to the fact that the ship is often overshadowed by the characters' most popular ships. Crossover ships in general are usually less popular than canon ships are. However, this is one of Esmeralda's most popular crossover ships. Testament to this are the fan-made videos of the ship reaching as much as over a million views. Such videos include the one titled "❝Hunted❞ Esmeralda x Cinderella," with over four million views. The video starts with Belle secretly following Cinderella to her meeting with Esmeralda, who we later find out is her lover. In this alternative universe, Esmeralda is a vampire. She waits until midnight to bite Cinderella, who willingly accepts, also becoming a vampire. Belle see this, and seems horrified. So she "records" the scene in her magic mirror. She later reports her to Gaston and he riles up the whole town to follow him on his hunt of Cinderella and Esmeralda. Ignorant of the whole mob that wants to hunt them down, Esmeralda and Cinderella are dancing together when they suddenly hear the people trying to enter their castle. They try to escape, but they're too late as Gaston's minions forcibly grab the two and separate them as they struggle to stay together.

After capturing them, Gaston imprisons Cinderella and sadistically tells her how Esmeralda will be burn at the stake for "witchcraft." Their story ends tragically, but this theme of religious hatred separating the two it's a common them in some fan-made content of the ship. In some other fan made edits, Cinderella is able to save Esmeralda, as she puts her life in risk to protect her.
However, not all depictions of the ship are this tragic, as some others incorporate fantasy elements, like mermaids, where one of them is the mermaid who gets to the other's human world, as a sort of Little Mermaid AU. Some other AUs of the two portray them in a modern setting, going on dates, proposing to one another and even getting married. And some others explore Esmeralda in Cinderella's universe, usually as another princess.
