FN is the friendship between F and N from the Alphabet Lore fandom.
Canon[]
Alphabet Lore[]
- N
- N witnesses the rest of his team attack F after he took I. He promptly transforms himself into Ñ, with the intent of stopping F as well. However, N couldn’t help I due to F being taller than him. F then proceeds to blow Ñ’s tilde-hair, causing him to flee. N silently places himself next to his team in shame.
- P
- During the time it took for O and P to transform, F had already fled.
- Q
- As Q approaches, N notices that F has stolen his semi-colon gem. Back at his lair, F puts I in a chain and looks at N’s gem with an evil grin.
- R
- As F also takes R, N is being rejected by L and O, but P stays loyal to him and tries to help him find F by fusing with M and A to become a map.
- T
- N and his friends find F having already taken S, currently in the process of beating up T. However, F ambushes them by freezing G in place with L’s period gem.
- U
- N is very clearly terrified of F after G is frozen. As M and P fail to defeat F, the latter is approach N, who is hiding behind G. N then bears witness to F killing C after the latter attacked F to save N. After F kidnaps P, N mourns C alongside the others. G and N then recruit U, clarifying that they’re done playing.
- V
- Upon seeing what they think is F attacking V, G uses U and N as a gun to put the villain to rest. However, it turns out to be P, disguised as F after having a large chunk bitten out of her. As G mourns P, N hugs M, possibly feeling guilty about his contribution to her death as well. F then looks at his enemies, chewing on P’s chunk like bubble gum and giving an evil grin before fleeing the scene.
- W
- N has a nightmare about the other letters calling him a COWARD, he then sees C and P in their last moments, with what he thinks is G preventing him from reaching them and possibly stopping F from hurting them further. Frustrating, he gives “G” a slap, only for “G” to look at him with F’s face and bite him, forcing him to wake up.
- X
- G and N are stopped from reaching F by X, who plans to take him on himself. He loses and is left bruised by the entrance of F’s lair.
- Y
- N and his allies enter the lair, with N noting that F used X’s asterisk gem to duplicate himself by coating the walls with his slime. N takes the gems F has left along the path for him to find. As F has taken all of the letters besides N prisoner, N quickly realizes that he’s forced to take on F all by himself. F capitulates by leaving the punctuation gems he still has on the floor, regarding N with little animosity. But N can only see F as a monster who killed at least 2 innocent letters, he refuses to be a coward anymore and takes his own semi-colon gem from F by force. He lasers through F with the combined punctuation powers, killing him almost instantly. As N’s allies are free, N regards X’s asterisk gem, only to look at the wall F’s victims are chained up on. He realizes that D, E, I, R and S, alongside F’s corpse and N himself spell a word: FRIENDS. As the group regards this revelation in confusion, Q arrives holding a previously unknown black question mark gem, giving it to N.
- Z
- As it turns out, F and N used to be friends as they were still lowercase, happily dancing alongside r, i, e, d and s. However, n was a target of bullying by l and o, with f being the only one willing to stick up for him. He then takes t, r and a to prank l by spelling “fart” and pretending that l passed gas. He makes the entire alphabet laugh at l, with l planning revenge on f and n by beating up f, forcing him to cry the period and colon punctuation gems out. They then shove f towards r, i, c and k, framing him. The entire alphabet then attacks f, who cries more punctuations. f then trips over n, with n refusing to help him up, causing f to cry the question mark gem and the semi-colon gem. As f made his way towards the mountain that would become his lair, n looks at f in shame, with f growing up to become spiteful and murderous towards the other letters.
- Now I Know My ABCs
- As N's flashback ends, all of the present letters look over to F with sad, sympathetic looks on their faces. Their world god Z is then so moved by F and N's story that they use their ellipsis gems to rewind time. In a haste, Q shoves F's question mark gem into N's mouth, allowing for N to remember everything while mentally travelling back in time. Back as n, he once again stands in f's way when he is shoved around by the other letters, but he knows better this time. Instead of letting himself get pushed into a corner by the bullies l and o, n takes a stand to defend f. They're so happy to have each other that they don't even care about l and o beating them up again, with them crying their semi-colon and question mark gems out of joy. The gems form an ampersand before they are stored in the bodies of the other. f waits while n greets his friend p, that she gets to live in this timeline. After reaching the summit what would've been F's lair, the two friends embrace and smile into the horizon.
Number Lore[]
F and N have a very brief cameo at the beginning of the first episode, establishing that the sequel takes place in the "good" timeline.
They finally become part of the plot again in the third episode, when all of the other letters are chasing after 1 having kidnapped X, F and N are just having a good time, using their shared ampersand gem as a disco ball. However, when N notices the ruckus outside, with L and O being turned into Swiss cheese by 2, N tries to show F in hopes of getting his help. However, F looks at his former bullies getting tormented with sadistic glee, causing N to have flashbacks to the timeline where he went on a rampage. F is content with just leaving them to die, but N takes his gem, with F being distraught at losing him to them and forcefully holding onto the gem. N however literally breaks things off with F and fuses with A and V to make a van, solemnly looking at F through the rearview mirror with sad, almost regretful eyes. Due to F being down about N leaving him, he's still in the cave when L deliberately lets 1's flying calculator crash into it, causing N to fear the worst.

FN is the most popular ship in the Alphabet Lore fandom, with some even considering it the only ship. Though a good chunk of people ship them romantically, most seem to prefer them platonically.
