FalSam is the het ship between Captain Falcon and Samus Aran from the Super Smash Bros. fandom.
Canon[]
Samus and Captain Falcon have been in the series since the very beginning. Both wear somewhat similar red helmets.
Both are also bounty hunters in their retrospective games. They also both fly spaceships.
Super Smash Bros.[]
Captain Falcon shares a number of similarities to Samus in his moveset: Their dash attacks and down smashes are virtually identical, their up tilt is almost identical. Their blue costumes are also only usable when playing on the blue team in VS Mode, curiously, they're the only characters with that function.
Super Smash Bros. Melee[]
When fighting as an opponent in team battles in Classic Mode, Samus' partner is either Captain Falcon or Fox, Captain Falcon additionally has the chance to be fighting with Falco. Should she fight alongside Captain Falcon, she will do so on Big Blue.
In Event 17: "Bounty Hunters", Samus and Captain Falcon are allied (with Friendly Fire turned off). The player controls Samus and has to defeat Bowser before he either self-destructs or Captain Falcon defeats him instead.
In Event 20: "All-Star Match 2", Samus and Captain Falcon are two of the opponents the player has to defeat.
In Event 36: "Space Travelers", the player controlling Ness has to defeat Samus and Captain Falcon once again, though on different stages this time.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
Solo Event 23: "Molten Norfair" has a player-controlled Samus fighting on Norfair, escaping the lava in a safety capsule while fending off Captain Falcon and Fox.
Solo Event 36: "High-Tech Special Forces" has a player-controlled Snake fighting a team consisting of Samus, Captain Falcon and Wolf.
The sixth co-op event match is named "Unwanted Suitors". In it, Zero Suit Samus and Zelda fight off an invisible Captain Falcon and Luigi, with the joke being that the two men are infatuated with the women.
The twelfth co-op event match is named "Come Back! Falcon Flyer", the player controls Captain Falcon and Olimar and must defeat Samus and a clone of herself before the timer runs out.
Subspace Emissary[]
Captain Falcon and Samus cross paths when both happen to infiltrate the Subspace Bomb Factory at the same time. Both of them witness the Ancient Minister's betrayal of Ganondorf and being revealed to have been R.O.B. the whole time. They recruit the R.O.B. who just unmasked himself and rush to escape the factory as the other, still mind-controlled R.O.B.s activate the Subspace Bombs. However, just as the group makes their escape in the Captain's Falcon Flyer, Meta-Ridley chases after them, still furious over his defeat at the hands of Samus and Pikachu. Captain Falcon then assists Samus in Meta-Ridley's defeat. Just like the rest of the Fighters, Samus and Captain Falcon are both turned into trophies, are saved by the Subspace Trio and Kirby and then set out to defeat Tabuu together.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS[]
The solo event "Bounty Hunter Clash" has Captain Falcon fight against two Zero Suit Samuses.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Captain Falcon fights alongside Zero Suit Samus in the Spirit Battle for Jody Summer (Samus is Summer). DLC would add the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts" Spirit Battle, where Samus and Captain Falcon represent characters from Persona 5.
Fanon[]
FalSam is often credited as being one of the earliest ships in the fandom, largely due to Falcon and Samus being the closest characters to adult humans in the 64 game. It is mainly rivaled by Snakus, which was the big ship for Brawl. To this day, it's Captain Falcon's most popular ship, both for his home series and for Smash. The pairing also has a large following among fans of the webcomic Brawl in the Family, where the two are shown to be dating. While in web video Nintendo High, he clearly loves Samus, but she doesn't felt comfortable to him. Even in prom date, she accepts dance with Captain Falcon with angry and blushing with him.
