Fanbulb is the het ship between Fan and Lightbulb from the Inanimate Insanity fandom.

Inanimate Insanity II[]
During the icebreaker challenge, Fan finds Lightbulb holding her breath and asks if she's okay. Lightbulb reveals to him she's following what she considers the rules of object shows: not being mean to anyone and not interacting with anything will make her safe. However, she quickly realizes Fan made her break those rules, causing Lightbulb to panic and slap Fan off the glacier. Fan later ends up as one of the members of Lightbulb's new team for the season.
As Lightbulb chooses which of her team members will participate in the triathlon, she chooses Fan and refers to him as Paper. Fan calls her out for being dimwitted, although Paintbrush defends her and points out that Fan is indeed made out of paper. Lightbulb celebrates being in the right as a result.
In the pizza baking challenge, Lightbulb explains her idea of making a cookie pizza and gets the idea to use Fan's egg as protein. Fan takes the egg back and scolds Lightbulb for not considering that there's something living inside of it.
Near the end of the soccer challenge, Fan doubts that the team will be able to score four shots against The Grand Slams. Lightbulb calms him down and helps motivate him and the rest of the team on the field despite their efforts failing in the end.
After Paintbrush goes with Marshmallow in the maze together, Lightbulb instead turns to Fan and offers to go through it with him as "flying buddies". Fan is confused at what this means at first but decides to accept the offer. He turns to Test Tube and hands her his egg, doubtful that he'll be able to keep it safe while with Lightbulb. As Test Tube assures that the egg will be safe in her hands, Lightbulb grabs Fan and takes him into the maze. When Lightbulb runs into a dead end, she sets Fan down and tells him that the wall is aggravating her. When Fan responds that they can't do anything about it, Lightbulb gets the idea to fly over it as she propels Fan up into the air. After floating across to the other side of the maze, she lets go of Fan, causing the two to fall to the finish. Lightbulb briefly celebrates until MePhone calls them out and sends them back to the start of the maze. Later on when the two overhear Marshmallow and Paintbrush's conversation, Lightbulb repeatedly plays a note on the piano and Fan jokes about their conversation being one-note. Lightbulb chuckles and applauds him as the two high-five, shortly before they continue to joke about Marshmallow constantly talking about Apple. Later on after the two have passed by them, Lightbulb starts to panic and Fan expresses concern about them being very lost. As he wishes for them to actually get out of the maze at some point, Lightbulb thinks that Fan is "in on it" and tries to surprise him with a weird face to no avail. Fan shares to her that he gets the feeling that their team isn't in the spotlight for the challenge and figures they should just go with the flow. As Lightbulb compares it to being in the bottom of the ocean, Fan hopes that Test Tube is doing better than them. Lightbulb later finds the exit to the maze and drags a passed-out Fan with her. When Fan wakes up, he is shocked on how they managed to make it across. Lightbulb tries to cheer him up but this further stuns him when he ends up seeing Lightbulb with three heads.
After sparking a ball with electricity, Lightbulb passes it to Fan for him to catch. After being warned by her about electrocution, Fan ends up being electrocuted by the ball, upsetting Paintbrush. Fan is shocked about being spontaneously electrocuted and starts feeling overwhelmed with all of the variables.
After Test Tube and Fan's eliminations make Lightbulb the only Bright Light remaining, she huddles beside the two one last time before they walk into the elimination portal. She at first plays it optimistically but once the two walk in the portal, Lightbulb is upset having to lose them.
Fanon[]
Fanbulb is a fairly popular ship for the two characters. Their dynamic in the show was mainly demonstrated when being paired together for the maze challenge, giving fans an idea of how they would pull through struggles together as friends. Later on with how closely Lightbulb values not just Fan but her teammates in general, the duo began to have more of an emotional bond alongside their other allies. The ship is also commonly shipped together with Paintbrush and Test Tube, not only combining their respective most popular ships Fantube and Lightbrush, but also gathering all four of them in an affectionate manner. Ship art of the two is fairly common for them alongside video edits of them on TikTok. When not paired together, the ship is rivaled usually by the two aforementioned pairings.
On AO3, as of December 8, 2024, the ship has 33 works under its platonic tag and 19 under the romantic tag. It is the 4th most written ship for both Lightbulb and Fan on the site, behind their ships with Paintbrush and Test Tube including the ship with all four of them.
