Fanclock is the het ship between Fanny and Clock from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
While Clock is calling out Bracelety for supporting Ice Cube's abuse towards Teardrop, Fanny jumps to the scene and says that she hates him. Clock, originally thinking she was referring to Bracelety, agrees but becomes shocked when Fanny clarifies she hates Clock. When asked why, Fanny responds that self-improvement only occurs when one is aware that they are imperfect and, therefore, makes him worthy of hate. The two continue to get involved regarding Liy and Ice Cube's attempts to get Teardrop to talk.
In the swingset challenge, Clock's team oversees Fanny's fulcrum being used to rotate her team's swing incredibly quickly. When Cake wonders if Clock can do the same, he is willing to try it out, although this only causes his team's swing to rotate slightly each second. This ends up working out anyways when daylight savings causes his adjusting clock hands to rotate the swing much faster.
Despite their lack of other direct interactions, the two share similarities with their characteristics and through their time in the competition. The two both have a blue and white color scheme as their primary colors, which only Pen shares this distinction. Both were formerly voiced by Michael Huang before Satomi Hinatsu took over the role for both Fanny and Clock after the first season. Regarding their appearance, both rely on electricity as Clock is a wall clock and Fanny is an electric fan. Fanny's spinning blade and Clock's clock hands make the two share the quality of having something spinning behind their faces. Both also lack a pair of arms as well, not counting Clock's clock hands. In terms of personality, both have been shown to be demanding and assertive to their surroundings while also maintaining an honest character. The two have also been shown to stand up to those who they feel are being mistreated, such as Fanny defending Bubble from her teammates and Clock wanting to help Winner avoid being forgotten by society.
While the contestants are split between staying with Four or joining Two's new season, Clock is convinced to leave Four after Fanny is upset that Four switched out the season prize. Both are part of the same group of ten contestants that join Two and at the start of the season's first episode, Clock agrees with Fanny when she is hesitant on switching back despite Four beinging the original prize back. The two ended up on different teams in the season, although their teams were the first to lose three members each. Both teams ended up losing the sixth challenge and Fanny and Clock were in the bottom two of their respective teams. While Fanny survived elimination, Clock did not.
Fanon[]
The ship mainly resonated during the run of BFB, the show's fourth season. Many fans were quick to tie in their similarities in character and saw a connection between the two, often in a romantical sense. This led to ship art and one-shot written works being based off of the pairing. Outside of shipping, some fans rather see them as related because of their similarities in physical appearance and their argument surrounding Bracelety resembling sibling rivalry. Nonetheless, the ship has been fairly known for the two characters while still remaining a rarepair overall. Ships such as Fubble and Winnerclock are often preferred for fans who see the two as a lesbian and a gay man.
On AO3, there is one work under their relationship tag.
