Fantasista Squad is the poly ship between Tsukasa Tenma, Rui Kamishiro, Akito Shinonome and Touya Aoyagi from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
All of them attend Kamiyama High School, and at the time of the unit's formation, Tsukasa and Rui are second-year students, and Akito and Touya are a year younger. Fantasista Squad was one of the units present in the 2022 April Fool's AU.
April Fool's 2022[]
In the April Fool's AU, Tsukasa and Rui invite Akito and Touya of BAD DOGS to join their backstreet performance unit, and their "lore" is shown through their area conversations.
In the first one, taking place at Kamiyama High School, Tsukasa initially names their team "Pegasus DOGS" and proceeds to announce himself as the leader, while appointing himself the "Pegasus Tenma" stagename as well. Akito retorts, saying Tsukasa just repeated his surname twice (as "Tenma" means "pegasus" in Japanese) while Rui jumps on the plan and asks if his stagename would be "God Generation Kamishiro". Touya then deduces that going by that, his own stagename would be "Blue Willow Aoyagi". Akito tells him to not imitate Rui and Tsukasa and then asks if they really should team up. Tsukasa and Rui proceed to name Akito "Daybreak Shinonome", and when Tsukasa asks if he likes it, Akito mentions how he and Touya still haven't agreed to perform with them. Touya suggests they could be able to learn various new things, and while Akito agrees, he also says they shouldn't have chosen Rui and Tsukasa out of all people as their mentors. After Tsukasa convinces Akito that he'll make sure Rui won't go overboard, Akito agrees to their partnership, but refuses to accept Pegasus DOGS as their unit name. The four of them decide to brainstorm on a proper unit name.
In the second one, where the boys are now at the Main Street, Tsukasa announces they are now going to rehearse FANTASISTA SQUAD's first performance. They proceed to talk about the unit's new name's meaning happily. Tsukasa proudly proclaims they will at some point "jump out into the back alleys of the world," and Akito questions his words again.
In the third one, they are back at Kamiyama High School and shown to be rehearsing.
The four of them also covered Ifuudoudou together with KAITO.
Fanon[]
As a poly ship, Fantasista Squad is still a bit of a rarepair in the Western fandom, while it is more recognized in the Eastern fandom. Although all of the four guys were shipped before, mostly due to their chemistry and status as the only human male characters in the game, their ship did not have an "official" nor proper name in the Western fandom before the April Fool's 2022 universe, where they were part of the same unit. It currently has 55+ fanfictions in total on AO3.
The ships within the Fantasista Squad are quite popular. The most popular are RuiKasa and AkiToya, and some like to see the Fantasista Squad as a Double Date between the two ships.
At the same time, a part of the Western fandom sees it as problematic, partially due to considering TouKasa incest/headcanoning that they are actual brothers, and claiming people only ship them together because they are guys and that the shippers mostly consist of "fujos who fetishize gay men."
