A Court of Thorns and Roses
- “I stepped out of the shelter of my savior’s arm and turned to thank him. Standing before me was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen.”
- — Feyre when she first meets Rhys
Feyre and Rhys first meet at the Calanmai celebration in the Spring Court. Rhys saves Feyre from three faeries who were harassing her. Due to Feyre's limited knowledge of Prythian, she is unaware that the man is the famous and deadly High Lord of the Night Court.
During her time in under the mountain Rhysand makes a bargain with Feyre.
A Court of Mist and Fury
On Feyre and Tamiln's wedding day, 3 months after the events of ACoTaR, Rhysand calls in his bargain, much to Feyre's disdain, and annoyance. He takes her to his private residence at the Night Court. Though Feyre was saved from having to participate in the wedding, she demands to be taken back. She then throws a shoe at him, which hits the back his head. Rhys dares her to throw her other shoes, and she does, he catches it.
During her week in the Night Court she practises reading, after Rhys's request and shielding her mind. Rhysand's cousin, Morrigan, is eager to become Feyre's friend.
When Feyre visits the Night Court again, Rhysand is concerned, and asks about a spike of fear he felt from their bond. He becomes very concerned when Feyre refuses to trade insults with him, having lost the will to do anything, and tries desperately to get a reaction from her. He is unsuccessful and grows increasingly worried, and pushes Feyre for details of what goes on at the Spring Court and why Tamlin does nothing. She remains apathetic and ignores him, and he leaves her alone for the rest of the week. He returns at the end of the week and tries making her angry; he succeeds, and Feyre anger causes her Winter and Autumn Court abilities to appear. Rhysand is relieved.
