Tailamy is the het ship between Tails and Amy from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.

Games[]

The first game which both appear is in Sonic the Hedgehog’s Gameworld, where they can be chosen by the player(s), along with Sonic, and compete against Dr. Robotnik for points and Chaos Emeralds. Tails and Amy are competitors in the later Classic-era games Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2, Sonic R, and Sonic the Fighters.
In Sonic Adventure, Amy is aged up and was given new attire. Both have little interaction with each other.
In Sonic Heroes, they were on rivaling teams. Their teams confront each other in Grand Metropolis. Later, they separately took on Neo Metal Sonic.
In Sonic Generations, they attended Sonic’s birthday party and were sucked into the void. Sonic and his Classic counterpart free them later on. They both cheered on the Sonics at the climax of the game.
In Sonic Forces, both were members of the underground Resistance. They helped Sonic and the rest of the major characters take on Infinite and his clone army.

Tails and Amy are teammates in the series.
In “Translate This”, Amy advises Tails to turn off U.T. as not to reveal any personal secrets. The translator robot was going to divulge the hedgehog’s crush on Sonic, but was cut off when Tails turned it off immediately. Later, Eggman rigged the robot to make Amy and Sonic, and Knuckles and Sticks argue at each other. Tails discovers the speaker inside, telling the four to stop and help him rescue the real U.T., but Sonic and Sticks are suspicious of the robot. In Eggman’s lair, Tails leaves a message to his team, prompting them to save the fox.
In “Unlucky Knuckles”, the two are having a picnic when Knuckles shot himself with a cannon to a tree.
In “Chez Amy”, Tails is initially an employee at Amy’s restaurant. When the hedgehog became too ambitious in making Dave’s burger joint go out of business, he and his friends leave. Later, he and his teammates were about to have lunch there. When Eggman attacks the restaurant, the fox drops Knuckles, Sticks, and some watermelons in defense.
In “Battle of the Boy Bands”, Amy was one of many Justin Beaver fangirls. However, this was due to a mind-control frequency set up by Dixon with the objective to control all the females in the unnamed village. She and Sticks attended a Justin Beaver concert in which Tails’ band, Dreamboat Express, challenged him to a sing-off. They and the other fangirls were freed from the mind control after Sonic used a counter-frequency on Justin, then cheered on Tails’ band under a new name, Dude-itude.
In “Tails’ Crush, Amy is the third to give advice to the fox for winning Zooey’s heart. In her house, the hedgehog uses herself as an example of a refined and elegant woman communicating with the fox. She then turns on the TV so both can watch a televised play. This motivates Tails into full-blown Romeo and Julet-esque admiration to Zooey. Later, while Tails rescues Zooey, she, Sonic, and Knuckles say that they have “taught [the fox] everything he knows”.
In “Fire in a Crowded Workshop”, Tails went into his messed-up workshop and see a sooted Amy, Sonic, Knuckles, and Perci. The pink hedgehog made up a story blaming Sonic and Knuckles for the fire, but the fox realizes that it was caused by the malfunctioning of the workshop’s security system.
Fanon[]
This pairing has some following. It is overshadowed by more popular ships like Tails with Cream or with Cosmo, Sonamy, and Shadamy. As of October 2021, there are 23 fan-works (and another 30 as friends) on Archive on Our Own for this pairing.
A notable DeviantArtist by the name of HopelessRomantic721 is a fan of this ship. She has done multiple fan art of the two, and has been making a TailsAmy comic series since 2013. The comic currently has 29 pages, with the 27th uploaded to DA after a half-year hiatus.
One motivation for fans shipping the two is their differing personalities; for example, Tails’ intelligence and technical expertise, and Amy’s lovey-dovey dynamic and skill with her hammer.
