IidaMomo is the het ship between Tenya Iida and Momo Yaoyorozu from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Since the beginning of the series, Tenya and Momo have been shown to share great similarities as "rich and smart" children. They both come from both wealthy and respectable families. Tenya is the class representative of Class 1-A at UA High School, and Momo is his vice representative. This relationship makes up many of their interactions in the series. They are both commonly seen leading their peers and they like to teach and educate them, being strict but affectionate. Tenya wears glasses every day, even though he has a strong enough natural visual acuity to not need them. Momo is known to wear glasses on occasion, especially when tutoring her classmates.
Although both students are intelligent and dedicated, Momo is very insecure with herself. On the contrary, Tenya is very confident in his intelligence and other abilities. The first interaction between them is during the class Battle Trial. Momo compliments Tenya's work ethic, and explains why he should be considered the MVP of the match. Tenya is touched by her words. At the Sports Festival, Momo and Tenya both join Shoto Todoroki's team for the cavalry battle. Tenya is shown relying on Momo's abilities, while Momo is impressed when Tenya demonstrates his Recipro Burst against Team Midoriya. Momo is later seen trying to comfort Tenya after he feels that he almost cost his team the victory.
Following the kidnapping of Katsuki Bakugou, both Tenya and Momo participate in the Bakugou Rescue Squad. They both declare themselves to be the "watchmen" of the group, and are the ones who refuse to fight the villains when All For One appears. Instead, they help formulate a plan to save Katsuki without directly interfering in the fight. After that, they are most often seen leading their companions, as shown with the preparations for the School Festival and at the beginning of Heroes Rising when they speak to the inhabitants of the island of Nabu for them. During the Joint Training Battles, Momo watches on while Tenya has a crisis about being both a hero and a villain at the same time. She attempts to comfort him and help him deal with the inner turmoil.
In the OVA "Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training", Momo and Tenya team up together. While investigating the underground mall, the building begins to tremble. Tenya, noticing falling rubble, uses his Quirk to get Momo out of harms way. However, he manages to injure both his leg and his head in the process, making him fall unconscious. Momo explains the situation to their other classmates, who gather to try and rescue Tenya. They make a plan for getting out of there while Tenya is still unconscious. When Momo escapes the underground mall with him, Tenya wakes and asks her what happened. She then tells him about how he saved her during the collapsing. Tenya then thanks Momo for dragging him with her to outside and Momo replies back while smiling that she was very thankful to him for saving her that time.
In the OVA "U.A. Heroes Battle", Tenya and Momo take up their role of class representative and vice representative to remind their classmates about why they must stay in the dorms for the winter holidays. They come across as the "Class Mom" and "Class Dad" respectively, almost reprimanding the other students as if they were their own children.
Fanon[]
IidaMomo fits in the lines between popular and rare-pair, but is overshadowed by ships such as TodoMomo, MomoJirou, and even IidaMei. They are often portrayed as the “class parents” due to their caring, yet parentally strict natures. While not usually prevalent in fanworks, it still hold popularity with shippers of DekuSquad members. Momo is oftentimes considered to be an "honorary" member of the Dekusquad, and this status helps give a small boost of popularity to the ship.
Although it is a rarepair, MomoIida has over 200 works on AO3, and several fanarts in Tumblr.
