Kinnick is the het ship between Katniss Everdeen and Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games fandom.
Canon[]
Catching Fire[]
Katniss and Finnick first meet at the opening ceremonies for the Quarter Quell while waiting for the chariots to leave. Finnick approaches her, offering a sugar cube. Katniss feels a little uncomfortable by how close Finnick gets to her and even more so when he implies people pay him with secrets and asks Katniss if she has any secrets worth his time. However, Katniss merely states that she's an open book.

At the beginning of the 3rd Quarter Quell, Finnick startles Katniss by proposing an alliance. Katniss is unsure, but nonetheless accepts his offer after she notices his golden bracelet that she knew came from Haymitch. Despite this, Katniss remains wary of him, as she does not fully trust him yet. Finnick proves himself by reviving Peeta in the area when he accidentally runs into a force field. He again saves Peeta in the midst of a fight even though it meant he would get wounded himself.
Mockingjay[]
In the beginning, Finnick is unable to focus on anything but saving Annie Cresta, the love of his life, who had been adduced by the Capitol. He was able to kept himself sane by making knots with a rope consistently. He later gave that same rope to Katniss to aid her during the bombing of District 13. Sometime later, the two are speaking and Katniss tells him to put on some pants. Finnick whips his hospital gown off revealing only his underwear and jokingly asks Katniss if she found this distracting. Katniss smiles, implying that she is glad Finnick can at least joke around.
During a Capitol infiltration mission, Katniss, Finnick and company are attacked by lizard mutations. Finnick is decapitated before Katniss can rescue him. As Finnick dies, Katniss witnesses brief moments of his life, including a silver parachute bearing the trident that won him his Games, Mags' laugh, his life on the seas of District 4, and Annie's face.
