Midge Klump. The Klumpster
—Reggie to Midge[1]

Reggie and Midge presumably know each other at least from Freshman year of high school, possibly throughout their lives (it is never specified whether Midge grew up in Riverdale, too), as Reggie and Moose are best friends and Moose and Midge have been an item for a while. While Reggie is of course not going to interfere with his friend's relationship, Moose isn't actually that into Midge and cheats on her, unbeknownst to Reggie. Despite their friendship, however, Reggie flirts with Midge. In their sophomore year, one day at school, Midge subtly approaches Reggie who has started dealing Jingle Jangle. Reggie flirts with her, but Midge knowingly keeps him allured while not really returning his interest. She asks him for some drugs and he enquires for whom. Midge responds cutely that it's for her and Moose, while still flirting with Reggie. He agrees to sell her the drugs and watches her as she leaves. In the evening, Reggie slips the drugs to Midge and Moose in Moose's car outside Pop's.[1]

After Midge and Moose are attacked by the Black Hood while doing Jingle Jangle, Midge is unscathed but Reggie and Archie visit an injured Moose in the hospital. While Archie asks Moose about the assailant, Midge enters and Reggie's alert as she emotionally describes how horrific the shooter was. As a result of the attack, Reggie helps Archie and becomes part of the Red Circle to protect people, handing out flyers which the cheerleading squad, including Midge and Veronica, also get.[2] When Moose has recovered and is released from the hospital, he stops by Riverdale High's student lounge with Midge and Reggie springs from his seat to greet them.[3] When Reggie and Josie later run for Student Body President, Midge attends a "School Hall" and asks a question about Archie and Veronica's family issues, which provides Reggie and Josie with great success as it underlines how drama-free their bid is.[4]

“Which one of you reptiles was screwing Midge Klump?!”
— Reggie[5]

Midge ends up starring in the annual school musical, but is brutally murdered by the Black Hood.[6] Following her murder, Reggie attends her funeral with the rest of the town and supports Moose.[7] The guys revive the Red Circle, renaming it the Dark Circle, to protect the town in Midge's name and to honour her memory. Moose confesses that he and Midge fought the night of the musical because she admitted to having an affair with a Serpent. Reggie is livid and in his anger, and possibly jealousy, uses some very gross words to describe Midge's affair, as if she was a passive participant, oxymoronically. Reggie doesn't care about telling the Sheriff and only wants revenge on the Serpent in question.[5]

Fanon[]

A rarepair in the fandom, albeit one that was noticed and has some fan works, due to it being a big plotline in the comics. Additionally, this status is cemented by neither Reggie nor Midge being afforded much screen time, and from when Midge appeared in Season 2 until she was murdered later that same season, they shared one solo scene.
