Your Turn To Die[]
In a short amount of time during the Death Game, Nao and Reko became quite close.
Throughout the first two chapters of the game, they are seen to care deeply about each other. While the others search for Sue Miley's body parts, they take care of Kanna together in the Central Hall. When Nao goes missing holding Professor Mishima's head, Reko is restless. After Nao calms down in the kitchen, Keiji tells her she should go see Reko, because Reko was the one most worried about her. Nao immediately goes and Reko is seen comforting Nao and talking with her in front of the red door in the 2F Back Hallway.
During the Main Game, whenever Nao would be suspected or accused of something, Reko is always the one to immediately defend her. After the events of the Main Game, Nao and Reko watch over Sara together.
On the first morning after reaching the third floor, Nao sits with Reko in the lobby. At the end of the first morning, she tells the Mishima AI that she wants to be useful to "Reko, Sara, and everyone." At Noon, Nao and Reko decide to trade 20 tokens with each other. They ask Sara if she wants to be involved in the trade, but do it between themselves anyway if Sara declines.
On the morning of the second day, if Sara chooses to negotiate with Nao, Nao confides that she feels Reko has been acting strange, and that Reko seems cold. She expresses her deep worry for what's going on with Reko. After talking for a bit, Nao concludes Reko must be hiding something. If it's something for their sake, Nao wants to help her, because they're friends. Sara can comment that the two aren't just friends, but already BFFs.
In the Final Attraction, The Arbitration Room, Nao and Reko both wind up being placed in the Impression Room, as some of the people with the least amount of tokens. After a lot of discussion, Reko defeatedly says that they're no way to save Gin, and that they have to give up. Nao speaks up, saying Reko wouldn't say that kind of thing, that it's like Reko isn't really "Reko". Nao has noticed that Reko has changed from being so full of affection, but Reko retorts that Nao shouldn't act like she knows her after how little they've been together. But Nao sticks by her belief. She discloses that she saw Reko break Mishima's monitor, but since she had faith in Reko, she didn't tell anyone. Reko doesn't remember doing that, and tells her to cool it because there's something wrong with her. The discussion progresses and comes to a point where the Reko before them at that moment is suspected to be a fake. Nao confidently declares that in order to save Gin, they have to drop the fake, to which Reko is hurt by, thinking that Nao is just going along with this because she doesn't want to get sacrificed. In the end, Nao's perceptions were correct, as Reko had indeed been replaced by a doll.
Reko Lives[]
Reko is very upset by Alice's death, and angrily asks Nao and Sara to leave her alone. She suddenly changes her mind and asks that just Nao stay with her for a bit.
On the Victory Stairs, Reko stays with Nao.
At the end of the second Main Game, right before Nao's execution, Nao thanks Reko for being her friend, to which Reko tries to express her gratitude for their friendship by responding with "If you weren't around, Nao, I...!!".
Upon reaching the art gallery on the fourth floor, Reko is visibly upset by the painting of Nao's death. She knows it's just there to provoke her, but she can't help but be bothered by it.
Reko Dies[]
In the aftermath of the attraction, Nao rushes to the Room of Lies to find the real Reko. Ranger sets up a "quiz" in which Nao has to determine between the two Rekos, which one is the real one. The Reko on the right grabs Kai's knife, provided by Ranger, and threatens Nao to pick her if she doesn't want to suffer. Nao ignores the threat, noticing the blatant discrepancy in that the real Reko would never hurt a friend. Reko is her friend, and she chooses to save the Reko on the left. The fake abruptly stabs the real one, in an attempt to live, and Nao watches with a blank stare, before crying out Reko's name.
During the hours before the second Main Game, Nao uses the tokens Reko had on her body in order to trade away her Sacrifice card. During the Main Game, right before Nao's execution, Alice tells Nao that there's no question Nao was a close friend to Reko. Nao wonders if she'll meet Reko and the professor in the afterlife. After Nao's execution, she has a dream of her painting a portrait of Professor Mishima. Reko stands next to her, telling her to paint to her heart's content.
Your Time to Shine[]
In one of Nao's death scenes, Reko is the one to call after and mourn Nao's death and vice versa. In one of the other character's personal events, Mishima recalls seeing Nao sitting on Reko's lap, crying on the shore.

April 18, 2018: Nao tells Reko that they're going to go exploring. In response to Reko's surprise, Nao excuses herself, saying she should be able to show at least a little leadership. Reko nervously laughs that it doesn't suit her, but Nao counters, saying it seems Reko enjoys being rudely ordered around.
September 8, 2018: Reko does Nao's makeup in the style of her own, which Nao is excited about. Nao charmingly says "Now, Reko... let's go explore together!" Reko is then seen talking to Gashu the bartender, wearing a hachimaki that says "Nao is life". She says "Ever since then, I've been a fan."
October 24, 2018: Nao thanks Reko for posing for her while she drew. Reko is shown the drawing, to which she is shocked by, as it is a nude drawing. Reko is flustered and confused because she was wearing clothes, and Nao simply says she omitted them.
June 6, 2019: A version of Nao that is some kind of monster made out of her hair devours Reko and amalgamates Reko's face into hair-monster Nao. Nao cheerfully says they'll be together forever now, and Reko is just confused on how it even happened.
March 20, 2020: Nao lurks around the corner, spying on Reko petting the little hair-monster Nao.
June 28, 2021: In Nankidai's Kimigashine Gakuen AU, Reko and Nao are friends. One day Reko is absent from school, and Nao worries about her, saying she's lonely. She's seen to be holding a notebook that says "Reko ♥ Notebook".
July 8, 2021: In a continuation of the AU, another day passes where Reko didn't come to school again, and Nao is sure that something happened to her. She's visibly distressed. She decides that if Reko is not there, she will have to become Reko herself.
January 31, 2022: As a result of a punishment game, Nao and Reko swap clothes. Reko thinks to herself that Nao's really getting into it (in high spirits) despite it.
Official 4-koma comics[]
S1 #21: Nao is disheartened by the fact that she hasn't drawn anything since being kidnapped. Reko offers to let Nao draw her, making Nao very excited. She begins a 45-minute croquis, and Reko trembles upon realizing she's going to have to stay still for that long.
S2 #20: Nao cheerfully barges into Reko's room, and starts yanking on Reko's bed covers, declaring that she made breakfast. Reko resists and keeps herself covered by the blankets, sheepishly admitting that she isn't wearing anything. Nao pays this no mind and attempts to pull away the covers anyway.

Fanon[]
Similar to Joesara, Naoreko has a lot of popularity in the fandom, most likely because of how easily they became close after meeting at the start of the death game. Their support for each other and they're deep emotional bond despite the circumstances of the Death Game are part of why the pairing is so popular. Some fans prefer to ship Naosara, although Naoreko is the most popular ship for both Reko and Nao. It's also one of the most popular ships in the Your Turn To Die fandom.
While nothing is confirmed, a lot of their moments, particularly in Nankidai's illustrations and the 4koma comics, lead many to believe that Nao and Reko may have crushes on each other. So much so that it is suspected that Nankidai intended for that to be true.
