Canon[]
Blazing Blade[]
Lyn is a plainswoman living in the Sacae plains and Florina is a Pegasus Knight-in-training from Ilia, they are each other's closest and oldest friends. The two met in their youth when Lyn rescued a frightened Florina, who had fallen from her pegasus and landed in a tree only to be accosted by a swarm of bees. They became fast friends and Florina began to strongly admire Lyn for her strength and independence.
Some time later, Lyn's happy life was cut short when her tribe was slaughtered by Taliver Bandits, with Lyn narrowly escaping. Having lost her family, she departed on a solitary journey in hopes to someday avenge them. Lyn then found out she was the long-lost heir to the Caelin throne, as her noble mother had eloped with a Sacaen nomad and the two had Lyn when they settled down on the plains. Once Lyn left the plains with Kent and Sain to meet her long-lost grandfather, Florina left Ilia to find her. The two reunited when Lyn once again rescued Florina and her pegasus, this time from bandits, and they stayed together from then on. At the end of Lyn's tale, the two have a scene together where Florina announces her intention to be Lyn's new retainer, and when Lyn accepts Florina tells her she loves her.
During their support conversations, Lyn begins by looking out for Florina, even as it frustrates Florina as she feels she should be the one looking out for Lyn. When Lyn reminisces about their childhood meeting, much to Florina's embarrassment, she grows somber when thinking about their past together on the plains. Later, Florina confronts Lyn about how she's hiding how much she misses the plains and how she shouldn't force herself to watch over her grandfather's castle when she clearly wants to return home. Lyn comments that Florina has been calling her Lyn again for this conversation, instead of her noble name "Lyndis", and that she misses them being considered equals as much as she missed being on the plains. Florina apologies for not realising how Lyn felt and Lyn goes on to ask Florina to return to the plains with her someday, to which Florina accepts saying they will stick together, no matter what happens; "now...and always."
Fire Emblem Heroes[]
Several versions of Lyn and Florina that appear in Fire Emblem Heroes reference or directly interact with each other.
Florina's resplendent version of her base unit can say "You...think these clothes suit me? Huh. Lyn said that too."
In the Moment[]
In November, 2020, "Lyn: Ninja-Friend Duo" was released, featuring both Lyn and Florina attending the ninja festival together. During Paralogue 52, Florina doesn't understand why people are looking at her when they could be looking at Lyn. As they enter the festival tournament Lyn hopes help Florina get advice on staying present in the moment so she can feel more comfortable as a ninja. Despite losing the tournament, Florina feels she learnt how do be present by being around Lyn and seeing that she too can panic and get nervous. Lyn teases Florina that she's a little sad Florina won't need her support any more, but Florina denies it.
Charting a Path[]
In June, 2022, "Florina: Azure-Sky Knight" was released. This Florina uses a bow and is dressed in an Sacaen outfit inspired by Lyn. The Forging Bonds event acted as an extension of Florina and Lyn's paired ending in Blazing Blades, with Lyn once again asking Florina to come back to Sacae with her after the war ends in Askr.
Bite of Flame[]
"Lyn: Blazing Whirlwind", released in September, 2022, mentions her and Florina's ninja duo, saying, "I thought Florina might be interested in sumo, after how well she took to being a ninja. I was wrong."

Fanon[]
Lyn/Florina is an extremely popular and long lasting ship within the Fire Emblem fandom. As Blazing Blade was the first Fire Emblem game released in English it is considered by some to be the first major femslash ship for the series. Some also believe their paired ending to be the most canon for both as it has been frequently referenced in Fire Emblem Heroes over any of their other endings. They are often shipped alongside Elihec or Elnini. They are also often shipped alongside Elfiora and Farnia/Hector to make the lords a big family since they all married a pegasus sister, which make them all siblings in law.
Florilyn is the most popular ship for each of the involved characters on AO3.
