Fraxus is the slash ship between Laxus Dreyar and Fried Justine from the Fairy Tail fandom.
Canon[]
Freed and Laxus have been shown close ever since the start. Freed has extremely strong feelings for Laxus, and he spends his time admiring him and thinking about him. The Battle of Fairy Tail arc is where we are first shown their relationship. Laxus tells Freed to kill Juvia and Cana. Freed disagrees with this request, claiming he couldn't kill his guildmates. He gets intimidated by Laxus and decides to obey his order. Freed states he will follow Laxus even to hell. Freed had lost his fight and it was nearing the end of the battle. Laxus decides to use Fairy Law. Fairy Law fails to kill everyone and Laxus is shocked. Freed tells him that Fairy Law had failed because he saw everyone as his comrade. Laxus is expelled from Fairy Tail. Freed seems noticeably upset as Laxus says his goodbyes. As Laxus is leaving Freed says "We'll meet again, won't we Laxus?"
After Freed's intentional defeat by Cana and Lucy, he states Laxus will come back one day. Laxus did meet with Freed again. Freed, along with the Thunder God Tribe hugs Laxus. Freed was practically crying out of joy. Laxus rejoins the guild. Again, Freed cries tears of happiness.
Laxus and Freed (And the others in the Thunder God Tribe) train for the Grand Magic games. At the games, Freed watches Laxus's fight. He is shocked to see Laxus losing. When it's revealed to be an illusion and Laxus is winning, Freed is happy. During the battle of Zirconis, Freed arrives as backup for Laxus. At the palace, a bunch of women is touching and flirting with Laxus. Freed yells at them to keep their distance. Freed asks Laxus to dance, but Laxus walks away leaving Freed sad.
Moments[]
- In the Grand Magic Games arc in the party after the battle against Future Rouge, Freed offered Laxus to dance with him, but he was quickly rejected
- At the end of the series, Lucy started talking about rumors that Laxus might be dating Mirajane, Cana or Lisana and Freed got jealous.
Fanon[]
Many fans realized that Freed has a crush on Laxus, and generally headcanon him as gay. Even non Fraxus shippers believe it because of their interactions. Due to all of this, Fraxus has a good amount of shippers. It is one of the most popular slash ships in the fandom. This ship is sometimes shipped alongside Mirza (Mirajane x Erza). Although, some people prefer to ship Mirajane with Laxus instead.
