FrontMan x Whiskey is the cargo ship between Hwang In-ho and whiskey from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon

Season 1

During the period of the 33rd Squid Game in 2020, In-ho (known as the Front Man) oversaw the competition at the remote facility on an island southeast of South Korea's mainland. The Front Man is first seen as he walks into the games' control room. When the players enter the area for the first game Red Light, Green Light, the Front Man makes a phone call, telling the person on the other end that the preparations are complete and the game can begin. He then starts watching the game on a big screen tv in his office, while listening to "Fly Me To The Moon" and drinking whiskey.

After that, in the final game between Gi-hun and Sang-woo in the game, Gi-hun emerged as the winner. In-ho escorts a bound and blindfolded Gi-hun in a limousine, being transported by a large ship back towards the mainland. In-ho poured a glass of whiskey and congratulated Gi-hun on his victory.

Season 2

Hwang In-ho retains his role as the Front Man for the annual Squid Games. During the recruiting period, the Front Man learns that Gi-hun plans to end the Squid Game, and decides to confront him himself by joining the Squid Game once more. In-ho observed the player list and the game screens in the control room, receiving a signal from the Masked Officer that the game was about to begin. He then returned to his room, continued watching the big screen tv displaying the first game, and drank whiskey again, this time showing visible frustration due to the lack of player deaths caused by Gi-hun's intervention and leadership in Red Light, Green Light compared to the original game's death toll. Fearing that Gi-hun could pose a threat to the 2024 games, In-ho uses his anonymous identity to enter the games as Oh Young-il, Player 001, and casts the deciding vote to continue the games after Red Light, Green Light.

Fanon

In-ho is usually written to like drinking whiskey in fanfiction works and his scenes of drinking it are usually used in edits of him. However, in some other works In-ho uses whiskey in interesting situations inappropriately, most notably accompanied by Gi-hun x Umbrella. Many fans make (shit)post content on Tiktok by editing the scene where he's watching Gi-hun desperately lick the cookie, focusing on the camera angles and a certain "cake" being the main emphasis, usually combining the scene of In-ho drinking whiskey with "one hand". It is often dubbed as "No wonder why the Dalgona Game was cancelled".

People also like to wonder what In-ho does outside the games and whether he drinks whiskey the entire time when he isn't the Front Man. Some fans speculate that the reason In-ho frequently drinks alcohol like whiskey stems from his past. His wife, whom he claimed was ill and in need of a liver transplant, passed away along with their unborn child before he could use the winnings from the 28th Squid Game to pay for the surgery. Thus, drinking may be his way of coping with the sorrow inside.
