Frontsales is the slash ship between Hwang In-ho and The Salesman from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon[]

Season 1[]

In 2020, during the 33rd Squid Game, The Salesman was ordered by Oh II-nam (known as the Host) or Hwang In-ho (known as the Front Man) to recruit players who were facing severe financial problems. Carrying a briefcase full of cash and ddakji envelopes, he approached potential players by offering them an easy way to earn money.

After playing a few rounds of ddakji, the winner would receive ₩100,000. Finally, The Salesman handed them a business card with a logo and a phone number, inviting them to join Squid Game without revealing its true nature. If the player called the number, they would be instructed to provide their name and date of birth before being officially allowed to participate.

Season 2[]

In 2024, The Salesman continued recruiting players under the command of The Front Man. However, he later confronted Gi-hun at the Pink Motel after interrogating Woo-seok about who had ordered to follow him during the game Rock Paper Scissors Minus One, as well as Russian Roulette. The Salesman was annoying when Gi-hun called him a "dog" and a subordinate of those controlling the Squid Game. He explain to Gi-hun that he had always been dedicated to the organization and followed orders from The Front Man after Oh Il-nam’s death. During the Russian roulette game, The Salesman was overpowered and accepted his fate, adhering to the rules that The Front Man had enforced for his guards and staff—ending his own life with a gunshot.

Fanon[]

Pet Play smut? "Yes please!!" - the average Frontsales shipper says.

Most content for the ship is often just pet play smut, this is because of the scene where Gi-hun calls the Salesman the Front Man's dog along with maybe the fact that the Recruiter had a gag shaped as a dog bone of all things during the Rock Paper Scissors scene.

Additionally, in The Salesman's account to Gi-hun, he mentioned that he had worked as a Pink Guard in the Squid Game organization since he was young (the exact year is still unknown, but likely a long time ago). Therefore, he might have known that the winner was In-ho as player 132 at the 28th Squid Game in 2015. Later, they could have started a business partnership (boss/employee) when both were promoted to the roles and officially began working together in 2020.

It's usually paired up with 457 and SalesHun, resulting in FrontSalesHun. Usually when Frontsales is added in the poly ship it shows the Salesman being dominant and assertive towards Gi-hun but is submissive and subservient to In-ho while In-ho is also dominant towards Gi-hun.

It currently has 40+ fics on ao3, making it the Salesman third most popular ship while its In-ho's fourth or third most popular ship.
