Fruitshipping is the het ship between Yuya Sakaki and Yuzu Hiiragi from the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom.
Canon[]
The two are very close childhood friends. Yuzu is supportive of Yuya and would help him whenever he is in trouble by defending him when someone may try to insult him. Yuzu also acts as a "straight man" in a comedic act with Yuya, usually beating him with her paper fan whenever he angered her.
In the fifth episode, while Yuzu and Yuya walk to school together, Sora keeps pestering Yuya about wanting to become his apprentice and show the former Pendulum Summoning. When he turns over to Yuzu and begs her to ask Yuya, Sora states that Yuya would most likely do it if his girlfriend asked him to. This causes Yuzu to blush but they both deny being in a relationship, and Yuzu ends up smacking Yuya with her paper fan after he asks who'd want to date a strong and crude girl like her.
After Yuzu ends up in the Syncho Dimension, Reiji duels and defeats Yuya making him realize he needed to master Pendulum Summoning to save her. Yuya joins the Lancers and goes to the other Dimensions looking for her.
During the Friendship Cup, they were locked in their rooms as the duels went on. Yuya cheered on Yuzu during her duel, and Yuzu was shocked to see Yuya being beaten. Yuzu adopted various catchphrases and actions from her friends and family in the Standard Dimension to send a message to the distraught Yuya and tell him that he was not alone. Yuya would send a letter to Yuzu which informed her of his desire to defeat Jack and bring smiles to the people of New Domino City, end the war, and return home with their comrades, bringing a smile to Yuzu's face. Yuya was horrified when Yuzu was brutally defeated in a Duel against Sergey.
They were briefly reunited, but a wormhole would take Yuzu to the Fusion Dimension. She would fall under The Doktor's control. The Doktor showed her in her brainwashed state to Yuya to taunt him, but this prompted Yuya to win the Duel in a fit of rage. Yuzu would become later merged with Ray. During the duel with Zarc, Yuzu would speak to Yuya within Zarc. At the end of the series, they are finally reunited.

Fruitshipping is a very popular ship as well as one of the most popular het ships overall in the general Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom. It is by far the most popular Arc-V ship thanks to the fair share of ship tease it had over the course of Arc-V, with Yuzu's feelings for Yuya being made clear early in the show. Fans were also quick to notice and point out that Yuya's grief over Yuzu's disappearance after the Maiami Championship was equally intense as the ones previous Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonists had (such as Yami breaking down and falling to his knees after thinking he had completely lost Yugi, Yusei crying out over Bruno's sacrifice, and Yuma yelling out after losing Astral, but none of them ever reacting equally intensely to losing one of their female companions), leading to many speculating that Yuya also has feelings for her.
It easily beats out other Yuya and Yuzu ships, and is currently the most written ship for both of them on AO3. it is mainly rivaled by the ships between their respective counterparts, as well as other ships such as Pendulumshipping.
Years after the anime's ending, the ship started gaining a bit of notoriety, or rather it was ridiculed due to the manga version's infamous ending, as it was revealed that Yuzu would become Yuya and other Yuboys' mother. Yuya and his brother left Earth before Yuzu can admit her love to Yuya who had come from future to stop Genesis Omega Dragon, thus making Fruitshipping an incest ship in the manga continuity, and it has been subject to many memes.

- This ship gets its name from how Yuzu's name comes from a fruit and Yuya's hair looks like a tomato, which is also a fruit.
