Fuffy is the femslash ship between Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom.

Canon[]

Faith became the next Slayer and visits Sunnydale. Buffy first sees her from afar at the Bronze, and follows her outside, witnessing her defeating a vampire. Then, Faith introduces herself, already aware of Buffy and affectionately calling her 'B'. Faith shares her stories of slaying and says she comes to Sunnydale to meet the infamous Buffy. She is excited to have fun slaying with Buffy. Buffy struggles to get along with her, and Faith finds her a little tight and needs to find more fun. Buffy reluctantly invites Faith to meet her mother. Much like Buffy's friends, Joyce likes Faith and feels more assured that Buffy won't be patrolling alone. They patrol, and Faith taunts her about Angel, causing Buffy gets angry. She retorts and calls her 'F'. Their argument is interrupted by vampires, and Buffy is concerned, as Faith is over-aggressive with the vampires.

Buffy finds out about Kakistos, a brutal vampire with a past involving Faith. She visits Faith's motel room, and offers to help Faith, and mentions her watcher. Faith rejects her help, but they are met by Kakistos. Buffy gives her confidence in fighting Kakistos, and Faith stakes him. They have food afterwards and become more friendly. Faith stays indefinitely until a new Watcher is assigned.[1]

They patrol together regularly, and talk about guys. Buffy walks in on Faith listening to music, and Faith accidentally punches her. [2] They train and practice punching together. Faith suggests partying together, and Buffy agrees.[3]

Backstage[]

  • When asked about the sexual undertones between Buffy and Faith, Eliza Dushku (Faith) replied:
"We had like a bromance but…fine, we were just lesbians. Or at least Faith was. I think Faith probably "swang" both ways. She had a definite thing for Buffy, no doubt. There were a lot of innuendos and there was a lot of heat there. We were on The WB so I think there was only so far they wanted to take that."[4]
  • During DragonCon 2016, Dushku was asked if there was anything she wished could have happened in the show and Dushku replied, "Me and Buffy should have made out." Then elaborated further, "I've seen photoshop images of it and I'm like oh, that's cool."[5]

Fanon[]

Fuffy is one of the most popular femslash ships from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, alongside Tillow. On AO3, as of 2022, they have over 1300+ works, and is the second most popular femslash ship. Many fans consider Faith to be bisexual or lesbian.
