- If you speak in terms of "levels", it's the Hunting Dogs who exist below him. And not just the Hunting Dogs. All of creation. Even you or I...do not compare to Sigma.
- —Fyodor to Dazai on Sigma's drive and will in Chapter 74
Fyosig is the slash ship between Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Sigma from the Bungou Stray Dogs fandom.
Canon[]
Fyodor and Sigma are both members of the Decay of Angels. Sigma was written into existence through The Book, leading to his enslavement in his first years of existence; this led Fyodor to recruit Sigma as member of the Decay of Angels, and as payment, gave Sigma something to hold onto, the Sky Casino.
Sigma dislikes Fyodor, working to defeat him and detesting how Fyodor was another person who simply used Sigma. Sigma is determined to beat Fyodor to secure a home to belong to; however, he views Fyodor as an extremely intelligent and formidable opponent, panicking and fidgeting during the prison break game after realizing he's paired with Dazai to beat him.
Fyodor views Sigma as the strongest of their board and is the only person who understands Sigma on a deeper level, which allows him to exploit Sigma's attachment to the Casino as a step to the Decay's plan. Fyodor recognizes Sigma's great determination and desperateness, describing him as the "ultimate outsider." Fyodor was able to manipulate Sigma’s weak points repeatedly due to his vast understanding of Sigma’s mentality, bringing up Sigma’s desire to join the agency and putting on an effortless act to stab him. Fyodor has no sense of care or sentiment towards Sigma however, ordering Hawthorne to kill Sigma and attempting to kill him multiple times. Though, Fyodor only opposes Sigma in the prison arc, as the former had attempted to align himself with the agency.
Sky Casino Arc[]

Throughout Chapter 74, Fyodor describes Sigma's drive and will to Dazai in Meursault, dubbing Sigma to have "melodies of sadness playing in his veins." and seeing through Sigma's loss of identity, showing his deeper understanding of Sigma's identity and desperateness. Fyodor calls Sigma the strongest and agrees with Dazai that Sigma is not a terrorist at heart. Fyodor emphasizes how Sigma, the common man, is the scariest when desperate. Fyodor praises Sigma to be above even Dazai and Fyodor himself, and that all of creation is below him. Fyodor's words on Sigma all prove correct, as Sigma manages to overpower the Hunting Dogs out of sheer desperation.
In Chapter 75, Fyodor tells Dazai about Sigma's ideology of how the casino is the same as Sigma himself, explaining his solitude drove him to his state of desperate fighting. Fyodor then reveals that Sigma was created from the Book, and Dazai shows shock at Fyodor's explanation. Sigma's past with Fyodor is then revealed; for three days as Sigma wandered the desert after being born into existence, he was captured and enslaved by a criminal organization, used for multiple crimes. Sigma had managed to escape enslavement, unable to trust a soul before Fyodor approached him with, in Sigma's eyes, a motive to use him. Fyodor approached Sigma with the question, "Would you like a home?", leading to Sigma able to finally call a place his home, the Sky Casino. After joining the Decay of Angels, he named himself Sigma.
In Chapter 76, Hawthorne, from Fyodor's orders, appears after Atsushi saves Sigma from his fall. The two assume Hawthorne is here to eliminate Atsushi, however, Hawthorne instead attacks Sigma, leading to the latter's near death ordered by Fyodor himself.
Kamui Revelation Arc[]
In Chapter 78, after Sigma is saved by Nikolai, he shows confusion at why Nikolai defected from Fyodor's plans, leading to Nikolai explaining his plan to kill Fyodor in an effort to free himself from human emotions. Then, Nikolai explains he saved Sigma to use his ability and asks him to use his ability to find out Fyodor's abilities. Off-screen, Nikolai and Sigma devise a plan to break Fyodor and Dazai out of Meursault.
Vampire Infection Outbreak Arc[]
In Chapter 97, Sigma stays back and watches as Nikolai happily reunites with Fyodor. Sigma glumly thinks about how he's the only sane person in the room. When Fyodor and Dazai start injecting themselves with the lethal substance, Sigma watches in horror and thinks to himself, "These people are injecting themselves with poison...and laughing all the way." Fyodor and Dazai start blushing and imagining each other's deaths, causing Sigma's horror of the fact that they're gleefully imagining each other drowning. Once Sigma brings out the tools, Fyodor picks the key card, leading to Sigma contemplating Fyodor's genius. Sigma thinks to himself how Fyodor "behaves in cryptic and almost ghostly ways," and that his "cold logic is more rational than anyone else's." Sigma then looks back at Hawthorne's attack, thinking "Such was the case before as well..."
In Chapter 98, once Sigma is picked as Dazai's tool, his determination and fervor to beat Fyodor manifests as he continually scolds Dazai for treating the situation lightly. Sigma angrily asks Dazai how they'll beat Fyodor, throwing a punch at Dazai saying Fyodor is approaching the exit as they speak. As Dazai continues dancing with Sigma, the latter walks off and angrily tells Dazai, "You don't stand a chance against Dostoyevsky! That much is obvious to me!" and then, with passion and anger, thinks about how he has a good reason to win this game. Sigma thinks back on when Nikolai saved Sigma from his fall, asking why Nikolai wants Sigma's assistance in killing Fyodor. Nikolai then states that once Fyodor finds out the hit on Sigma failed, he'll pursue him; Nikolai says that if Sigma doesn't kill Fyodor, he'll never obtain a home to be safe in. This motivates Sigma greatly; he thinks about how everyone in the world has had a place they were born in except him. Then, Sigma angrily thinks back on everyone who's used him, determinedly stating he'll beat Fyodor then secure a home to live in, not letting anyone use him again.
In Chapter 101, Sigma voices his concern of having to fight against both Fyodor and Chuuya combined. Sigma shows incredulity to Dazai’s method of communication with the outside world; this leads Dazai to egg on Sigma by saying if he guesses the answer correctly then he’s above Fyodor. Sigma then imagines Fyodor slumped on the floor (in the anime he steps in him), giving him a comedic motivation to guess the answer correctly. His determination makes Dazai muse on how Sigma is similar to Atsushi. Sigma then realizes Dazai is messing with him and angrily explains they have to escape before Fyodor. Later on Dazai then announces grimly that they’ll be killing Fyodor instead. Later on, once Sigma reaches the control room with Dazai and discusses their plans, Sigma realizes that Fyodor doesn’t stand a chance against Dazai, shocked that supposedly Dazai is about to win against “those two monsters.”
In Chapter 105.5, Sigma voices his shock over the fact that Fyodor anticipated the flooding, calling it ridiculous.
In Chapter 106.5, Sigma thinks to himself how Dazai is on the same side as Fyodor, whom he calls by his title “The Demon.” He later thinks to himself how he doesn’t know the depth of Fyodor’s malice and how he prepared a four-hit KO for Sigma and Dazai. Once the elevator starts falling, Sigma briefly thinks to himself, “Dostoyevsky… just how far..”
In Chapter 107, Sigma finds the note written in Russian dropped by Fyodor. Sigma then heads to the control room and shoots Fyodor in the shoulder determined as he demands Fyodor to take back the order to shoot Dazai. Sigma states he won’t miss on his next bullet, and Fyodor laughs, amused. He says he was sure that Sigma ran away, and Sigma responds that he needs to touch Fyodor in order to extract his plans, as stated his promise with Dazai. Fyodor, bleeding, asks Sigma what the point is in upholding the deal with Dazai; manipulating Sigma, Fyodor tells him that he’s under Dazai’s spell. Sigma shows shock at Fyodor’s words, and Fyodor continues to explain that Dazai’s speciality is manipulating, telling Sigma, “You’re not usually this reckless of a person.” Fyodor then reads Sigma’s intentions and relays how Sigma just wanted a home, and that now Sigma needed a mutually beneficial relationship of trust: Fyodor then asks Sigma if he wants to be a member of the detective agency, leading to Sigma’s disbelief. Fyodor continues to manipulate Sigma into thinking Dazai was exploiting Sigma to save the agency, to which Sigma presses the gun against Fyodor’s head, stating he realized he’s being manipulated by Fyodor instead. Fyodor stares neutrally at Sigma as the latter demands to know what Fyodor’s ability is.
In Chapter 108, Fyodor successfully tricks Sigma with the knowledge of his weak points. Sigma goes over instances of Fyodor’s ability, asking what he truly is. Sigma thinks to himself over the mystery of Fyodor’s origin, now taking out the note written in Russian and asking Fyodor if he wrote it. Fyodor remains with a determined expression; once he reads the note that says Fyodor breaks out in screaming, clutching his head and repeating “Help me” in Russian, agonized. Sigma backs off, startled, still aiming his gun as he screams at Fyodor asking what he’s doing. Fyodor collapses to the floor and Sigma wonders what’s happening. Afterwards, Fyodor starts his act and looks up with a youthful and shocked expression, asking what year it is; this leads Sigma into a puzzled state as Fyodor starts to explain his “other” identity and apologize for its demonic actions. Once Fyodor takes out the “Sword Kladenets” and begs Sigma to remove his other identity. Sigma believes Fyodor and thinks the second identity is Fyodor’s real ability. Sigma then reaches out to hesitantly grab the knife, only for Fyodor to spin the knife and hum, “Just kidding.” before stabbing Sigma in the stomach.
Sigma falls to the ground coughing blood, and Fyodor remarks on how he knew Sigma would believe him. He explains he put up the show to get Sigma’s gun and that he knew his act would lower Sigma’s emotional guard and such, before coldly asking Sigma if it hurts and explaining this is the fate of all who align with the agency. Sigma makes a lunge for the gun before Fyodor kicks him in the face, and afterwards Sigma hisses on how Fyodor saw right through him and his resolve to join the agency. Fyodor crouches down and offers his hand to Sigma, stating he’ll let Sigma use his ability on him as his respect, urging Sigma to touch him.
In Chapter 109, Sigma angrily states he wants to know all of Fyodor’s secrets, shakily grabbing Fyodor’s hand and being overrun with a torrent of information. The panels switch to Fyodor holding a miniature Sigma in his hand, likely a representation of Sigma’s vision as he gapes, letting go of Fyodor’s hand and collapsing to the ground. Fyodor then walks away and leaves Sigma’s body on the floor.
In Chapter 111, upon being asked of Sigma’s status by Nikolai, Fyodor calls Sigma “quite brave”, stating that because of his bravery, he’d likely never open his eyes again.
In Chapter 113, Sigma finds himself remaining unconscious, but is now able to read Fyodor’s memories. Sweating, Sigma realizes this is crucial, and quickly jumps to read the oldest memory. In doing so, he watches a memory of Fyodor captured in Bram’s dungeon from eras ago, prompting many questions from Sigma who is shocked to see Fyodor harbor the same appearance.
In Chapter 114, Sigma continues to watch Fyodor’s memories. He shows a visible shock when Fyodor is impaled and watches the scene in attentiveness.

Fanon[]
Fyosig is a relatively popular ship with around 250+ works on AO3, but it is on the rarer side, mainly rivaled by Fyolai and Sigzai. Fyosig is not a particularly favored ship, since the details of Fyodor and Sigma’s off-screen relationship is ambiguous, and the two share less scenes compared to their rival ships. Some do not like the ship due to the status of enmity. However, what some define as “problematic” (Fyodor manipulating and using Sigma) is what drives people to find interest in the relationship.
Some ship the two as they find their dynamic interesting and different compared to the others. Fyodor and Sigma having clashing morals and attitudes makes it appealing for fans to dive into the dynamic. For one, most notable is their opposites in Sigma being wary, stern-faced, and “sane” while Fyodor is confident, persuasive, grinning, and “insane” lead to fans’ interest in the ship. Fyodor understanding Sigma to a deeper extent and reading him easily was another reason for fans to find potential in pairing them together. In turn, Sigma can be read as silently admiring Fyodor’s intellect. Fyosig was also shipped due to some specific scenes, like when Sigma imagined stepping on Fyodor.
