Gaihura is the femslash ship between Gaila and Nyota Uhura from the Star Trek fandom.

Gaila is about to have sex with Kirk, when she hears Uhura coming back. She quickly hides Kirk as she had already promised that she'd stop bringing guys back to their room. As she enters and starts to undress, she starts talking about her time in the solar lab. Gaila says she thought Uhura was going to be in there all night, but Uhura ignores the comment to tell her about getting a transmission from a Klingon prison planet. Gaila asks if Uhura is going back to the lab tonight, which causes Uhura to pause and ask who it is. Gaila plays dumb, but Uhura can hear Kirk breathing under the bed. He then gets up and she kicks him out of the room.

Gaihura is a rarepair in the overall Star Trek fandom, but is pretty common with fans of the AOS movies. With it still be considered on the more well known femslash ships withing either fandom. Mostly due it being a more recent entry that a lost of fans have seen. The lack of works however, is often due to Gaila not being in more than one film, and her time in the film being rather short.
The ship is often depicted as happening prior to the events of the film, when the two were roommates. Often with fans exploring many of the characters during their time at the academy. Fans of the ship often portray Gaila as constantly trying to flirt and get Uhura's attention as she studies. With Uhura being either very unaware of what's going on, or just refusing to play into it.
Due to many Spirk shippers disliking the Spuhura relationship, but still liking Uhura overall, they'll often disregard the relationship or have the two break up. Still wanting Uhura to be with someone, they'll then often have her date Gaila. With this often being a background element in fics that focus on the other relationship.
On AO3, Gaihura is the second most written ship for Giala and the seventh most written for Uhura. There are currently 180+ written works.
