Gelafour is the non-binary ship between Gelatin and Four from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
Battle for BFDI[]
When Four offers the contestants to compete in a game, Gelatin and everyone else becomes excited when Four presents the season's prize, the BFDI.
Four is hit by oncoming forks and when he asks who's responsible, everyone points at Gelatin. Four waves his hand in the air and begins shooting lasers at Gelatin. As he screams, Gelatin is repeatedly zapped and would've been killed if X didn't stop Four.
During Team Ice Cube!'s second elimination, Gelatin is announced the third safe. Right as Four is about to fling hot soup at him, Gelatin asks Four if he could cool down the soup. Four reluctantly does so by putting Ice Cube in it, launching the soup to his face shortly after.
At the team's third elimination, Four gets offended when Gelatin acts rude towards him. When Gelatin is announced safe, Four says that he won't be getting a prize because of his sassy attitude. Gelatin is shocked and begins crying but quickly reverts back when Donut is announced next safe. Later when the contestants choose between switching to Two's show or staying with Four, Gelatin is part of the group that leaves Four when Two shows off them hitting Four with a spike ball. However, when Four offers a BFB as the season's new prize, Gelatin switches back. Afterwards when Four starts crying after losing X to Two, Gelatin reassures him that he'll appreciate the value of the BFB. He starts beatboxing next to an annoyed Four.
Battle for BFB[]
Gelatin declines when Four asks the contestants if they'd like to help him retrieve X. However, he and the rest of the cast becomes motivated when Four brings back the original BFDI prize. They are split into two teams of seven based off of their color, where Gelatin is placed on the Four-colored team.
When Four announces that the next challenge is to improve the sun, Gelatin asks what he means by that. Four clarifies that anything they'll do to the sun that will help X's aloe vera garden grow will earn him points.
At Cake at Stake, Four grabs pictures of Gelatin and Ruby to demonstrate them being in the bottom two. Gelatin is announced the last safe by him whereas Ruby is eliminated. Later in the challenge, Four takes away points from Gelatin before he can share his idea to cool the sun down.
Four finds it weird that Gelatin and Lollipop thought it was appropriate to do their secret handshake in a courtroom. Later when time is up, Gelatin tells Four that their final answer for who stole Donut's Diary is Leafy. Four reveals that they guessed wrong to Gelatin's shock.
When the contestants find Four trapped in a cage, Gelatin is worried for him and asks why he's imprisoned. Bubble suggests that it's because Four popped her last challenge, saying that one of his friends was murdered, but Gelatin doesn't recall. After Cake at Stake, Four announces to the contestants that he was jailed for trespassing a courtroom. When Gelatin brings up the supposed murder, Four doesn't remember and Gelatin dismisses it. Later during the challenge, Four overhears Gelatin scream to death and recovers him inside the jail with him. Gelatin greets him and asks about the weather before realizing that the bars around them were just cardboard tubes in metal paint. Four is freed from the cage and he thanks Gelatin for giving him his freedom back. Four excitedly flies away, leaving Gelatin confused.
When Four can not find any of the other contestants, he angrily asks Gelatin where everyone is. Gelatin is unsure as well before Teardrop throws Gelatin onto a bush to reveal the Have Nots hiding. For the challenge, Gelatin is struggling to think of what Four would like for his party. When he lists off the things that he would enjoy in a party, Lollipop questions if Four would like it which Gelatin figures that he wouldn't. He gets the idea to make a party themed for X thinking that Four would like it. When time is up, Four starts reviewing each of the parties and starts with Gelatin's party. Four finds it sweet that Gelatin made an X-themed party but is bothered because the parties were suppose to be meant for himself. He gives Gelatin a score of 0/10 for this.
As Four announces that it's time for Cake at Stake, Gelatin slaps him and calls it Brake at Flake. Four questions the fact that he got slapped and starts insulting the appearance of Gelatin's arm. At Cake at Stake, Four pours water on the immune contestants which causes Gelatin to become soggy to his disgust. In the challenge when Gelatin finds a totem to present to Four, Four is disgusted by the totem being vomit-filled. He announces that Gelatin has been cursed with evil spirits for a thousand years and puts him up for elimination.
Four reveals that Gelatin and Woody are in the bottom two for Cake at Stake. As Gelatin flips out, Four says that he's the last one safe. After Woody is eliminated, Gelatin asks Four for his cake. Doubtful that it'll work since the previous carrot cakes flew away from the individuals cursed by the totems, he tries anyway. The cake shoots up into the sky upon being near Gelatin and Four asks him if he's surprised. As Gelatin is indescisive, an unamused Four look at him as Gelatin awkwardly tries to lighten his mood to no avail. Later when Four asks the contestants if they actually remember Profily competing with them, Gelatin and the others do not. After Leafy gets immunity for getting Profily to the BRB, Gelatin points out to Four that he was the one who got X to hover Profily up there. Four tells Gelatin that his argument for getting immunity is that he cheated.
When Gelatin feels like everything is getting hot all of the sudden, Four says it's because he's here and promotes his stand-on comedy jokes. When they arrive at the World's Largest Oven, Four asks if it smells nice which Gelatin says no to. At night when Four tells his stand-up jokes to the contestants, Gelatin boos him. Four points out that it's ruder to do so because he can see everyone perfectly, Gelatin boos him again and Four decides to take the boos as a compliment. This gets Gelatin to stop which Four smugly points out.
Four, submerged into the ground, overhears Flower and Gelatin wondering where he went. As the ground shakes, Gelatin and Flower are both confused when Four cracks the ground into the shape of a face. Four gives the two a warning to leave him alone and after the cracks are gone, Gelatin is relieved to think that everything is over. Later on, Gelatin agrees to help find Four for X. As their group of contestants chase after Four, Gelatin is surprised when X reveals how much BFDI meant to Four. After X shares a story of Four's experience with the show, Gelatin feels bad for everyone treating him harshly. After Bubble and Lollipop point out how Four was mean to them too, Gelatin understands that everyone was a little harsh but is still set to save Four, calling him their favorite alien friend. After Four leads the group to the sun and is pushed into talking by them, Four angrily questions why they won't just leave him alone after all of the signs of them not appreciating him. Gelatin snaps and responds that they're all mad at him. He remarks on how Four has made them compete in his show where he constantly hurts them, and even when the BFB cast still stuck with Four he still continued to hurt them from there. Gelatin mentions how Four pulled Balloony's fingers for his own benefit as well as mutilating the contestants and locking them in cages for months after they were eliminated. He ends his rampage by mentioning that they still like him but he wants Four to realize that he shouldn't expect them to remain fully committed after how he mistreated everyone. When he notices X feeling down after everything he said, Gelatin realizes he may have been too harsh on Four but he is given an apology anyways. Gelatin apologizes too and mentions that people wouldn't have competed if it was for something they didn't like. He adds on that they enjoyed his hosting and even if other people moved on from his show, he and the rest of the 14 BFB contestants stuck around. Gelatin activates the BFB prize to show the fun they had throughout the season and thanks Four for hosting it. Four is convinced and after unmerging with the Sun, he thanks Gelatin for being a great player and congratulates him for winning the season. However, Gelatin informs him that Flower won and Four realizes that he now owes a lot of money because he was betting on Gelatin. Gelatin says they can discuss it later and after reuniting with X, Four sends everyone on the Sun back to Earth. Gelatin thanks Flower for giving him the BFB which allowed him to save Four.
Fanon[]
Gelafour had gained a following since around the time of BFB's split. Certain scenes, such as how Gelatin remained with Four to compete and Four being freed from jail by him, initially sparked interest in the two as a pairing. As their frenemy-like bond continued to grow and adapt within the remainder of BFB, fan art often reflected how their dynamic was portrayed in the season. The ship had often been included in tier list discussions of the show's ships because of the prevalance and posts within social media platforms reflected on ship content of the two back during the time. The ship is rare nowadays as a result and is often overshadowed by pairings such as 4x, 24, Gelafirey, and Gelapop, as well as other relavent host and contestant pairings Foureafy and Fournut.
